Sounds like the Contacts inside the Blinker Switch aren't giving good Contact. Check the Wires with a DMM at he main Connector between Switch Assembly and Main Harness. There should be hot (+12 Volts) going into the Blinker Switch and, depending on the Position, one Side should have hot coming out when the Switch is in moved toleft or right. Now the front Light, there a normally closed Contact inside the Starter Button. If the Contact or the Button is somewhat stuck right before outermost Position there's no front Light at all.

New Oils Seals for Valves?
Squeeze replied to GaryZ's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Like i wrote above. The Oil Seals won't survive grinding or lapping Movement. You'd better replace them after the Valve Job is done. -
New Oils Seals for Valves?
Squeeze replied to GaryZ's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
What's means a "Valve Job" specific ?? If you're gonna grind the Valve Seats, replace the Oil Seals, because most likely the Seal won't hold up long to the Grinding Movement. If you only take the Valves out, clean them, clean and inspect the Seats, you can use the old Seals, but make sure you have slight Coat of Moly Grease on them before you push the Valves back in. -
On the Google Site in the upper right Corner is a Button named Link, hit it and you can choose either E-Mail/IM or embedded. I chose the E-Mail/IM Link and just put it into the Text Field here ... whalla ....

Clutch Friction Plates
Squeeze replied to Cougar's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
No, you're not screwed, but place them Notches like it's described in the Shop Manual. It's a balancing Thing. Yes, soak the new Plate in Oil, i prefer to have them in Oil over Night. -
Clutch Friction Plates
Squeeze replied to Cougar's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
It might be a good Idea to place the sharp Edges towards the outside of the Bike. Because this may cause, if at all, minimal Binding when the Clutch Lever is pulled, but it ensures the best Movement possible when the Clutch Lever is released and the Clutch should bite. -
through out bearing
Squeeze replied to emtdouggood's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
It's not hard to change the 6003 Bearing. Undo the Clutch Cover, undo the six Bolts holding the CLutch Spring and tale the Pressure Plate out. Press the old Bearing out of the Pressure Plate or use a small Chisel to hammer it out carefully. Press the new Bearing in using only the outer Race of the Bearing as the Contact Surface. Mount everything back in Place and ride away ... -
Using a bit Automotive Sealer on the Gaskets isn't a bad Idea. Especially around the Rubber Grommets on the Stator Cover.

The Procedure is listed wrong for the 1Gen. It's first #1 to #2(both left), then it's #3 to #4(right Side) rear Screw, finally right side to left Side with the right front Screw.

Hey Earl, ... iirc, Oehlins is owned by Yamaha on the long End... I'd have some other Connections here in Germany too, if you're interested in getting something going with that 2Gen Shock and Oehlins won't work out moneywise. Also, there's a rather new Company in Thailand or Malaysia, which is owned and operated by former White Power white Collar as well as blue Collar Guys. Naturally, they use a Lot of WP Knowledge and have already built up a good Reputation. We've been talking about making Shocks for the 1Gen Vmax, but they refused to to this for us, because they said we need 18mm Piston Diameters and they could only produce up 16mm by the Time (probably 2 Years ago) on Stereo Shocks.

How much Vacuum?
Squeeze replied to concord006's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Usually, the Vacuum is around 0.235 to 0.266 bar. The Manual says 0.266 iirc @1000 RpM. But it depends on a Lot of different Things and the RpM you running at. -
Oh, I'm sorry to hear, hope it's hurts ... On a Sidenote, this says me, at least you didn't loose all of your Mind ...
