I gave myself a break and decided one $5 fine covered both drops in one day. Fine paid.

OK, so is that $5 per drop? Per day? For instance if set on it's side twice the first day? Once to the amusement of a passing motorist. I've been riding a LOT of years, but the added length, weight, and different turning characteristics of the VR took me by surprise. I'm just glad it was the "beater" bike and not the "new" cherry 86.

Hey there everybody. A few weeks ago I bought a beater '84 Venture Royale. After riding it a bit I found I like ed it an awful lot. Got to looking around and found my new bike. I drove 350 miles each way on my hunch after talking to the owner and looking at a very blurry picture. Here is my new ride. 23,500 on the odometer. The carbs seem a little sluggish, hopefully Sea Foam will clear them up. Runs fair, but idles real low. This is what it looks like without my touching it. Everything works as it should. I'll register it when I get back from my OTR trip this week.

Have to work tomorrow, the new Venture is not on the road, just bought it. So, no, not tomorrow. Let me ride it, see if the carbs are just a little green from winter or if they need to be cleaned. After that, I would not hesitate.

I'm glad that another state is letting the rider decide. Living in MY I am required to wear one. Many years ago on a trip to Ohio I crossed the state line and pulled over to take off my helmet. After about 5 miles of "wind in my hair" and bugs in my face, I put it back on. And ride with one 99% of the time. I too have heard the sound of helmet hitting pavement or dirt. Glad it wasn't the melon sound of my head hitting. I do wear a half helmet at times. About as much risk as I want to take.

To loud just sounds like junk really. (one man's opinion) Each to their own. Excessive exhaust should be ticketed. But a terrorism charge is bull.
