I think I have a sticking float?
Squeeze replied to dkaiser's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
This Picture has Vmax Carb, but they are virtually the same. Can you mark the Hole you're describing ?? Btw, the Screw with the Slot is Pilot Air Jet #1 .. http://vmax.lvlhead.com/tips/carb/walsh/carbsup2.jpg -
and i had tought the great State of Texas already is overcrowded ?

I think I have a sticking float?
Squeeze replied to dkaiser's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Slightly tap the Crab with the Grip of a Screwdriver, may be the Floater Valve start to work like it should. Synchronizing the Carbs might be an Option, but i don't believe it may help in that Situation. Seafoam could help to clean out the Jets which might be clogged again, while the Bike sitted for Winter. -
Do you have any History ?? Better not when running for President ... :rotf::rotf::rotf: Better you unveil it now than have the Media dig into it .... Besides that, you sure would have my Vote, now, if i only could vote for you in Presidency....

When they close it for public Transport, buy the whole Track and sell Tickets ... It's like a big Race Track. Could be alternating from one Direction to the other every Hour and this would be like a real Race Track. Here are enough Freaks that even buy a Evening Ticket for the Hockenheim Race Track every Monday afternoon. I think this could be a working Business Plan.

Regarding only the technical Side of this Issue, i wouldn't want to go to a /65 or /55 Ratio as a Biginner. These are really radial Tires and the Sidewall doesn't flex much. The /80 Ratio will allow cornering with some Effort, but the a lower Ratio wont allow much of cornering without very much Weight transfering of the Rider(Kneeslider). Countersteering will not be enough in to get the Bike in a Corner. Also, i believe(!!!) that such lower Ratio wouldn't allow the Thread to stay on the Road. If someone is willing to give a Car Tire a Try, stay with a higher Ratio as /80 are. A Low Profile Tire is something that should be tested by an expierenced Car Tire Rider.

Problem: Clutch won't release
Squeeze replied to Marcarl's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Undo the Clutch Cover and feel if the Pressure Plate is moving at all when you pull the Clutch Lever. If there's no Movement, the Rods might stick like Condor described. If the Rods are fine, the Ball might be fallen out during remounting. If everything is fine on this mechanical Side, you might have the Clutch mounted with the Mechanics in pressed Conditon and the M/C Relief Hole on the bottom of the M/C is clogged. (Most likely the Ball is missing) -

I agree on it has been said everything. BUT (there always has to be a but) to reiterate my Question ..., ... Beside that, my question would be, how come that not a single Car Tire Rider hasn't had an Accident or was going down ?? I just can't believe that nobody went down. That is a utmost Probability and against all Numbers. Not that i would say a Car Tire would have to take the Blame of any Accident happening nor it may have contributed to such an Event, but i never read about any Mishap or anything likely. Just makes me wonder.

Engine turning over too slow to start?
Squeeze replied to woz111's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
If you have the Starter out and willing to give a spin, don't let it run too long. Too Long means, depending on the mechanical Resistance, not longer than 10 to 15 Seconds. This is a DC Machine and if it's long enough on Current, it starts to self induce and won't stop anymore until it disintegrates, even when you take the Current away. -
Engine turning over too slow to start?
Squeeze replied to woz111's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
First check your Ground Connections from Battery to Frame, Enogine Case to Frame and from Starter Motor to the Engine Casing which are the two Bolts holding the Starter in Place. You didn't press the Starter Button while shortcutting the Posts on the Solenoid ? If so and the ground Connection check out fine, the Starter motor needs at least a good cleaning and some Re-manufacturing. When you shortcut the Posts without the Solenoid Contacts in use, there should be no warming on the Solenoid and the Starter should spin like it should. Because all the Energy provided by the Battery goes through the Screwdriver's Tip. This would make no Resistance at that Point. All existing Resistance is provided by the Starter Motor, which is in the first Moment of Current flowing in a Shortcut itself. When the Starter starts to spin, the Resistance builds up through the changes of the magnetic Field which make the Rotor spin. But even this is a very low Resistance. -
Forrest, Scotty is only concerned about the one and single Member who might have a Accident because here in the Thread he didn't read any Vote against using a Car Tire on a Motorcycle. It's the same than Me and DOT 5 (silicone based) Brake Fluid. Beside that, my question would be, how come that not a single Car Tire Rider hasn't had an Accident or was going down ?? I just can't believe that nobody went down. That is a utmost Probability and against all Numbers. I think so. Did you try to shortcut the Posts on the Starter Solenoid ? With beeing the Solenoid internal the Culprit, the Starter Motor should work fine with the Posts of the Solenoid shortened. -

You could assemble the Gears somehow wrong and they wouldn't be aligned properly, but even this wouldn't cause the Gears to drag. So the Answer is "NO". -
Engine turning over too slow to start?
Squeeze replied to woz111's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Jeremy, a slow turning Starter Motor is nearly a dead short on the Battery. As long as the Car Battery is 12 Volts, its a very good Idea to try a bigger Capacity. I would try to jump the Starter Solenoid. It's known Problem. But be carefull, you're dealing with all the Energy a Battery can deliver. Don't shorten it to anthing else than the other Terminal. -
Hey Froggie, regarding you asked Hipshot about his shooting, i stumbled right upon something for ya. Maybe you could arrange some Lessons from this Guy ? http://www.2xfun.de/embed1.php?file=8326

Hopefully your Plan works out. I really don't want to read 'They broke my Garage and all my Scoots are gone'. The stealing of Mamamo's Rose Bush is sad enough, but i go trough this every Year. My Wife is so much into planting and Garden and every Year is Stuff gone. They stole fresh planted Roses from my Company Property and even the Grave of my Parents was robbed from the Plants my Wife had set up. Twice the Snails, twice robbed. Sick but you can't help it. Well Plants aren't cheap and if someone is really into this, it's a Loss similar to loose a Scoot or a Car. Not to think about breaking in someones Home, steal everything with even minor Value and leave a big Mess behind. At least you're able to protect yourself and your Property. In Germany only Thing you can do is throwing your Cellphone or Cordless at these Bangers after you called 911.... Latest update on Weapon's Laws is, they forbid carrying my Knife, a single hand opening Folder, just because you can open it with Thumb or Index Finger. A standard folding Knife is allowed when the Blade is under 5 Inches long.

Good point is also, if you start some shooting in your own Yard, somebody may notice that and be warned right off ...
