  1. OK, so maybe stunning is an exaggeration, but it did my heart good to see the old girl (the bike!) at the Geneva Thunder On The Strip.
  2. Three is no way for it to sound bad. Kicker speakers cost like hell, but they are worth the price. I have 2 4" Kickers in Kicker pods on my bars and I am about to install 2 more in the Saddle bag storage compartments for the rear.
  3. Took the words straight out of my head my friend.
  4. I knew that I liked this group and the people from it that I have met. Crime must be met with punishment that fits the crime. Bring back capital punishment. I'm for beheading. Make it pay per view. Proceeds to go to charity. Tell me that it wouldn't be a big ratings event. Flyin', I hope it stays 10 miles away
  5. It can be best to not take any advice from me. Every now and then my stupid people filter gets clogged and I get honest with them. I have had to pay the price. Usually a day or 3 off without pay. To me, when it happens it is worth it. It does not happen often, not in a long long while now. But if I had to bet, it will happen again.
  6. It sounded incredible for a bike stereo. Still does actually. The Infinitys provided much needed bottom end.
  7. Hey everybody. Well I needed to update the stereo on my Voyager. Just like another fine bike we know of the cassette type stereo is long in the tooth. I'm calling this Voyager Tunes Stage1.0. The pre amp and amp are in the lid of the tour pack. I haven't taken pictures of that part because I am less than proud of how it looks at this stage. I may post them later anyway. The stereo itself is a Clarion CMS 2 http://www.crutchfield.com/p_020CMS2/Clarion-CMS2.html?tp=61742 With a Clarion XC 2410 amphttp://www.crutchfield.com/p_020XC2410/Clarion-XC2410.html?tp=61752 . I ran heavy gauge wiring from the battery to a relay in the tour pack and this powers the stereo. The speakers are 4" Kicker 2 ways mounted in Kicker pods. I did have these on the back and function was incredible but I couldn't take how it looked. Kind of big. Infinity Marine 6912Mhttp://www.crutchfield.com/p_1086912M/Infinity-6912M.html?tp=61755 They are amazingly clear, accurate, and loud. I will find a way to have them on my ride. The stock radio stays until winter. It will come out then and the space will be "otherwise utilized". This is what the heart of the tunes looks like. I cut a piece of luan and painted it then used the rack itself to pattern the holes in the plywood. The allen bolts thread right into the rack mounts. It's 8 or 10 gauge wire to power the relay. The little blue pieces are the high pass filters that keep the tiny 4" speakers from self destructing at higher volume levels.
  8. Or just open a thread and have it disappear. See it one moment, gone the next Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  9. With me it is just the work schedule. I am over the road Thursday till Sunday and have Monday - Wednesday off.
  10. Freebird. At least here in Northern NY we have ethanol free premium at a large number of stations. Even in a small town like the one I live near. Posibly due to the large number of vehicles and power tools that don't do well with leaving ethanol blends in them for prolonged periods of time. My VR did not do well on ethanol blends. It would develop a small misfire at times. I learned this on a trip to DC to visit my daughter. Once I got to Maryland ethanol free was not available. Once I got north and could get ethanol free, it ran fine. And in a small town near Central NY I found ethanol free 87 octane. Bike ran fine on it. My Voyager XII runs fine on ethanol blended fuel so I use it a lot. Now and again I run ethanol free premium just for my own mental benefit. And I will never use ethanol blends over the winter or in small engines that do not get used often.
  11. And I am fretting over whether I should add a second light bar to the tour pack? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  12. Sure enough I screwed up. (no surprise to those who know me and like me anyway) 2nd Gen didn't register. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  13. You can use any of the stock "Big Twin" pipes on your RSV. I put a set on my 1st Gen just before selling it to my friend. I actually have multiple sets of low mileage (some just test ride mileage) for sale for $50 plus shipping. You will have to make an adapter pipe with about a 16 degree bend that goes from the stock pipe diameter to 1 3/4" to fit the mufflers. The sound is great and the take off pipes are high quality.

One of the many reasons I like to pop in here, and occasionally even hang out with this crew. They can be so friendly and helpful. Mind you, not a single one that I have met is "right in the head". But they are a friendly bunch.
  15. This guy just isn't "right" in the head. I like him.
