Sorry guys, as stated earlier this is not about guns and CCW it is about society and as stated in an earlier post "the ME generation". I used to be that it wasn't about "me" it was about family , neighbors, society. Now I get the feeling that everything and anything goes. This is just an example so don't go off on this. But this whole Bruce Jenner thing really rings my bell. I don't care that he is what ever he is, go for it. But stands up in front of the world and God and announces it so publically? Because someone trying to capitalize on it. Make money! I see no other reason. Pretty soon this will be the norm. When is the last time you saw someone standing n the corner and proclaimed they are straight and proud of it? Again the ME generation wants you to know they can and will do what ever they want, and they are proud of it. What's next? I can't even imagine what is lurking in the shadows to jump out and proclaim we are here and you will like it. WELL I DON"T LIKE IT! And I never will. I know these people exist that have these "conditions or deviant behavior " but it is not part of normal society at least the one I want to live in. AGAIN this was just an example of the ME, ME, ME attitude. I can coexist with these people but they feel obligated to shove it in societies face and tell us to get used to it and like it. Well that ain't ever gunna happen. How about doing what is good for the betterment of society? Yes there are many groups that do, charities and raising money for all kind of causes. God bless them for that. This group on this forum is pretty giving and generous toward their fellow man and that is a big draw for a lot of us, at least it is for me. So Eck's original post was basically "he was glad the guy got caught and the shooting should stop" SO YES ECK! I agree, I am glad he got caught, hope he is the one and hope they punish him for what he has done. Nothing more and nothing less.

What really scares me is that this has become the norm. I am not in favor of gun control so let's not even go there. This is an indictment of society as a whole. This total lack of discipline with our kids is BS. Trust me I was disciplined as a kid and I can honestly say I never got a spanking that I didn't deserve. The world sure has changed. Now you go to jail because your kids file assault charges for giving them a spanking. My own kids are finding out that their parenting skills don't really work if you give them a time out. Really sitting in the corner is something I am really going to remember and not want to do again??????? Whoa, makes me so scared. NOT!!!!!!! Problem is when your kids get to be teenagers it is 10 years to late. Not that I had the best parenting skills, we all make mistakes but at least I tried not to repeat them. All three of my girls are pretty good kids, good jobs, honest, don't do drugs and they make their own way in life. They must have learned something from their old man., even if it was don't do that. OK I haven't taken pictures at the PIP in years and have always counted on others to share their photos so I could see the stuff I missed. Hardly anyone posted pictures , just Elizabeth and EagleEye....... so what gives. I want to see pictures and I want to see them now............PLEASE, PRETTY PLEASE! Mine did it on the highway while I was passing a car. Yes it is the fuel pump and don't buy a new one buy the points and replace them. If for some reason you are not going to replace the pump, send it to me and I will fix it and have a spare to put on my shelf if it every happens again. Best of luck Bubber

Give him a fair trial then do to him what he tried to do the people on the highway. What is wrong with these people anyway? They can't all be mentally deficient, and by that I mean not just stupid as a box of rocks. I truly am confused why someone would try to kill a bunch of people they don't personally know and have done nothing to them. I seems every day someone just wants to kill a bunch of people for some unknown reason ..... even to them.

You have to mark it on your calendar now. It is always Labor Day weekend. First Monday in September. Heck I can remember that. Next year you'll have to show your invite when you show up.......... Well folks here it goes. Friday I had to pick up the last of the groceries before heading North to pick up the pig at the Backus Locker in Backus MN. The locker people were really nice and did a great job packing and smoking the guest of honor. I finally got to PIP around 3 pm and there already were others there ahead of me. Dang partying with out me. We got all the groceries unloaded and got down to business. Black Owl found a challenge with Marilyn cooking up a batch of secret recipe chilli handed down from the great northern gods from the tundra. We all agreed it was excellent. There was a final vote and as I remember it everyone voted twice once for each of the challengers. Lets call it a tie. Over in the corner a guy named EagleEye was cooking up his famous beans for the next day to go with the guest of honor. A few adult beverages latter and a lot af BS about bikes and everything else in our lives we headed to bed 2:00am or so. Saturday was the big day for the cooking of the Pig. We had the pig cut up in to 2 shoulder roasts, 2 hams (smoked), 2 rib slabs, smoked bacon, and sausage patties. Well our new chef in training really stepped up and not only cooked up mr. pig but him and his gang of culinary experts put on a real spread. Garden salads, potato salad, cucumber salad, hard boiled eggs, dang there was so much I hardly remember it all it was kind of like a blurrrrrrrrr. Congrates to Red and all his helpers, that was absolutely the best pork we have had, and he has set a very high bar for next year. YEAH RED!!!!!!!! After the meal and a little clean up we had a little auction to raise seed money for next years PIP. Let me tell you the people that donated items and the people that purchased these items were very, very, generous. A special Thanks to SlowrollWV for his donation of two sets of carb covers. It was a winner and a good money raiser too. There was a guy there we had not seen in a while do to some life challenges, we were happy to extend a warm welcome and return to Tequila Pet. And of course he had his name sake adult beverage. We had a very special individual get an award this year. He has been in attendance for a number of years and has made the whole gathering better for all that know him. The award was a lifetime membership to our group for this he was given a certificate and a new handle. From that day forward he shall be known by his new handle of "SideCar". Congrates my friend, you had more than one of those big ugly mugs in attendance in tears over seeing the joy and appreciation in your eyes. You are now and forever one of us. So we had a little rain on Saturday and even on Sunday a mere 3" of rain. Not to worry we carried on like nothing happened Getting back to the action we had all kinds of items, two motorcycle models that our new member SideCar won, tools, a leather jacket, a blinking "Show me your @#$s" sign, a dream catcher made with the PIP 10th Anniversary patches, and almost everyone's favorite a fresh can of "Fish A$$ Holes". Good luck getting that back into Canada. OH Ya, as long as I am on the subject, I don't have an exact count but the rumor is the Canadians out numbered the Americans...... AGAIN!!!!!!!!! Moving on to Sunday, the chef and crew made breakfast for the group. As I remember it we had hash browns, eggs any way you wanted them as long as they were scrambled, sausage patties, bacon and all the other fixens that were available. Funny nobody walked away hungry. Sunday was spent ridding, relaxing and general tom foolery. Sunday night we had a camp fire out back and the conversations were loud funny and boisterous to say the least. I know at least three young ladies that were laughing so hard that there was talk of tinkling in their panties. Just Saying. I myself laughed and laughed and was crying I was laughing so hard. I needed that, I had a rough couple of weeks prior to the PIP. Thanks everyone, you will never know that, that felt so good to be there with our extended crazy family. Those darn Canadians sure know how to laugh and tell good stories. I specifically am pointing at Laura who will go unnamed. OOOPPPs I think I made a boo boo there, Oh well sue me! Another 2:00am night. Monday was the clean up, pack-up day and making sure everybody got home safe and sound. I want to thank all those that didn't and don't get mentioned for their contribution to this years PIP. A great thanks to Chef Red for the fabulous meals and food preparation. Black owl for the previous 10 years of making this event happen. Sarge46 for his making all the things happen that just need to get done and aren't so glamerous but still need to get done. Gary and Ann for the use of their property and letting us invade there home and garage for the last 10 years. To all those that shucked corn, cut up vegetables for salads, boiled potato's, lifted toted and generally jumped in when they saw something to get done. Other notable occurrences: Tom is the only person that can start his bike on fire in the middle of a rain storm We made a young man very happy this weekend by showing a little compassion and love. Beside he made us all cry with joy. No animals or people were hurt in the putting on of this event except for Mr. Pig. I had a great time, as I always do, and I really need a good laugh and to forget about the world around me for a little while. Thanks for that!!! WHAT A GREAT BUNCH OF GUYS AND GALS. HEY LETS DO IT AGAIN NEXT YEAR......... SSSSHHHISH DON'T TELL GARY AND ANN. IT'LL BE A SURPRISE!!!!!!!! AND NO ROOSTER EITHER. OVER AND OUT MY MERRY BAND AND BUNCH OF MISFITS TILL NEXT SEPTEMBER WHEN THE PIG RETURNS TO LaPORTE FOR YEAR 11.

For all who can't make it, so sorry to hear that. But we will carry on and have a good time without you. We will tell stories about you at the camp fire and toast your memory. Here i sit wondering what I have forgotten, what I will leave behind, what I really need and what I should take. I am leaving for PIP first thing in the morning, I have to finish getting the groceries, something to drink oh ya pick up the guest of honor, the pig in Baxter, then on to Gary's where I can forget my worldly problems and work my a$$ of cooking, making salads, preparing food. Yes you volunteered and I can find no what I mean is I have witnesses that will swear that you were almost sober when you so enthusiastically volunteered. That is my story and I am sticking to it. Not to worry I volunteered a whole bunch of people to help, they just don't know it yet. Bubber

Sorry to hear that the working stuff is getting in the way. I only have a year to get my $hit together so that won't be a problem for me anymore. I hope people bring cameras because I am really bad at remembering to take pictures. Sorry to hear of the people that have a conflict to the PIP, as stated before this is the 10th Anniversary so it should be a good time. Pig is ordered and waiting for me to pick it up next Friday. Went to Sam's club and picked up a lot of supplies in bulk today. Used my boss to get me in because he is a member. Still need to get some other supplies but I will be doing that tomorrow. Perishable supplies to be picked up Friday on my way or at the local shopping near PIP. My living room looks like a small grocery store. I am getting excited and cant wait to see everyone again. We have extra help with the PIP this year. A new chef in training that I volunteered and they graciously accepted. Gary and Anne who let us invade their life and property for four days. A Canadian who knows how to keep things in order. And his beautiful wife who you really don't want to P*** off. And me, a know it all supervisor or all around gopher. Duck tape is a fantastic product and the folk that make it are real good about the quality, but I am here to say it is really hard to wrap a duck with the stuff. Those feathers just keep coming off in clumps. Bubber
