got it!!! got a bigger watt gun. made it sizzle pop. some go some blow. didnt want to put that kind of heat to it. soldered like water pipe. just no acid.

ok i have done this quite a few times now. still dont work. tested all terminals on back. the one to the motor relay.when you touch with tester it will work. have very small tester probes cant be making pressure contact. unless wire on terminal plug bad. loosing my cool have to walk away for a few hours.

was there a tec article on adding grease fittings for shaft.

bought the braid and a bulb. will have to be on hold till sat afternoon to try. the braid looks like coax cable ground. f+fleet,menards, orielly never had got from radio shack

well all be never herd of the braid. will see if i can find it. have so many tools trying not to buy more. trying to keep from buying gutter forming machine right now. probibly going to loose battle.

ok there is a compressor motor relay behind headlamp. any one know witch one is it. none of mine are held in place anymore. all mixed up. is it a 5 prong or what. no markings

well cleaned all plugs today. made no difference in unit. other than code 2 showing up now. auto settings work if you play with plug on control head and so does manual control took brackets off back so i can lift it up and make it work. i think its the center pin that acting up. pull on wire and works push and it dies. thinking i need to put jumper wire on board. dont have a good way to desolder. used a hose before ate solder. swirled solder with solder tool still the same. any ideas

soldered the board in controller 3 times. get readings. sometime wont kick in compressor just clicks keep hitting button will work eventually. i believe its a connection how many and where are they want to fix it tomorrow. going to state fair and up to kids house thurs and fri. could use leveling without hassle. dont want to drive cage as i told myself have to sell if i dont reach 3000 miles this year have 500 to go. got to make it, got to make it. pretty bad that i have to force myself to finish it. bought it to ride. more repairs

well wife wants me to move her floor boards out about an inch if possible. is this possible and who makes them.

Had a real nice ride down and back. Met a nice fella at a station didnt get to ride with him as he was going east to ill and i was going south. All the other baggers were heading north that we saw no first gens. Never found any one to ride with. But i road some cool roads dont ask me where i was have no clue[ATTACH]79010[/ATTACH]

The wife and i get headakes after a long ride. Geting behind big trucks and busses. Exhaust fumes are nasty we try to stay awway as far as possible. Seems to help

o tay will ride alone. found my intermittent miss another bad plug wire. wearing green ends thought i did them all must have done one twice:doh: replaced brake pads adjusted handle don't try to stand me on my head anymore. found my rattle in rear {of bike figured better put that in there } turn signal bolt had fallen off. installed lighter socket for gar moan. loaded tools now where does my stuff go. bet you cant find me. lol first gen too fast yep i said it.......

heading to houston mo soon on bike. jeffcity to houstion on hwy 63, jeff city to hannibal hwys 54, 154, 19 hannibal to muscatine hwy 61. might need help if it acts up. never went this far yet. have put 1800 miles with no problem. last chance to put some miles on this year. driving in one day. any local help if needed. any one around houston wife told me to ride around while she visits.

it has the loaded antenna on bike will have to replace it as top mast missing after load. the cb does plug into radio. has switches on handle bars. its all there except head. i will find one just will take time. 24000 on clock so have plenty of time.

Went out and looked the speedo is in kelo and mph on outside figured all were that way just like cars

Well i would say it was bought that way. The preowner could not have aforded that and never traveled much as his health prevented that. Went to school with him bought it from his oldest son after he passed. He owned it for years. The speedo is mph. So it would have to be first owner in early 80 that installed or bought that way

well went out and pulled it down and took pics. here they are[ATTACH]78753[/ATTACH] [ATTACH]78754[/ATTACH] [ATTACH]78755[/ATTACH] all wires are there and bike is royal. the adjustment screw on antenna has never been used still covered with plastic. will have to replace antenna as tip gone.

it is in iowa city motorsports. never bothered to find a sales person. 319-351-5900 is there number its not a royal i figured it was a members as the ss heat shields. let us know if you bought it. rod fast

my bike has all the parts except the head for the cb. bought one off the bay butttt. the blue plug on it was missing and its rough. any one have a good one for sale. or one for parts to rebuild this one.
