1. I got TWO!! Ain't I special!
2. I didn't have the luxury but I have been out with others on their boats and have done some water skiing years ago when I was about 1/2 my current age LOL. Got to be fairly good and was at the stage where I felt I could solo .... unfortunately things changed and I never got out again for maybe 20 years. By then, I'd lost all my strength and coordination and had to start all over .... but that's as far as I got ... start. Well, I will try it again but I'm not expecting much ... but I do love getting up on the skiis.
3.
4. That would be a great retirement plan .... but I think we'll only have money enuf for one "toy" and the bike will ALWAYS come first!
5. Considering the age of this boat and the price I paid, and that I'll probably get rid of it in 3 yrs when I retire (coz I won't be able to afford the thing then), I figure I'll break even. Heck, even if I wind up selling for a grand less, that's worth it. Interesting the "negative" comments posted ... seems they surface faster than the positive ones LOL ... kinda like "Joe Shopper" that never says anything good about his shopping experiences but doesn't hesitate to tell the world about the negative ones.
6. possibly ....
7. BOAT !!! Looks like the scoot will be seeing less road time .... picked this up yesterday.
8. I couldn't watch more than a minute ... had to close it
9. I tried one of them last year at their demo days .... hated it. Wayyyy to "sensitive" ... I felt I was all over the road ... kinda like in the old days when the idler arm of my car was worn out (which seemed to happen on most of my old clunkers in those days) LOL
10. And those are the "operative" words. Get yourself a 1st gen Venture. You have all the comforts of a touring bike coupled with the handling and power of a sport-touring. There's lots of really good ones to be had at a very reasonable price. If you're looking at '83-'85, make sure the 2nd gear issue has been looked after. FWIW, those were the best years IMO.
11. Saw this sitting at a bike shop today ... I'm almost speechless!
12. Gutted the CATs on my Vic shortly after I bought it. HUGE difference in the amount of heat, especially under the passenger floorboards. Do notice an increase in exhaust sound.
13. No pics but, in the following order... 1952 Merc 4dr. That was in 1964. It was a "fill 'er up with oil and check the gas". Paid $20 for it and rolled it 6 months after I got it. 1951 Chev 4dr. Blew a con rod in that one and continued to drive it... made a he!! of a racket LOL ... didn't last long. 1953 Ford Custom 4dr. Got that one around 1967. Got drunk and nailed another car in an intersection. Lost my licence and spent a couple weeks in the hoosegow. 1955 Ford Custom. Had that for a month and traded it back to original owner for a 1955 Merc. 1955 Merc. Drove that from Sudbury, ON to Vancouver, BC on siphoned gas LOL. Tranny went out in Van so it went to the junkyard. That was 1968. 1958 Chev Impala convertible with 348 engine. Coolest car I've ever owned. Those are from way back in the early days. Since then I've had so many I can't even remember a lot of them. As I recall, we did this here a few years back and I think I managed to compile a complete list then.
14. You had snow up there recently too, didn't you? Mother nature's "schedule" is a bit off here too as the weekends have generally been wet although we have had a few nice one's here and there. Today is forecast for sun and 17c so we'll be in the saddle for sure!
15. I've been called a "mother ...." a few times so, thanks!
16. This week's forecast. ... but, the only riding I'll be doing is from the seat of my office chair! :crying:
17. Lookin good there Brian! Are you sure that was taken May 9th? There's no leaves on the trees and the grass is all brown ....
18. on second look, I see it was Nina's thumb that is the second one ... so that's still one thumb for me Thought about that afterwards, but I don't have a "first" pic .. but here's a first after the paint work...
19. First pic of my new to me '06 RSMV with 1297 kms on it. This was in 2008 First pic of my '13 CCT with 3 kms on it. This was last year, May 14th.
20. That is awesome! Hope ya got more than one pic of that!
21. My '03 Wing had the Traxxion suspension upgrade and it was amazing in the twisties but I was always scraping the pegs. I do that too ... was Harley demo days last Sunday ... got rained out. Again at another dealer this coming sunday ... and rain in forecast all weekend
22. Or a Victory XCT or Vision .... these things handle the twisties better than any Wing (unless the Wing has Traxxion suspension). I've hit a few bad bumps while in a hard lean and the bike is remarkably stable. Difference between a Wing and a Vic is you'll scrape the pegs much sooner on the Wing.
23. Here is a thread or post that has a template for making your own. I made mine from a piece of 2" wide 1/8" thick aluminum. Cost almost nothing. check this link http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showpost.php?p=112227&postcount=7
24. That would suggest the tire was manufactured long before you bought it. There is a way to determine this but I forgot. Someone else will chime in maybe. I ran E3's on my RSV no problem with cracking and they are stock on my Vic.
25. Isn't wine made from grapes? So if we're drinking wine, aren't we drinking grape juice?
