I think if a car headlight hits your visor, you probably won't care about the swirls or the scratches in your visor, you'll be lucky to be alive. LOL Sorry, I couldn't resist. I'm not having the greatest day, and thinking about that made me laugh a little.

Sounds to me like dirty carbs. If it runs halfways decent with the choke on, then it is for sure, not getting enough fuel. Time to clean the carbs, replace the fuel filter, thats my best guess. -

If you have not checked for spark, using a tool specifically designed to do that, I would suggest checking it. If you do not have that tool, chances are, someone close to you does. Or, your local auto store will sell it. It is not expensive, and it will rule out spark, or no spark. If you have spark, then it is either the spark plug or a fuel issue. -
The manual says regular gasoline so I guess Premium is not needed. What are you guys running ? Do any of you notice a difference in performance due to actually putting premium in a Venture ? My 83 says it wants 91 octane. I have always run non-oxygenated fuel in mine, which is 91 octane without the ethanol, when I can. My bike loves this fuel and runs awesome. My neighbor has an 83 also, he will not run the non-oxygenated fuel in his because it is a little pricey. He is always complaining about running issues with his and insists that it is not the fuel. I DISAGREE!!!
