  10. well I agree with snyper316. That stuff from autozone works like magic and is water based. You can dip or brush it on. I like the dip because you still have it to use over and over. When I did the inside of fuel tank pored in around a quart. Would turn the tank every few min. Dumped the stuff out the petcock hole into a pan. Then pored it back into container. Did that in three hours. Also my old tools are not rusty anymore.
  11. we used to put fuel from problem motor in a glass tube let it sit a while to see if it had separated. also put diesel in same tube to see if algae was growing in the fuel. Someone is reinventing the wheel lol:thumbdown:

  25. WELL... I did something a little different. I went and bought some liquid drain cleaner. Well lets back up. I took the fuel cock and made a tin plug bolted it on. Took out the fuel gauge and made a cover for that hole also. Then I put 10 nuts inside tank. Poured in the drain cleaner and matching amount of water. The son and I would shake the heck out of it off and on till morning. Then I drained out the crap and fished out the nuts which was a pain by the way. Flushed out the insides around five times with water. A lot of rust and scale came out. Then I sprayed the inside with pen-fluid to keep from rusting. Put it all back together and painted up the outside and put back on. I looked inside the tank today has rust spots but nothing loose. Good enough in my book.
