  1. There doesn't seem to be much interest in the PIP. I have only seen a few sign up or notify me. All I can say is I am going to have a big party without you. Me and all my friends. I think that may be 2 possibly 3 if I pay them enough. Bubber
  2. Thanks for registering. Hoss EagleEye
  3. Thanks Hoss Looking forward to hearing from you about a contact and seeing you on Labor Day. All others attending please sign up on the calendar. I'll be there so enough said. LOL Bubber
  4. My dear fellow VentureRiders I am here today to announce that the Pork in the Pines for 2019 is still scheduled for Labor Day weekend August 30th thru Sept 2nd. With that being said it may also be our last. Due to low attendance and other issues effecting our core group I am sad to say that this may be our last PIP. That was the bad news. Now the good news: The plan is to make this years PIP the best that we have ever had, and there have been some really good ones for sure! In order to spend our funds wisely we need those that are attending to let me know that they will be there baring any unforeseen catastrophes. I know I have asked for this in the past but we have received less than a stellar reply to knowing the quantity. Here are the reasons for signing up early. 1) Planing the number of restrooms ordered 2) Ordering the guest of honor (Mr. Pig) 3) Having enough camping area available 4) Having electrical hook ups are limited. 5) Limited funds for the PIP 6) Knowing and planning road trips for those that want to go riding. 7) Having enough food, helpers and other provisions. Believe it or not there takes a lot of planning prior to the PIP, so to be fair to that those that put in the planning and work at the PIP to supply a great meal, entertainment and a great place to camp, sit around the fire, tell lies, act smart and generally enjoy each others company. I am asking that all those that are going to attend please let me know as early as possible (read that to mean by the end of June). For years Black Owl insisted that there be no charge to people in attendance and that there only be a free offering jar placed out for contributions to the PIP. We have been blessed by the generosity of those that attended and instead of having a fee this year we will continue in the Black Owl tradition and hope that you all will be as generous as you have been in the past. No food was ever wasted in the past, we always donated what wasn't used or taken by the attendees to a local church for distribution to the local needy people in the area. You should all be proud of your selfless contributions. We would like to have this PIP attendees to enjoy and benefit from all that they do to make the PIP happen, that includes their gift of money, time, labor, use of property, planning the MC road trip for the day, cooking skills, and all around good nature and willingness to make this a great celebration of our MC lifestyle. As I write this I can't imagine how proud Black Owl would be to see this tradition carry on at least one more year. God Bless You all and hope to see you at the PIP. Steve aka Bubber Don't forget to let me know your coming, I will keep a running tally in another post when you sign up on the calendar. evidently it keeps track automatically. Duh who would have thought. LOL

  12. Thanks Drews for coming to PIP this year. I hope you come back next year. It was great to meet you and shot the BS for a couple of days. Thanks to all that attended. It was great meeting the new guys. LOL
  13. I would like to see more photos from all around the bike. Yes it is BAD ASS! Bubber
  14. We lost a lot of good men in that war. God bless them all and their families who sacrificed so much for us all! God bless all that serve and protect the rights of all American citizens. It makes me so sad to think of the unholy and un-godly things these soldiers had to see and endure. As stated: We lost a lot of good men in that war.
  15. My dad use to do short wave radio. He would sit in his radio shack as we called it for hours listening to signals from all around the world. He finally got his license late in life but I think he still did more listening than talking. He had a wire antenna that stretched across the lot to a tree on the other side. It must have been 100 feet long or so, My dad never spent a buck on anything he could make himself. With ten kids there wasn't must extra money for that kind of stuff. Thinking back he was a very smart man who could figure out almost anything. I wish sometimes that I was just half as smart as he was. Unfortunately he was smart with mechanical stuff, electricity and radios and the like, just wasn't so good with people. He was pretty much a loner, we always thought he would have made a great hermit. He spent a lot of time with this toys taking things apart just to see how they worked. I remember sitting there watching him take things apart and they place it back where he just took it out of. Just to see how it went together. He was a very inquisitive man. I think that is kind of lost in today's society. Well I got way off the subject here, guess I was just remembering a great man in my life. Carry on. OVER Bubber
  16. Now that was funny. What about all those green peoples? Shouldn't they have a slogan too? Or don't they matter enough?????
  17. I'll have to go look up BLM land. thanks Bubber OK I found it. Bureau of Land Management.
  18. I have looked at the grass lands site but I am still going to see if a rancher will allow us to hunt on his land. I would rather do that than go to a property controlled by a government entity. Just allergic to BS and stupid rules that they don't even understand what they are supposed to accomplish.
  19. Thanks cimmer But I am not interested in a organized hunting expedition. Looking for a rancher who would allow us to shoot as many of the varmint at no cost to him or us. I was hoping it would be of mutual benefit to the rancher and us. Maybe I am all wet here but that is what I was looking for.
  20. My understanding is once they are hit with a 22-250 there is nothing but a puff of red or "what was that". So no cleaning necessary. Food for hawks and coyotes. But since there is no value to the rancher they appreciate anyone taking the largest amount possible. I guess cows tend to break legs if they get their legs stuck in the holes. kind of a service to the rancher for eliminating them or at least as many as possible. Hey folks I still need a lead to contact someone about the P-dog hut. ANYONE?
  21. PEOPLE FOCUS will ya LOL IT's all about me here, at least that is what I tell my brother. So no leads to spot to go prairie dog hunting yet. And no we are not changing the name of Pork in the Pines. But if we don't get more attendance at the PIP we will be serving a mystery meat from ND.or WY. HELP folks before this post is taken over by aliens or some other subject. Thanks all Bubber
  22. So this is definitely a non MC related post. I want to plan a prairie dog hunt out in the Dakotas or Montana/ Wyoming for next year. So I am looking for a contact to make this happen next spring/summer time frame. Does anyone have a contact so I can contact them and arrange this hunt with them for me and my brother? We would be self sufficient camping on the land. If you know someone or have a contact please send me a message and we can take it off line from there. Thanks Bubber
