  1. :crying:WORKING!!! Sorry can't make it. My thoughts will be with all though, trust me they will, oooohhhhh will they. Please have some fun for me too.
  2. Sounds to me that you could do well with a sport tourer. Less weight, gobs of power, and touring ability, with bags and a shield. Great looks too. Just don't blow by me like I'm sittin still on my RSV!! Good thing is that there really is alot of choices for ya. Like a kid in a candy store! Happy shopin and let us know what you ended up with. On a personal note,,,A 69 yr old on a supermotard would be way cool!!!!!!
  3. Could he possibly raise the forks in the triple clamps a bit? Re-do the seat for another half inch or so. Also a good thick sole on his riding boots can give him another inch. If all else fails with his voyager, talk him into something in the cruiser line with a 26,27 inch seat height. The important thing is that he feels confident in what he's ridin.
  4. Hipshot, my heart goes out to you and jeannie. I will pray that she is comfortable. God bless the both of you. sincerly, cap
  5. There Goes the neighborhood! (LOL)How much were they?($) Any pics?
  6. I"ve heard about ride on for the tires. Questions: How much is it and where can I find it? Does it affect the balance of the tire? (I'm assuming you ride with it allready in your tire unlike fix a flat.) What exactly is it supposed to do? Any testimonials from anyone? Thx in advance for the insight.
  7. Nothing but a birthday suit for you from now on when washing your bike!
  8. I liked it. Proof that god does know everything!
  9. No matter what you ride,,if you bought it because you thought it was gonna change the man you are,,you bought it for the wrong reason. To each his own. Thats why they make umpteen different makes and models. My 2 cents.
  10. Started drivin in 97' at the age of 39 with schneider haulin specialized glass out of libby owens ford in Laurinburg NC.(dedicated).couldn't stand it! Went then to J-Mar out of Atmore Al.and ran team. Couldn't stand it! Then went to USXPRESS doin solo longhaul for 5 yrs.,told em to shove it where the sun don't shine one day.(we won't go there). Went on to Jevic trans.out of delanco NJ. only worked there 3 mths.,couldn't stand it!. (LTL carrier),too much ld securement after each stop. finger printed too much freight in a day,and too much Haz-Mat.,, 44% of their freight is hazardous. And too much inner city drivin. Went to crete carrier in feb.of 04',(long haul) still there and guess what? CAN"T STAND IT.! acually it's the best carrier Ive worked for at 46 cents @mi. 2800-3200 avg. a wk. consistent. I've come to find out it's not the job I don't like it's the LIFE STYLE. This is a job that you have to give up the rest of your life to do. IE: Holidays with family, boating, fishing, golfing, mama,& MOTORCYCLE RIDIN!!!. I'm usually out 3-5 wks at a time and It's tough to enjoy the things that bring me pleasure in life. Kudo's to all who do it. Guess I'm just a pup with 11 yrs exp. Million Mi driver this yr,god willing. God bless all of you. Cap:clap2:
  11. I'm gonna be taking vacation for the wk. 5-7 through 5-19 (11 days),so I can enjoy bike wk. I live in loris,15 miles from poldar. I'm thinking about having a cookout at the house and havin yall over for some burgers and dogs. Either a lunch or a dinner, what ever is best for most. I will be goin to ashville Nc. for three days on the bike with the wife and won't be back till mon.night the 12th. So any time between say the 14th and the 19th is cool. I' ve got plenty of parking. (double wide concrete driveway and garage). I figure I'll cook the burgers and the dogs and just buy the rest of the crap at wally world,IE: chips, mac and potato salad etc... my contact # is 843-503-8269 or put it on the site.Or just e-mail me. Dave 38x, hope you can make it after the 12th,bring your buds too. Same with you rooster, I know you'll be down there after the 12th. What about you Rider Duke, mechanic, and beer 30?. maybe we can all meet for breakfast somewhere, do the vendor thing after that for a few hrs,(inlett square mall will be the biggest bulk of the vendors in murrells inlet) then do a nice ride endin up at the house for dinner about 4:30-6:00 ????? We can all make at least one day of it.
  12. I am gonna be going to asheville nc. area for a few days and would like to know of any special places that I should see when my wife and I are there on the RSV. We plan on seeing lake lure and chimney rock and also jumpin on the blue ridge prkwy.for a ride.Speaking of the blue ridge,I understand that some of it is closed for construction. Does anyone know where that is? And how do u get on it? I read somewhere that there is no entrance or exit ramps to or from any interstate hwy. We can go north or south on it,,makes no difference. Any other points of interest that yall think we should see? Fun things? pretty things? unique things? nice places to eat? we aren't makin any plans and are just gonna stop wherever and whenever we want. Thx for any input.
  13. I'm assuming you mean your 89' two tone blue one and not the newer one?
  14. For me the ergonomics are the best for long distance riding.Much better than the 1200 LT,wing, or the ultra. Best price, 5 yr unlimited mileage warranty, and ,though I've never sat on the back of one, my wife says it's o-soooo nice. Plus I like the retro look as opposed to the wing or the LT. I don't mind the power, however if they ever made an RSV with lots more ,I'de just have to have one.
  15. Just took mine off the tank 2 wks ago. Used a hair dryer on high for about a minute to soften it up then started peelin it off from a corner. After about 10 seconds I would put the dryer back on it to soften it again. When I was done I had some glue residue still on the tank. Took a soft cloth and squirted some wd 40 on it,then wiped the remaining glue off in about 2min worth of rubbing. came out fine.
  16. Now thats what you call a crash and burn!:scared:Just glad he didnt get hurt. Guess he earned himself some braggin rights anyway. I'm sure his buds will never let him live that one down. PUPE HAPPENS!!
  17. Your not allowed to tease me. Wait a minute, yes you are, just not this way! who is it?
  18. Yea but the harley pump keeps breaking down and leaking oil all over the place!! (LOL)
  19. Congradulations...Let the games begin!! I've only got 15 yrs.and 57 days to go but then who's counting? ENJOY!!!
  20. Ya may want to talk to pyro about that one!(LOL) Or Beer30, he knows all about toxic brews! You can't be that crazy and not know anything about toxic brews.(LOL):080402gudl_prv:Let us know how it turned out.
  21. I liked that one. Yea there is something about those east coast boys thats just not right!
  22. Autopilot, thanks for the heads up on the past thread.I must have missed that one. It answered all my questions. Hey I noticed that you live 15 miles from me,(loris),,we'll have to get together sometime and do some ridin. I'm not home all that much but I will be home the 1st of april. Lookin forward to meetin you. thx again.
  23. Nice!! I'll bet you have more pure fun on that than you will on your venture.Anyone that has ever had a dual purpose bike would probably agree. Obviosly To different beasts though. I remember unscrewing my mirrors when I would turn off the road and into the trails and setting them behind a tree, then hrs.later stoping to screw them back on before heading for home. This is the best time of the yr.to ride in the trails because you have much better visibility with all the leaves still off the trees. ENJOY!! I envy ya. I'll definately have another dual again someday.
  24. Looks like a great time was had by all. Thanks for the pics Dray. Single day events such as these go down as memories for life.
  25. After reading freebirds reply, I'm confused! (which is a normal state of mind for me).Question: Are the avon wide white walls tires that so many of you run on your 2nd gens, radials or byass?. can you run byass or radial in the AVON VENOMS? and what are all the differences between the two if you can?I was under the impession that you should run radials nowadays for better traction and that allmost all tires sold today were radials.
