alright here we go. ended up hav'n to take the bike to a local motorcycle mechanic,[ not a stealer ] guy has worked on ventures before. he had it a couple of days but only worked on it 1 day, bout 4 hours. called and said he found the problem. figured out that the am-fm radio had shorted out inside and was feed'n back threw the wiring causing a short. unplugged the white 12 pin plug in right out of the radio and everything went back to normal. so glad he figured it out, i was at a loss as to what else to check. i'd a never thought that the radio could have caused the problems i was having. need to find another radio to put back in it. anyone that reads this thread and has a good am-fm radio they want to part with n sell, please get in contact with me and we can work out a deal. thanks to all who try'd to hep, it was truly greatly appreciated!!!!:thumbsup2:

thanks, i hav'nt given up yet. have a couple of other pro's i need to talk too. tried the relay under the seat, now gonna try the other one that bogobony suggested

have also noticed that the oil pressure lite and the water temp lite are both all the time after you start the bike. they turn on when you turn the key on and stay on after the bike starts

ok, had the kickstand down when i tried to start to test neutral switch, put the kickstand up and all worked as it should, wouldn't start in gear, pulled in the clutch and it started, put the kick stand down, and again would not start in gear or with the clutch pulled. don't know where to go next other than ignition switch. any ideas.

ok, cleaned and tested the handlebar switch,,,, its good, work's the way its supposed to. switched out the starter relay with the old one, still the same problem. went out and put it in gear, would not start, pulled the clutch in and still would not start. all kinds of dash lites flashing and caring on. put it back in neutral, turned key on started right up. must be neutral safety switch. gonna try to find it and bypass if i can.

i have the old relay yet, i get time i'll switch it again. i hope itz not the ignition switch.

have an 06 midnight venture, turn the key on,hit the starter button and slow,very slow turn over. let up on the button and hit it again and fires rite up. been that way since i bought it. went to put it up for the season, threw in some seafom and stabil, hit the starter and very slow turn over again, twas cold out bout 40 or 45 degrees. shut the key off put 6amp charger on it, put the nibco heater blowing at it, left it alone for half hour. went back and turned the key on and it started all by itz self. turned key off it stopped. turned key on and it started all by itz self again, didn't have to hit the start button. did the same thing when i used the kill switch. have taken right hand handle bar switch pack off, cleaned starter button, really didn't look as bad as i thought it might. dieelectric greased it before i put it back together,. have the ignition switch bypass installed, gonna change out the relay. anything else that could have the starter locked on? will greatly appreciate any and all hep!!!

i was in sturgis friday n sat. what a mad house. my first time n i see no reason to have to go back. too many bikes n people for me! the price of everything was outrageous. glad i dont drink, the price of beer n mixed drinks was outrageous. great opening ceremony, massive amount of venders. had to watch out for so many idiots when out riding you had a hard time relax'n n enjoying the ride. they were predicting 150,000 to 175,000 a day. hard to get anywhere. people i meet were nice, but you also have your idiots n a__holes. 2108 miles in 5 days. glad to be home. just my opinion. nice rid,n in the mountians, would love to go back when there ain't so many people n bikes. i believe a guy could ride for a year n never have to travel the same rode twice.

was hope'n to find out bout another gremlin bell order being made or comin up again. one i had wore threw the loop on top of the bell and came off. need that one and maybe a couple more for give aways. hope there is more interest than just me.

figured out my problem, run'n around with the front lower fairings off, changing the mixture by force'n to much air in! THANKS for all your HEP!!!! -
have figured out my problem, riding without the front lowers on, forcing to much are in and changing the mixture. duuuuuhhhhhh. i fell like a real dummmmmy!!!!! thanks for all your hep!!!!

got the bike out yesterday, took it for a ride and when i cranked on the throttle it dropped 2 cylinders, starv'n for fuel. checked fuel pump and it wasn't run'n. checked couple of things it started run'n again, took it for another ride twas fine till i got out of town and cranked on it again, dropped 2 cylinders. took back home put in another fuel pump i had and went for a ride and the same thing, ran fine till i cranked it up. starter was also not work'n right, acted like my battery wasn't charged, full charge, good connections. not sure whats go'n on, any hep or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

have'n probab's with my fuel pump, wont kick in when i take it for a ride and get on it heavy, wont keep enough gas in the carbs to keep go'n or keep the carbs fed . i lose 2 cyclinders, starter has been acting funny lately also. i took side cover off and felt the fuel pump go'n down the road, just not run'n when i think it should to feed the carbs. also changed fuel pump to another one i had and still hav same prob. any hep would be greatly appreciated!! have already ordered new starter relay. hit one on the bike 4 or 5 yrs ago, 2nd of dec. knocked me down, i slid and rolled a 100 ft or better. when i stopped, rolled over sat up went sob!!! got up and walked away and the deer never moved, went to a firemans frezzer. totaled the bike. i had broken wrist and dislocated left big toe. twas last day of hunting season, they had been shot'n at her

was headed to work on sat sept 9th wasnt even a mile away from home when a coon ran across the road at me, did all i could to avoid it, but the damn thing hit me anyway. hit me right in the front left lower cowl shattered the bottom part of that , there is an air induction valve down there that is missing now, have that ordered from pinwall and ebay, how important is it and is it ok to run without it for a little while? the other thing i need help with is the left front lower cowl piece, didnt find one on ebay and hoping that maybe one of the other members may have an xtra one that they might part with. willing to pay for it and the shipping, have an 06 blackcherry but willing to paint it the right color over the winter. any and all hep grately appreciated. thanks:thumbsup:

have problem with my blinkers. flashes real fast on left side , flashes normal on right side. had a stop signal flash thingy in there afore the rear lites, took it out still have same prob. think'n i have a bare wire somewhere, or a pare of them rubb'n together. anyone have this prob n where did you look or find the prob? thanks for any and all hep.
