  3. Last year at Cody I asked for someone to take a picture of me while I was riding my bike down the highway. It was a couple and I forgot their names, my bad. I was wondering if they still had the photo and could email it to me or PM me and I would send them my email. I would really like to have it. I forgot all about it til recently. Steve AKA Bubber

  8. Legaly? 2 cylinder BSA 650 and it was a POS pardon my french. Never ran right, electrics were terrible, no lights. I think it was originally some sort of hill climber or something. 2 years of that cured me of BSA for good. :rotf: Live and learn

  15. Well what do you expect if she is going to up and die during deer hunting season, it was the least he could do.
  16. Pickinfred, Do have the specifics on the mount, seller name, P/N, posting number, price, stuff like that? I just bout a Garmin Nuvi 1450 for the car and thought I would also use it on the bike. Looking for a simple mount that doesn't take up to much realestate. I saw one on here someone made from a bolt and really thought it was simple and clever.
  17. Earl this is a very tough crowd, accept information with extreme caution. The only thing I know for sure about electricity is that when you flip the swith the lights come on, or not.

  21. OK folks thank for all the postings and PM's on the subject. I am pretty sure I know what to do now. Yes I'll take pictures as I go along so some future VentureRider will have an easier time if they ever decide to do the conversion. I got a lot of great comments and advice, just as I expected I would from such a great bunch of guys and gals. Thanks again folks. Just got to order some parts now. Bubber aka Steve
  22. There is and explanation of the Yamaha P/N and yws the first three digits are for the model of the bike. the next set are the p/n and the later numbers are when when they were first used or revisions of the part. Not sure about the last part but the middle 5 digits are the part number the parts people go by. Maybe someone else has more insite on the part number. I will look up what the explaintion is if I can find it. Thanks PS I did find this : The first three numbers apply to the year/model of the bike. middle five refer to the type of part it is. the last 2 are material and color 1D6 = yr/model 56xxx = P/N type of part it is 00 = kind of a revision 11 supersedes 10, 12 supersedes 11, on and on 00 = last two digits material and color At least that is how I read it.
  23. Well I thought it was funny that the RSTD and Venture had different cables so I went and looked them up here is what I found. RSTD 1D6 26311-00-00 1D6 26312-00-00 4XY 26311-10-00 4XY 26312-10-00 The 26311 and 26312 are the parts of the part number that realy count for both the RSTD and Venture, and you can see they should be identical to each other. Could they have been rerouted when reinstalled and it wasn't noticed? Any body else got any ideas here? Bubber
