1. and it is for that reason I have been lurking more than posting lately ...
2. Sorta..... Not really mine but my daughter posted this on my facebook
3. Decided to go for a ride yesterday. It was kinda cold and foggy. I normally wear a hat on days like that and when I ride on those days, I throw my hoodie over my head before I put my helmet on (taking the hat off first of couse). So, got the hoodie up and helmet on and I'm having a heck of a time clicking the snaps on the helmet strap (I installed snaps and did away with the D-ring). Finally got the danged thing snapped up but it was almost chocking me... couldn't figure out why at the time. Anyhoo, went to get my hat to throw into the trunk .... couldn't find it. Hollered to Nina "did you see where I set my hat down?" ... "Nope" she says .... then I realized what I'd done .... (forgot to take my hat off before I put the hoodie up and helmet on)
4. Ya, been on that new hwy couple times now. It's great! Well, I'm getting close to leaving the office, finally. This has been the worst rebuild of a server I've ever encountered. RAID controller issues on top of everything else but it's back up and running now and just doing some final tests to ensure all is working correctly and then I'm outta here! Should be getting some saddle time tomorrow!
5. I'm at the office working today so while outside getting a bite to eat, I snapped some pics. Jan 25th ... bright blue sky, warm sun, temp a wonderful 11 degrees celcius ...... and I have to work :crying: The office building had a major power outage Thursday afternoon and it really screwed up one of our servers which just happens to be the main file server. Did the best I could to get the staff operational yesterday but today I'm doing a complete rebuild and restore. Am I a happy camper??? NOT! I had originally planned to go riding ... oh well, tomorrow is another day
6. I tried to "friend" myself ............. got refused!
7. "Friends" might lend you money .... and not bug you to repay it .... NO?
8. I share your opinion and I am all for legalization. Similarly, they should legalize prostitution. With those two things legalized, it would dramatically reduce the "petty" crime rate IMO.
9. Not exactly true. for example, I was playing with Debian based Corel Linux in 1999. It was a full-featured OS and being that it was from Corel, even included WordPerfect. I could network it to Microsoft OS based computers, read/write to their file system, surf the web, print, send faxes, you name it. It was ready, but folks just weren't. From Wikipedia... Corel Linux, also called Corel LinuxOS, was a Debian-based operating system made by Corel that began beta testing on September 21, 1999[1] and was released to the public on November 15, 1999. It mainly competed against Windows 98 and Windows 2000 by Microsoft, plus Mac OS 9 by Apple.
10. As much as Microsoft Pi$$es me off, it certainly has provided me a good living for the past 25 years LOL!
11. LOL Brian, I've been sitting on the fence with Linux since around 1999. Just had too many things I used Windows for here at home but I finally forced myself to find alternative ways to do what I do ... and I did! As it turns out, nowadays I don't need to support clients using my home system. Now I have to do the same for the office computers and applications they use but I'm doubtful that will materialize as our phone system, which is being replaced this summer, doesn't show Linux as being a compatible OS and I have my doubts it will run in a VM ... but I've yet to research that. And that is only the beginning.
12. Dell is also pushing Win7 for their "business class" workstations and laptops. Systems come with Win7 Pro and a Win8 upgrade licence.
13. XP Emulation? Are you referring to "wine"? If so, do not rely on that... install VM Ware or some other compatible Virtual Machine and install WinXP SP2 in it. I'm running Linux Mint 15 and Oracle VM Virtual box.
14. is there a variable speed model?
15. You can install virtual machine software on Linux distro's and run WinXP with your games. I use Linux Mint 15 at home with a Win7 VM and I like it. FWIW, as an "old timer" in the IT biz (since 1987), I've taught and worked with every Windows version since Windows began with exception of Win8. Four versions were standouts: Win-4-Workstations 3.1, Win NT, WinXP, Win7 As n IT pro, I refuse to move from WinXP to Win8 in my workplace. Win7 or Linux will be the only considerations.
16. Do these come with batteries?
17. If so, let's hear what you have to say. If not, let's hear what you think. http://www.missinglnk.com/product/jackets-2/mens-rival-jacket/
18. I'm with ya Eck ... was out for 4.5 hours yesterday ... first ride since Nov 11th. Sure did need the warmth of heated grips, seat, and vest tho as it's still a bit "nippy" but at least it wasn't raining (or snowing LOL). Felt great but it will take a few more rides to cure my PMS!
19. I'm envious! Have an awesome holiday / 2nd honeymoon ... you and your wife deserve it.
20. I hate you! (coz I have no hair)
21. ummmmmmmmm... isn't that saying that it is just me?
22. Guess I'm in trouble tho as most of that made no sense at all to me....
23. "quick" being the operative word!
24. With respect to the Leesur-Lite Excel trailer, I agree ... wife and I loved it. It sets up in a minute unless you have the add-a-room and awning ... those will take appx 1/2 hr. As for towing it, I disagree somewhat with the above ... if you're on flats or slight hills, you hardly know it's behind you. Steeper hills or stop-and-go traffic, parking lots, slow speed, uneven pavement turns, etc .... not so great behind an RSV but a person can get used to that. I sold my RSV and bought a Wing for 2 reason's ... one was ease of towing that trailer with a Wing. It did not matter how steep the hills were or how slow I was going, it pulled that trailer with exceptional ease. FWIW, I'm not a big, burly strong man so even riding the RSV at slow speeds, stop-and-go, uneven roads at slow speed was a challenge for me without the trailer. The Wing was effortless to drive, so is the Vic. To graphically demonstrate the hill climbing ability, towing the leesur-lite with the RSV versus the Wing .... here's a grade chart of one of the highways we often ride on ... Going over that with the RSV, I was down to 3rd gear and full throttle at times, maybe running 80-90 km/h. With the Wing, never left 5th gear and full throttle I could pull the steepest grade at least 140 km/h. (just tryin to tell it like it is)
25. I've seen this one before and it wasn't Saddlebum then ... ???
