  1. OK boys and girls, as you may know every year at the PIP we have an auction to have seed money for the next years gathering. This has always been a fun time and people over the years have donated some very nice and generous gift to be auctioned off. I always thought it was because we had a great auctioneer but I have since been told it is in spite of me that the auction is so good. So here is the pitch..... people attending the PIP please bring a item to auction off, it can be a gag gift or something useful. It does not have to cost a lot... that is not the point. The point is to raise a little money and most of all have some laughs and fun. If anyone else want to send an auction item that may not be attending they can get ahold of me. Most of all there is no obligation to bring something. Your attendance and or good thoughts and good will is all that is required. We are hoping to have a great PIP as usual, so folks see you all there and ride safe and be careful out there. Your fellow VentureRider Bubber PS: we hope to see the drive through couple that stopped , went for a ride, came back for their tent and left a few years ago. We affectionately refer to them as the "Drive Through Couple" Remember we are all here to have fun.

  3. Maybe we can get a sing-a-along going and scare that pesky rooster to his final demise. This the year for Mr. Rooster. He will finally end up in the stew pot. Don't show this to Annie she has a shotgun and knows how to use it. Bubber
  4. Slowrollwv makes a great product. I have one of his running light mounts on my bike. Sorry to say that we have lost another member that went out of their way to design and make parts solely to benefit their fellow members. Thanks slowrollwv for all the effort you have made in supplying your product to our members. Bubber

  15. OK I got the points today and just installed them in the Pump, You have to solder on one wire and the other two screw down. Now I have to wait till I get back on Sunday to install and test it out before buttoning it up. I sure hope this works because I am not sure what I would try next. Hope you all have a good 4th of July. Bubber

  17. Hey you guys are getting off point. This was a post about my problems not the world's. LOL Points were shipped on Monday from Indiana, estimated time of arrival is 7/6/15. Is Pony Express operating or what? I was hoping to get it soldered in and tested and installed but this weekend but I am at the lake drinking beer, telling jokes, acting smart and playing golf. Hey someone has to do it! Beer is God's way of telling us he loves us. Just saying!!!!! Bubber
  18. Well here is the thing if I protest to much about my alibi then you will continue to rag on me about not coming last weekend. So you win. See you all at The Pork in the Pines. Where I will be present because I be one of the guys helping to pull it off. Other than that glad you all had a great time. Bubber
  19. I did it with the compressor at little spurts so not sure what that means to the carbs operation or not. Bubber
  20. My excuse was that the bike was acting up and now I am replacing fuel pump points. That is my story and I can actually prove it. Bubber
  21. Thanks Condor That is what I ordered. Won't get them till 7-6-15 according to the reply/receipt. Bubber
  22. Well I took the pump out the bike because a week or so I was riding to work when I passed someone and the bike decided to just crap out. This is the third time this has happened and it is really starting to piss me off. Here is what I found when I took everything apart. 1st drained gas from tank, disconnected fuel line and added hose to gas can. Result was that the fuel flowed easily in both regular and reserve positions. 2nd blew out the line to pump to verify no obstruction or crap. Result gas flowed out easily (and on me). 3rd attached hose to fuel pet cock and blew air back into tank. Result was I could hear the air escaping into the tank. 4th blew air into hose after the fuel pump which goes to the carbs. Result I could hear the air gurgling fuel in the carb. Here is what confuses me. I don't remember seeing gas in the fuel filter, blew through it and air came out but filter looked dry. Now it had been sitting a week or so but that part bothered me because I would assume that there would always be gas in the filter based on the position from the tank and carb. Took the pump to the bench to look at the points and to say the least they looked crappy. One side has accumulated a large deposit/ build up so that the points may have been sitting together but I assume that the contact point was the side where the build up was. So like ant good tinkerer I started to fool around with them, filed the points (not easy) took them all apart (big mistake) bent the upper spring with point so now it was crooked. So now I did the research on buying the replacement point kit because after screwing with the ones on the pump. I feel I screwed them up to much to be reliable. So here I sit telling you my tale of whoa not so you feel sorry for me but because I still don't know the actual cause of the bike dying on the highway. Also I will tell you as I was sitting along the highway trying to get the bike started the bike just felt like it was getting no gas at all and yes I had gas in the tank. so unless I get some great feed back from this group I plan on doing the following: ordered the replacement point install point and blow out all lines again. hook up pump to tank and attach a hose to the output and make sure it pumps good then hook it up properly to the carbs. large amounts of Sea Foam in the new gas charge the battery that I ran down. choke that mother and fire her up. If it don't do as expected I may be lost for a PLAN B. This is where you all come in. HELP !!!!!! ANY further suggestions that I may not have thought of? Bubber
  23. Maybe he is just a pretty face! Probably not. Bubber
  24. I would try something acidic, Vinegar and then wipe the rubber with lacquer thinner to bring the black back to life. Vinegar is mild enough but is acidic. Besides you can have salad right your done. Bubber
  25. I am still tentative. Bike stopped on me going to work one morning so it sits in the garage waiting for me to work on it. I may come anyway with out the bike and camp and see what trouble I can get into there. Bubber
