The horns are great, I have one. But I also know that 2 1/2 tons of steel will win every single time against a motorcycle. My favorite pet peeve is peple talking on the phone while they are driving down the freeway at 70 MPH taking MY LIFE in their hands. I now always have my thumb on the horn button while I am in traffic. It is a real good thing that I don't care a hand gun because I would be in the gray bar hotel along time ago. It is amazing what people do while driving and on the phone. Follow one sometime it is really scary what happens. I gotta go take a vallium or something. Be carefull out there! Steve -
You didn't say what year the RSV was, but with a little patience you should be able to pull the heads off both of them. The dealer can't help you here! Good luck!

If you ever plan on ever attending the Pork in the Pines Rally event I just want to warm you! You will meet some of the best people in the western hemisphere if not the world. Since this was my first (as stated on other post as being a Virgin) I realy had no idea what to expect. Finally convince the wife to go because she "didn't know anyone" I told her that it's all good and that I was going and she needed to commit. Well she did. At the rally I met people from Wisconsin, Montana, Canada (eh), and people from all over Minnesoata. If you ever go be prepare to have some of the best pork roast on the planet. Be prepared to be made at home and that you have always been part of the familly. Be prepared to meet people and be treated like long lost friends. Be prepared to have all barriers and preconcieved notions errased and meet some realy nice and real people. Like Rick said he has friends allover the country there isn't a place he can't go where he won't be asked to stay with the people. That is how I felt at the PiP. Met new friends and learned a whole lot of stuff about me. We sat around the camp fire and laughed and laughed and told stories and our best lies. Met new friends and renewed old ones. Ate and drank and spread good cheer. I sincerly want to thank all who organized this rally all who attended. I feel like I have just made many new friends and now have the face to go with the name. My final warning is this guy named Wildhare ever shows up, becarefull. He is a good ol boy from east Texas and that man is a riding fool. He puts more miles on in a month than a lot of people put on in years. He is a real character and I am damn proud to call him my friend. The Canadan Crew were a great bunch of guys and gals and trust me they know how to party. And lastly Thanks to Gary and Ann for allowing a bunch a crazies to share there home and shop and homested. So my final warning is if you weren't there you really missed it. Thanks all!

Detained By NM State Police Murder Investigation NM Part 2
Bubber replied to Dragonslayer's topic in Watering Hole
Man you really know how to have fun! LOL When a cop invites you it ain't really an invite.... more like a very strong suggestion. Only five cop cars? and only five sets of cops? Do you think it really took that many people to make a couple of decisions to haul the bag out or not? Now how did that mountain lion get that guy in the bag and then tie it up nice and tight? Did they give you any clues to that? Did they ask you to tie up anything to see if the knots matched? Glad you got out of there and on your way. Sound like you had a great trip other than that little diversion. Bubber -
Made getting your skivies on in the morning very interesting.... Much to much information! Now how do I get that out of my minds eye with out scratching my eye out???? LOL

Check with metric.magic@gmail.com tell him Steve Stelter sent you his way. I think I paid $210.00 for bracket and lights sent to the house maybe there was $20 for shipping I can't remember exactly. Could have been $220.00 total ????? Since I am electrically challanged and I put them on I am sure you can too. Take your time and get just do it. Clear a nice work area and cover it with towels or something soft and follow all the directions till you get to the connecting the wires to the bike part. There is a better way and someone will post or sent you the link to the "better way". Good luck and have fun. Steve aka Bubber

Thanks to everyone for the replies and the well wishers. I guess when you look at it and what others have to go through and hve gone through, getting a ticket is just about nothing. I read recently about the sicknesses and the other horrible this that have happened to their loved ones. I guess I'll just man up and do what I gotta do. It ain't like the Trooper knew me and had a gruge, he was out doing his job...what we pay him to do. No arguement there. Just unhappy with the circumstances and with myself. I am closing my end of this thread just because there has been such good advice I made a decission as to what to do. So Thanks all and those who didn't say what maybe they thought. See ya on the road and be safe all of you! See ya at the Pork in the Pines for sure. Thanks again! Steve

WHAT A BUNCH OF RESPONCES! Everthing from Pay up and shut up to Try to negotiate a lesser MPH. Well I gotta say this whole thing has been bothering me a lot since the ticket. No it ain't the money. I would pay the $160.00 in a heart beat if it all went away. But I don't believe it will just go away. The bottom line is the ticket will just keeps on giving and giving and giving (and not in a good way). The on line school is a doable thing and is probably a good refreasher anyway. Only thing is how do you get all the cagers to take the on line school too so they don't kill me or you because they are friggen around with their phone or computer while they drive? I have pretty much decided to go to court. Not to challange the officer but to put my two cents in and throw my sorry a$$ on the mercy of the court. 40 years of good driving record ought to stand for something. I really hate the thought of having it on my record too. Can't shake that feeling. I feel like I am bake in grade school and the principle is telling me "that is going to on your permanent record young man, do you realize that". Ya I need to get over it! Ya I need to make it go away. Ya I want my say! It must be that pig headed German in me. I just don't want to make it worse thats all. Stuck between a rock and a hard spot. Steve

Ok so Sunday the nice state trooper in Wisconsin decided he would give me a ticket (not to the policeman’s ball either. 68MPH in a 55MPH zone, which is a $160.00 invitation to court or just pay it and suffer the consequences with the insurance company. Before you ask I have no idea how fast I was going all I know is that I was going up a hill in the passing lane and the trooper was at the top of the hill with his laser radar on. The rest of the story is history as they say Please resist the funny comments I told them all to myself. I don’t know if I should fight it or just pony up the $160.00 and call it a day. My gut tells me to at least go to court and try to fight it. Anybody know any thing about laser radar? Accuracy? Problems with their use? Interference? Any LEOs out there that have any words of advice? Other than cough it up and get over it? If I don’t show up they find me guilty if the trooper doesn’t show, what happens then. Will they dismiss it? Not to happy with myself…. I haven’t had a ticket in over 40 years. Advice Please

I'll be glad to share my experience building my tear drop trailer with anyone. Things I would change....things I like..... things that would be nice to have... what ever. I gotta pay some stuff forward because one of the guys here (Eck) showed me that one good turn gets you to pay it forward and that in itself keeps the whole cycle going and going and going. Just like the energizer bunny! Yes I will be at the Pork in the Pines and I can tell you what ever you want to know about anything.....LOL Mr thinks he knows it all! (and I get proved wrong every other day) Steve AKA Bubber

Been there done that. Glad your OK and and that the injuries wern't any more serious. First words of advice don't be in a hurry to settle, have the bike evaluated and even dismantled if need be to find all the hidden damage. Never jump at the first offer the insurance company makes. There are so many sites out there selling damaged bikes and they make enough money on the damaged bikes selling it as a total to pay off the insured and have no loss to them. In Minnesota you can insist on new parts (at least for your car) be placed on your vehicle Vs used. They probably could find used parts anyway. If you have extras on the bike they also owe you for those. dig out your receipts. Proof is in the pudding as they say! KEY WORDS: LIKE! KIND! AND VALUE !!!!! These are the legal terms that they understand. Hold your ground ! Tell them you want it fixed to the condition it was pre-accident. If they total it get replacement cost from adds, dealers, Blue Book, what ever PLUS the extras. Remember if you take the extras off before you settle they don't owe you for them. Take them off afterwards. They don't give a rip about the extras after they total it. Just an object to them. GET YOU INSURANCE AGENT INVOLVED make him earn his premium. Hope that helps and good luck. Steve aka Bubber
