http://www.ebay.com/itm/BAGGER-BATWING-FAIRING-WINDSHIELD-YAMAHA-ROYAL-STAR-05-14-FIBERGLASS-/271546336804?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f396c4624&vxp=mtr This is the fairing I purchased from ebay for my 06 RSTD. Good quality...great price...pretty easy to add the stereo and speakers, skies the limit. The only thing I noticed was that the mounting brackets were just a hair too narrow..but a slight bend was easy enough and had it installed. Try to get everything together the first time around because removing and replacing the front portion of the fairing can be a pain..I will be removing mine soon to install an amp. So far I am THRILLED with the fairing...still miss my tall windshield whenever I hit a swarm of bugs though..safe riding..Ill try to post pics of the fairing later.

I'm considering a camper trailer similar to this one. What kind of trailer is this? If you did purchase it, how does it travel, and how does it affect you mpg? My fiance has towed much bigger on his GL1500, I will be upgrading his bike in the next year or two to a new GL1800, and he seems confident in pulling it.

Okay, planning our route to Hot Springs SD for Sturgis. Would like some input on some nice travelling roads to get there. I was thinking of taking I-70 over to US 385 in CO and heading up that way. I have never been this route, and was wondering if anyone has information on the road conditions? Other road/route recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks.

Good news and bad news. Swapped the fuel pumps between my RSTD and my mom's. Mine hasn't died yet, however with the intermittent issues I wasn't dead certain it had been fixed...until...I get a call this morning from my lovely mother telling me my bike is fixed because hers started experiencing the exact same issues. Will be ordering the Mr Gasket pump this weekend..Thank you so much for everyones help Flash, Wichita KS

Ok, the bf is swapping fuel pumps with the other RSTD we have to see if that has any effect. Might take a trip to OK to "test" it. Will keep everyone posted. Flash, Wichita, KS

The vaccum is another option I had considered. I have removed the fuel cap before. No whistle, and no change in starting. First time it happened, I stopped trying to start it because I thought I had flooded it. Flash, Wichita KS

It stutters out, as I've said, it gradually drops cylinders and just dies. It tries to crank, which leads me to believe it's not the battery. There is no clicking noises, or anything that leads me to believe it something wrong with the kill switch/ kickstand/ ignition switch. It sits for 30mins to an hr, and starts up just fine. Runs handy dandy until the same thing happens. Never know when it'll happen, but I can feel the bike get weaker and weaker right before it dies. Flash, wichita KS

Hopefully my last questions for a little while. I've found 2 Mr. Gasket pumps with different psi ratings. What psi is best for the Royal Star? Also, would I need to install an inline fuel pressure regulator? Again, thanks for all the help. You guys are awesome! Flash, Wichita KS

Thanks everyone for your help, will toy around with it abit today. Have to wait till next paycheck for any purchases. Think I will swap the battery and regulator. Alot of people I know were having the same issues, my mom's turned out to be the stator, my bf's the battery, and a friend of mine was the fuel filter. Already replaced my fuel filter, and I thought it had fixed it, however as already posted, intermittent problems are difficult to diagnos and correct. Yesterday was 60 degrees here and I was itching to ride, however I can not afford for it to die down on my way to work. I'm not against riding in the cold, however would like to have it fixed when nicer weather comes around. Flash, Wichita KS

I plan to do that before purchasing the new parts, obviously. I just don't have the other bike sitting in my garage, will have to go get it. So will experiment with that either tonight or tomorrow. Flash, Wichita KS
