  2. Well, you wouldn't believe the can of worms that my OP opened up on another forum. I DO NOT want that to happen here so, if it does, I'm formally requesting one of the moderators to delete this whole thread. My apologies.
  3. You callin me a fool .... FOOL!
  4. Let's take that one a step further then. Here in BC, Canada (and in several other provinces) we have what is called "Family Day" ... it's a paid holiday. Now, if you don't have a family, get back to work! LOL Really, they are getting their "religious" day off with pay ... it just so happens that THAT day is Dec 25th. As for the Athiests (like me), Dec 25th is for when Santa Claus comes. (now let's not go turning this into a religious debate coz we all know what will happen then.... right Don?)
  5. Some things take longer to learn for some of us. Thankfully drinking and NOT driving is one I finally learned about 15 years ago. Prior to then, I'm still surprised I never killed or injured anyone or even got a DUI. One 24 hr suspension and I shed my stupidity ... (at least for that )
  6. Saying Merry Christmas is now considered racist and offensive. Well, if you're offended, here's two words for you... Merry Christmas

  20. As long as a person does not upgrade various software apps, etc that require a newer version of Windows, you can still run WinXP. Here at the office, all of our CSRs use WinXP and the software is in-house developed. The only app that might at some time require upgrading is IE. That said, if the time comes that we are forced to upgrade IE, then we will probably have to upgrade Windows. By that time though (probably May 2014) we will be replacing all our workstations and you can be sure that they will be running Win7. Just ordered 2 new laptops from Dell and got them with Win7 Pro and a "free" Win8 upgrade (if and when we desire to go to Win8)
  21. And this morning here, it is 15 F ( -9 c ) and as GeorgeS says... we have hardly seen any cloud (and no rain) for the past two or maybe even 3 weeks. Our normal temps at this time are +7 celcius highs and +1 celcius low overnight. Forecast is for ss s s s s snow by mid week but at least temps will be a bit milder (dang! a guy just can't have it all, can he...)
  22. Sounds like y'all are getting worse weather than we are here on the "wet coast" of Canada. While it's been a tad cold ( -5 c overnight, + 1 to 3 daytime), we've had relatively clear skies and very little wind. Can't say the same for the interior regions tho ... bitterly cold and snow in those areas. I do hope this isn't the "calm before the storm" coz it can get real ugly around here.
  23. "other crooks" .... Exactly!! Don't know if you intended to link the two this way but if I know you, you probably did!
  24. Facebook allows me to communicate (for free) with family and friends who are in far away places. When I post things on FB, I can choose who sees what. I can also choose who can see my info. Those who have issues with FB probably have not set up these "protections". Don't get me wrong tho ... I am not a FB fanatic like a lot of folk are but I do find it useful at times. btw, you can search for (and find) me on FB .... you will not see much.
