  1. Don, hope you do NOT fill the final Drive with Fluid ? :bighug: I was talking about rear brake Fluid. Filling the Pumpkin would be the same Procedure for '84 to recent, but i use Gear Oil.
  2. Shop Manual states to fill up until Fluid Level reaches the bottom of the Thread on Plughole
  3. http://www.roadstercycle.com/V-Max%20Pictures.htm
  4. I have Information from three Guys who have had it done. Works great was all they said. I did not get any Infomation or Explanation about what has to been done. All excited about getting the Bike back on the Road, they did not take a Picture or a closer Look on the Parts they received. They just putted it back together and ride the H..l out of their Maxxes. I have my Opinion about has happened, but as long i haven't confirmed and tested that, i won't talk about it. Maybe you give PCW a Call and talk to one of these Guys ? Maybe they enlighten you, at least you can ask them, what will be much better with the same 3 Pins, Dowels and Rollers Setup? What i've heard, these Guys are very nice to deal with. Polite, customer-friendly and John Ganey seems to be a Heck of Guy with all his Knowledge about these Motors. Btw ... your figured 58 USD are only half Way, i know several Guys who tried to save the big Money and had to redo everything 3 to 6 Months after their first Attempt. The Idle Rear could be safed in almost half of the Jobs. You better do not mess around with this, pulling the Flywheel again is not Fun at all, and i wouldn't want do the Job more than once on my Motors.
  5. Instead of buying all the Parts and come back to the Issue one Time in the Future, send the Flywheel to PCW Racing and be done with the Starter Clutch forever http://www.pcwracing.net/featured.htm
  6. It may be later than i said but here's the Link for further Research ... Also, not from Canada, but anyway ... http://www.zedder.com/itm00609.htm
  7. Or, get some T-Connectors for the Hoses and put all four Hoses togehter that they are feeded from only one Cylinder. This Way, you can see any Difference on the Rods, because al four 'Channels' are worked from the Vacuum. This Way you can be Sure, that all four Rods on the Carbtune show the same Level.
  8. only one Method possible ... upright like a Flag Pole
  9. They have to do something about their Relationship to Environment(Promotion wise). They depended on Diesel Engines, just to find out, that in some Parts of the World, Diesel is not State of the Art and the hyper Diesel Motor have some Problems with particulate matter. All the Numbers stated .... might be a Question of the Method of Measuring Well, let's see. Since Porsche has bought a Lot of Shares(more then 30 Percent) VW seems to elaborate a new Attitude. They even may get me back as a Customer .... in 45 Years or so ...
  10. PARK ?? ?? come on Kit ... You have a Wing and can't fly ?? :rotf::rotf:
  11. Yes Carl, i'm soooooo sorry to say, but i claim to be born, not to be sent from outer Space to make you feel unhappy. :rotf::rotf::rotf: And NO, i'm not saying that i'm born to screw Things up ......
  12. Hey Thanks for the Explanation. I got it wrong in first Place. I did found this Chart afterwards ... http://www.powerstream.com/Wire_Size.htm It's a bit difficult for me, as we here are not talking in Diameter, when it comes to Wires, we use the Area of the Copper Wire to define the Size. Such driving Light Wires would be specificated as minimum 1.5 square Millimeter here.
  13. I guess the Answer to both Questions is "YES" ... Yes, i can drop it, and YES i can pick it up myselves.
  14. Very well done. My Hat's off What i would do to finish the Job is some Liquid Tape over the Blade Connectors on both Sides of the Fuse Panel, because it is too easy to shortcut them with Tools while working on other Areas of the Bike. Just my long time ago studied electric Soul speaking here. And i would make out some Stickers on Panel and single Fuses. You know the use of each Fuse now and next Year, but since this Job holds up 5 Years at least, you may find yourself searching for Description in 5 Years ... No Need to ask why i'm suggesting this .. .. :whistling:
  15. those Lightning Pics are great, photoshoped or not. The second (Chopper) Pic easily can be identified as a Fake, just look at the Dimensions between Shark and Chopper. The Dolphin Pic is very neat, i like it, although i have seen a Shark in first Place, guess that's what your Brain's telling you in first Place when your not liking Sharks.
  16. Excuse me, but what is another Definition for 12 ga or 14 ga Wire ? If 12ga is a smaller Wire than 16ga, what is ga. standing for ?
  17. As Carl has had explained in the other Thread .. S..t happens .... Oh well, i'm going to tell you what i have screwed up in Life being over Enthusiastic or just plain dumb. :confused24: :detective: :sick: NOT !!!!! :whistling::whistling:
  18. I don't doubt it either, but to quote "These guys were absolutely dumb as bricks." doesn't make out the Point. It's a barely adequate Term for such an immense Stupidity. I just cannot imagine somebody being that Sort of. What i read here these Days ... "and they reproduce !!!!"
  19. And you're questioning all this because of ? The -10 indicates that this is a revised or superseded Part. Also, maybe the Answer to why some 2Gen are whining loud. For me, the only Reason to think about a new Clutch Basket is because the Splines of the Friction Plates have abused the Fingers that much that they cannot move anymore without locking into the Grooves they grinded. But in that Case, i'd take my Dremel out and flatten the Surfaces of the Fingers and be done it for Years. Or, i would put the Basket on my Mill and milled them down to even. Only real Problem when the inner Part has the same Kind of Problem where the Steel Plates engage. This might be the Point where i would buy a new Part. but only the inner Hub.
  20. Yeah, it was from Canada, 24.99 USD available also via Ebay. I have the Link at Home also.
  21. As i like to say .... i believe only in these Stats, i made up myselves ... :cool10:
  22. In simple Theory, this might be so, but on the other Side, you know, rare Materials aren't cheap to get ....
  23. I really can't believe that's true :rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf:
  24. On the Parts Number the first three Digits indicate the Bike which used the Part first Time. next 5 Numbers are the Parts-No itself. Next two Digits indicate superceeded or modified Parts. Last two Digits ... don't know. This applies to Parts. Nuts, Bolts, Seals are specified different. e.g. 1FK-14940-09-00 '1FK' = Vmax '14940' = Partsnumber '09' is the Number for a superceeded Part. I have a Document about it somewhere on my Computer at home, might bring it in tonight.
  25. Sorry Carl, i don't get the Point ? We are scaring Wizard ?? Who did say HE's going to have the Wounds ?? :rotf::rotf:
