  1. Well if you are close to the Mississippi there are 4 campgrounds At Buffalo Ia there is Buffalo Sholes campground. Then East of that is Clarks Ferry a DNR campground. Then there is Shady Creek camp ground. Right before that is Wildcat Den State Park they have a camp ground but no hookup. Shady Creek is a Core of Engineers camp ground my favorite one. Then there is Fairport camp ground it may still be closed for upgrades. This is all on 22east a state road. Also known as Great River Road. Then if your in Muscatine there is Saulsberry Bridge it also has a camp ground power and showers on Mulberry Ave north of town about 3 miles. Above Iowa City is Sugar grounds camp ground. there is also Lake McBride camp ground There both clean and nice. Then there is a few private ones cant remember there names. if you go to the Iowa DNR website there listed and some sites are reservations the other are Core of Engineers They have them also.
  2. where am I is this heaven. ok back on meds. poof
  3. Well just put it back together. Would have to have a new bushing made. Don't want to take the time right now. And think I would have to replace baffle ie. looked sealed. Don't want to put a bunch of money in this set rough shape. So the answer is you cant disassemble this set. Don't know why they bothered with screws.
  4. Well you brake the outer bearing and remove the balls. Then lube up the gear put a weld across the bearing when it starts to cool should just pull off by hand. Then have a frydaddy with cooking oil in it hang bearing in oil making sure its not touching bottom. Cook for three min should just slip right on but you have to be quick. Make sure you have all your ducks in a row. When bearing cools it don't move. My biggest question is if bearing comes out with gear alone put on before reassemble. If it wont go in case put in dri-ice then assemble. Done this a million times on equipment. WELL after looking at the pics again looks like the only way to do this in the case you might not want to do.
  5. I just did it Dan and it only took two try's because I didn't wait for it to upload on the tube.
  6. Well trying to add to the baffle. I have the slashcuts and baffle loose but there is a inner ring that I cant get loose. Wondering is it threaded or pressed or welded in place. Figured I would ask before going red neck on it. One way or other its coming out.... The bike is way to loud as it sits.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbjJfrW7MbY
  7. that would hurt. Mine was nut wouldn't let off till sliding down the asphalt cant even tell on arm anymore
  8. Well took it all the way back apart then put it back together. It worked have no clue what I did. Have full throttle capable now big difference. Thanks for the help will buy one of those lube tools this fall had enough of those cables for now. Going to go to dr. and see what they can do about my shaking. Think I dropped every screw at least three times. Very irritating.
  9. my phone would not do it or it was to smart for me
  10. Ok took spacers off the bars. Is this picture where the spring sits. Not sure myself. Going to have to buy some dry lube
  11. WELL WELL the p.o did not want to buy longer cables. The block where the cables all go together was put together backwards. There is no way to get w.o.t that way. Put together the correct way can achieve w.o.t but cant turn to loc on right. So that is why my first gen felt faster..... There are risers on bars every thing is pretty tight. Don't think it was easy to straighten out the cables had memory in the wrong direction.
  12. I just want to give a shout out to @V7Goose for the carb float tec instructions. My floats were about the same distance off. My carbs were filthy when they came off. Replaced the bowl gaskets as rough shape. @Skydock17 has been a big help on both my bikes also. Plus a few more members. A big THANKYOU is in order. @prariehammer I used my shift keys and period's also. HAHAHAHA
  13. Ok I took the cables off carbs. Took one side of INTAKE back off will turn full open. I know the cables are stretched pretty snug. When you turn full lock the rpm come up a little. Its always been a little doggie since I bought it. Was not going to work on it till it had 5000 miles on it other than normal stuff. Its never left me stranded in that time so I'll keep it. Did I tell ya throttle cables suck when you have earthquake hands. may have to do it supper drunk.
  14. kind of wondering . Does you throttle travel half way or farther? I noticed my butterflys on carbs only open about 3/4 way. Just had them off never checked this before disassemble. I know the cables are stretched tight. With spacer under bars.
  15. he may want to keep the pain killers in him when the local wears off. no pain killers in him. will take a hour before they kick back in

    sealants

Have seen some old equipment with what looked like they used a whole tube on one gasket. And some that didn't put gasket in. It will plug the oil passages. Got a used payloader at the shop. Found it had a leak in the hyd valve. They had put a bunch of oil dry in frame cavity to keep oil off floor. Someone had pulled the seal off the spool put in a o-ring with blue rtv in place. What a surprise???? why.
  17. good thing you never asked for a willy cover

    sealants

Ok I know rtv is corrosive to alum, so what are you using on cam cover. Where the half moon is. Don't want to pit the machined housing. BEEN a long time since went to seminar on correct sealants. A lot of you will think I'm crazy about this but have seen the damage first hand
