OK Folks, I spoke to Black Owl yesterday, as stated he is and will be in the nursing home for some time. I asked if he got anything in the mail and he said he got this great big card and he was working his way reading through all the posts. He was extremely appreciative of all your thoughts and well wishes. He still sounded tired, he did say he had fallen and broke his hip and that made it difficult to get up and around. All in all though he sounded not to bad for a guy that has been all the crap that he has gone through. He wanted me to tell everyone how much he did appreciated the card and that people were thinking of him. Sounded like he was getting tired after about 15 minutes so I said goodbye and told him I would call in a week or two. Thanks guys and gals for doing this for Owl. Bubber

That's really what I was asking, glad I didn't waist my time. I don't know about you but I don't think any of the MC companies listen to the customers. Bubber

Sorry to hear of the situation with family. Wishing you the best with the whole thing. Hope justice prevails. Bubber

Did any one go to the MC Show that is traveling the country? It was in Minneapolis last weekend and I am still laid up with the knee and am not supposed to drive, so I didn't go. Anything interesting to report on Yamaha or others????? It is getting lonely and destitute in the frozen North this time of year so any news is good news.

So now this morning I'm waiting for the reports of rioting and looting with people carrying #Notmysuperbowl signs and dressed up as beer cans and basketballs... OH Bob your one funny guy. Don't it seem that no what happens the other side goes POOR ME, Everybody did this to me. POOR POOR ME. I was sure one of the teams was going to loose but didn't know which one. I guess the old saying "don't count your chickens before they hatch" if applicable here. Oh ya I was watching the Big Bang for most of the second half. Shows you how much I cared. Congrates to both teams for making it interesting enough to watch the last 15 minutes. Oh Ya #Notmysuperbowl

It literally makes me cry to hear of your and your grandson problems. Prayers offered up for your grandson, may God see this reach out and touch him with his gentle mercy-full hand. Wish you and yours the best! Bubber

Dear Owl Some one spilled the beans about where your hiding out. Just thought you could use a little encouragement and knowledge that there are plenty of people out here that actually give a crap about an old buzzard like you (he says with affection). Get well soon and quit chasing all those pretty nurses and staff around you are wearing them out. We need you guidance and directions at the next PIP in Sept. So do what they tell you and get better. Love ya Brother Bubber

I know why! But I am sworn to secrecy so I can't say.

I Think that is a great idea. I have a few things going on in life at this time, one being my new knee replacement and now recovery with PT twice a week. Second is I am going through the big D. that will be taking more of my time. My plate is a little full right this minute. I do encourage the "big card " idea with a print out of everyone sentiments. I am sure that would cheer him up to no end. I just don't think I can be the focal point at this time. Please don't let stop you. you have his address so you can get it to him. Bubber

I am not sure if Owl ever get a chance to log on to VenturRiders but I am sure he would appreciate the sentiment.

I believe this is the correct address. I think he will be there for a minimum of a month. Plenty of time for the dog sled to get there. Three Links Care Center 815 Forest Ave, Northfield, MN 55057

I am thinking all natural. Everybody likes wrinkles right???????

Well folks Black Owl may not appreciate it so much but here it goes anyway. I don't think he realizes there are a lot of people that care about him. Black Owl has been in the hospital off and on since last Sept at the time of the Pork in the Pines. He was sick enough he couldn't make it so we had to carry on in his great tradition. Owl had been in the Mpls VA till mid Jan. but he is now in the Three Links Nursing Home in Northfield MN, (507) 664-8800. He is recovering fine and he sounded pretty good the last time I spoke to him about a week ago. I will keep in touch with him on a weekly basis and try to keep this thread up to date. It may be nice to send him a card with a few kind words if you so desire. He could probably use a little cheering up in his life. He did tell me that he would not be able to live along any more so I am not sure how that will ultimately affect him down the road. Owl never wanted any fuss made over him but at this time it would be great that he knows there are lots of people that care. Please let you heart guide you in your actions. I think some of you have this all wrong. Christmas is what you make out of it, Not what commercials tell what you should do. Decide for yourself what is important and do that. I remember the days when we made things for each other and not spent our life away trying to buy happiness. I prefer to see Christmas as a celebration. I don't need useless stuff to make that happen. I told my kids if they get me something that it must be consumable and not stuff that hangs on the wall or what ever. In fact I didn't even need that. For the first time in a long time I have felt the joy of Christmas because I realize it is more about the giving than the getting. By going to church and listening to the songs not just hearing them and yes I even sang along. I tried to help a couple the other night and after I did I just knew it made no difference if they were scamming me or not, the intention was to do a kindness for someone else at Christmas. I accomplished that, the rest is on them and what they do with it. Like I told my kids, be happy with what you have, be grateful. There so many people that don't have anything and may be just looking for their next meal this Christmas. Material stuff doesn't mean a lot to me. I just need to be comfortable and provide for me and mine. I never want to feel sorry for myself, cause I consider myself pretty dog gone lucky, three wonderful daughters who are independent, smart, beautiful and just plain great kids. I choose to be happy. If that sounds like bragging, I plead guilty, my three girls, family and friends are really all I need. Oh and a cookie here and there and I am good. Best to all of you and yours and have a great new year. Steve aka Bubber
