MY last update I promise. I just got back (10-1-18) from traveling the west with the Scamp camper I bought. We have a pig roast every year on Labor Day and from there I headed west. Got to Devils Lake ND and guess what no front brakes, Sound familiar? Got them fixed the next day and was on my way, $300 poorer. traveled out through Montana stopping where ever I wanted and say what I thought would be interesting. Went to where Custer got his ass handed to him by the Indians. Met two Aussies that were traveling the US. I had a great time BSing with them. They invited me to visit them in Brisbane Australia. I may do that in the Spring. Finally made it to Yellowstone National Park. It was 34 degree that night. I then carried on to Cody WY where I stayed a couple of days. Went to the Buffalo Bill Museum which really takes two days.I really like that town, only thing is that every time you turn around there is a fee for something. But that was true during the whole trip. Got a call from daughter in Denver and I high tailed it to here a few days early. She headed out of town on business and I dog sat her boarder collie. I had a great time being with her. She is so much got it together then when she was a teenager. She makes me so proud.. I finally had to leave last Sunday so I got up about 7am and headed out. I know driving across Nebraska is boring but it is very long too. Finally got to Iowa about 6:30 PM and wasn't tired so I just kept moving. got to Des Moine and still wasn't tired so I headed North to St.Paul. well I got home about 1 AM Monday morning. total of driving 19 hours, then I was finally tired and slept 12 hours. I was gone the whole month of Sept and I loved it. I dug up dinosaurs in Thermopolis WY. went to the dig site with a guide I just happened to be the only one on the tour so I got an up close and personal tour of the site. Yellowstone was magnificent, It is just such a treasure for all Americans. You just have to see it to really appreciate it. Most wild place I could ever imagine. I got lots of pictures, on thing I haven't been good at in the past. But this time I took a bunch of pictures. I am just back in the recovering mode this week. Oh ya, Now I am having the rear brakes fixed on the truck. while I was in Denver I went to a place called Brakes Plus and they told me that the rear brakes were gone. which I figured they were on their way out. then he comes back and says that the brakes, (rotors, calipers, shoes, axle seals, brake lines need to be flushed, rear end oil needs to be removed and replaced...... on and on and on). they told me it was going to be $1400.00. I drove the truck back to MN like that and my neighbor who is a Chevy Mechanic (he has a lift and shop in his garage) is fixing it. not sure what the bill is yet but is sure the hell less than $1400.00. Bill turned out to be $364. I tipped him $20 to get a case of beer. That's my story and I'm sticking with it. All in all I had a great time and met some great people along the way. Ain't that the way it is supposed to be?????

Well folks since leaving PIP I headed west into uncharted land call North Dakota, it is a beautiful state with wide open spaces, just meandered along till I got to Devils Lake where my brakes on the Ford decided to take a dump, $300 later I was back on the road. All is good now. Had a great time at PIP met two great guys who I hope return again and again. we literally ate high off the hog. since we had a smaller crowd we cooked up the back strap (loin). It was fantastic thanks to some help from Bill. well I am now in Medora ND, had pitchfork steak fondue tonight and then they had a ampha theater with a show. I am working my way to Denver sometime around the 25th, until then I am taking a walk about for the next 15 or so days. Till I return, ride safe and enjoy. God bless Bubber

Never been to Freebirds, although it is on my "to-do -list" for next year. Never been to Galena either. Did go to the gathering in Wyoming, Cody I think. All our friends north of the boarder are always welcome when and where ever we gather. Even Bongobob, even though technically he is on this side of the boarder. LOL Drive safe and God bless Steve aka Bubber

Not to worry Saddlebum We know who we are and we know who our friends are, we don't do politics here. We want all our Canadian friends to come and share with us at PIP. We too also cherish our friends North of the border. NOT TO WORRY. We want to enjoy each others company and celebrate who we are and what ever we are. Thanks for the great wishes and I hope all that show have a great time to. Till we meet in person Saddlebum I would be proud to call you my friend. Everyone leave your politics at home or check them at the door. PIP is to celebrate us,our members and our chosen MC life style. All other need not come to spoil that. PS Saddlebum. It will be a very sad day in deed when our Canadian friends don't feel welcome at PIP. That will never happen on my watch! Bubber aka Steve

Well time is getting closer, so get your permissions from your brides and or bring them along. This is a semi-family rated event (I think). Not sure if we actually had anyone under 13 at one of these so take it from that. All are welcome. After such a hot Summer I am looking forward to a little cooler weather. I want to make sure that all that can attend do so! We have had a couple of KEY cancellations do to family related issues but we wish them all the best in their particular situations or thoughts and prayers are with you. Hope some others can pull in the slack and help out when and where needed. Just like you have always done in the past. Time to celebrate and have a great time with our friends and NEW to be friends. I'll be getting supplies next week after my daughters visit, so basically, IT IS ON !!!!!!!! WOOPPIE-KI-A KI-OOOOOO !!!!!!!! Stay safe and ride on my friends. See you when we see you. Bubber

HERE IS MORE SHAMELESS PROMOTION OF PORK IN THE PINES. Labor Day weekend 2018 in Laporte Minnesota. Well we are only about a month away from PIP and I have heard from just a few that normally attend. I am proceeding to gather supplies and get everything I need for at least me and Gary to have a feast. LOL Still plenty of time to make plans on getting there. As always we will have a good time with whoever shows up. Pig was ordered and I'll be picking it up on the Friday before Labor Day. BTW why do they call it Labor Day if no one works? I know a lot of you are having personal issues this year that may interfere with your attendance, just to let you know we are always here if you need a little help or just a friendly ear to vent to. We hope this situations get resolved and your able to attend. We will be posting Black Owl's famous picture as we did last year to honor him. we miss him and his great company at this gathering of friends and to be friends. God Bless my friend, we miss you! Hope to see you there. If not, drive safe and have a great time where ever you may be. Just think of us and the great time you are missing. This gathering is usually to celebrate the end of Summer but lets think of it a honoring those that we have lost in this and previous years. Those that we have known and met or maybe just have had a email conversation with. God Bless them all and we honor their contributions to this site and our lives for having know them. Rest in peace our fellow VenturRiders. Let's honor their lives by celebrating them instead of morning them. Remember all the stupid, funny things they did or funny stories they told. Remember the good times we had with them and them with us. I am sure you all have special stories about someone we lost, make sure you tell it to others where ever you are this Labor Day. Honor them by sharing the great times we have all had together. I don't know all their names but here is a shout out to those that we have lost, and we will remember you at our gatherings that come. We HONOR YOU our friends!!!!!!!! Bubber aka Steve

I just happened to stop at Gary's yesterday when I was out with the Scamp trying it out by touring northern Minnesota. He is getting ready to clean out the garage when he gets back from the trip to see his son. We are proceeding with PIP just like we do every year. some can make other can't. As usual I plan on having a great time and enjoying everyone's company. Telling jokes, lies and the usual BS'ing about bikes, rides and what has been happening in our lives. Sorry to here Tom and Terry can't make it, maybe this year we will have more Americans than Canadians, We will miss you guys. Good people and great fun! Bubber

I spent all of yesterday taking everything out of the trailer and washed everything that was cloth. took the cushions out and brought them in the house. They look brand new, I was surprised just how good they looked. Washed all the stuff I could get into the dishwasher, pots pans, silverware, etc. It was 100 degrees in the shade here and I was just soaked. spent the rest of the day inside doing the cleaning. Man it was HOT!!!!!! I found a product on line to remove the oxidation on the gel-coat. going to try it as soon as the temp goes down a little. still lots of work to do to clean it up but it will be worth it. as soon as I get it cleaned up I'll post some pictures. Before and After. Thanks everyone. Bubber

Well I finally found a Scamp at a reasonable price. 16 foot Air conditioning bathroom stove furnace they gave me all their camping supplies because they are a couple in their 80's and won't be camping anymore. nice couple. found it in a little town in northern Minnesota up by my X-in-laws so I went and spent a couple days with them. Now all I need is some people to visit from the VentureRiders as I work my way west through South Dakota, Wyoming. Montana and where ever else I go. I have a daughter in Denver so that is on my list to stop. I'll be spending the next few days cleaning it up, washing the bedding and doing the dishs, and setting up the camper the way I want. No I did not take any pictures yet but TRUST ME I did find one. LOL I post some pictures as soon as I get the camper cleaned out. Any buddy have a good way to clean off the oxidation off of the fiberglass and polish the exterior?

PS there may be those Canadians there so be nice to them they seem to be pretty sensitive to being insulted by the President. LOL Bubber I have updated the original post and added it to the calendar for more information.

Well it is time for me to start the invite to the PIP in LaPorte MN on August 31st thru Sept 3rd. 39180 Old Oaktree Drive LaPorte, Minnesota 56461 Bikes, pork, riding, good conversation and friends, and then of course there is an occasional adult beverage. People can start arriving on the 31st and stay till Grampagak and Grammagak throw our butts out on Monday or Tuesday. We hope to have a good turnout this year and celebrate the good people that come from where ever they come from. we usually have a auction to help raise additional funds to support the event, so if you are inclined bring an item to auction off. The auctioneer is a wonder person that is humble and not to crazy. Hope to see a bunch of new people to share the wonders of motorcycling and eating freshly cooked pork. I hope to see you there, you are all invited. it would be great if you could let me know so we have enough food for all the meals. God bless and have a great summer. The one and only Bubber

I did a search and saw that one. Long way to go look at a trailer and not buy it. LOL

I have been looking for a Casita (preferred) or a Scamp for a month or so. Can't find one that is at a reasonable price. Anybody out there know of one that ain't 4 gazillion miles from Minnesota? There seems to be a lot of them in Texas where they are made. Bubber

I really wanted to be there this year but I lost a sister in law and stayed home to support my brother. Next year for sure. Hope you all are having fun. wish I could be there. God bless and have a great time. Bubber
