Mark II windshields
Power Trippin replied to Miles's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I have tried a slipstream on my 83. It was a little taller than my oem. I liked it when it was cold. In the hot summer I would have rather had the shorter oem. I do not like all of the buffeting around my head with the oem, so I am still searching for a shield with vents, without the buffeting. -
Do you use a jack or stand to store your bike?
Power Trippin replied to Dale124's topic in Watering Hole
I store mine on the center stand. Can I add to the question? Do you change your fluids in the fall or the spring? I like to change mine in the fall, however, someone (me) was too busy to do it in the fall, so I am in the process of doing it now! -
No.....we just needed something to do while waiting for everyone else to catch up!!

Stuck sparkplug
Power Trippin replied to Venturous Randy's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
If you have an air compressor, blow all air away from the spark plug hole, then get some transmission fluid to the spark plug where it meets the cyl head. Let it sit overnight. Next day, work plug back and forth. If you have used anti-sieze on the plugs, either a piece of dirt got onto the threads and is jamming the plug, or water has gotten into the threads and corroded them. Either way, I have had luck with transmission fluid as it has a good amount of anti-corrossion properies in it. Good Luck! -
Cold Blooded
Power Trippin replied to MasterGuns's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I agree with Jeff. My 83 starts up and idles great no matter what the temp. Time to adjust &/or clean the carbs. I think a couple people might even recommend the mechanic in a bottle, i.e.; Seafoam! Just for starters, of course. -
Just curious, and by no means do I mean to get anything bad started, but...... did you drive any other manufactures vehicles? Or was price the main factor in your decision. Again, I am only curious as to how the other trucks drove, compared to the nissan. Looks like a very nice rig!

Maxthon sounds good, I will have to try it. I've been using Google Chrome. It's faster than IE and thats what I liked about it. Thanks for the info., I will check out Maxthon.

LED's in Cluster?
Power Trippin replied to Power Trippin's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Thanks for the info, as usual the people on this site are great! -
I took my cluster out to lube the speedo. Now I'm thinking about replacing all of the bulbs with led's. I am guessing that someone has probably tried this, but I haven't found any threads talking about it. Are there any reasons I shouldn't put led's in the cluster?

The sidewall tire spec is the maximum allowed. You can run any psi you like. More press will wear out the center of the tread. Less pressure will wear out the edges of the tread. The manufacture puts the psi spec on the door placard because they have done extensive testing on the vehicle and the tire. Do what you like, but if your using tires that came with the vehicle from the manufacture, you should stick closely to the door placard spec.

Seafoam vs Stabol?
Power Trippin replied to msshearin's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Or....run non-oxygenated gas and do not worry about the fuel going bad, cause it won't. Well, at least not for a few months, anyways. Thats all I run in all my toys, never been a problem. -
I might be stealing someones thunder, but.......how bout SEAFOAM!!!! Sorry,.....couldn't resist.

I quit in 2001, its strange, sometimes I still get the craving for one, but most the time I can't stand the smell of them. I had to stop doing everything that surrounded smoking. Going to have a drink with co workers. Taking breaks with co workers, etc. I went thru hell with the family, but I'd do it again if I had to! Now if I could just keep the weight and blood press under control. Best of luck to Ya, just ride more and forget about smokin!!!

Nice pics Bill, nice talkin to ya too. But one picture I think you forgot to post was the best one of all. However, it did not take place at the PIP. You know, the one of your brothers bike, all loaded down. That was a great picture, I bet everyone would get a kick out of it Nice meeting ya, give me a call if your ever looking for someone to ride with, or up in the North Branch area. Kevin

Did I leave too early and miss some of the fun? Something about a runaway camper?
-
I had a blast and thanks to everyone that made it possible! If you did not attend you really missed a lot of laughs, a great ride, and a lot of really great stories. I will definitely be there next, God and bike willing!

Cruise control
Power Trippin replied to Power Trippin's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Thanks!!!! -
Can someone tell me what size the handlebars are for the cheap cruise control throttle locks on the 83 ventures? 7/8 or bigger.

What time is breakfast on sat? Need to know how early to leave to make it there in time. I'm hungry already, menu sounds awesome, and if help is needed, count me in!
