    Done deal

Congrats my friend ... glad to hear you "moved up" ... now if only you could move back in LOL Don't forget about those pics!
  2. We'll be staying at Rio Viento RV Park Apr 6 or 7th depending if I can drive the whole distance from Morow Bay in one day. Leaving there on the 10th. Sent you a PM with my phone #
  3. Sounds great and by all means, see if Rich99 can join ... we remember him from the first VW we attended in Los Osos. Hope the rain goes elsewhere LOL We chose Rio Viento out of a few others due to location, amenities, and price. Vic's friend had recommended a couple RV campsites but they were simply too expensive for our blood.
  4. Been meaning to contact you ... have you heard from Vic? We're scheduled to arrive in the Walnut Grove CA area Apr 6 or 7th. We'll be staying at Rio Viento RV Park ... leaving Apr 10. The plan was/is we'd stay somewhere mid-way between you and Vic in hopes that you all can come for a visit. Pretty sure Vic will be there. Hope you can make it too.
  5. Snapped this while we were in Oatman, AZ yesterday.
  6. I didn't read the entire list so this one might be on there... saddling your parked bike and having the side stand break ... and over you go! (how would I know this LOL)
  7. There's a lot of BLM camping all over that area ... don't know if it's free or not but I do know it's a heck of a lot cheaper than RV campgrounds. As we were passing through the area we saw hundreds of "boondockers". Thing about that is you have zero services an RV campground offers ... which is quite OK but you need to have the right equipment and preparations. We're pretty well set up for that .... just haven't done it .... other than Walmart parking lots and rest stops LOL
  8. Didn't stop at Quartzsite...continued on to Lake Havasu...been here a week now and departing Monday. Highs in the low 30's celcuis thru this week end!! woooohoooo
  9. Well it has been a long winter and I was just sitting here thinking about how similar motorcycles are to women and/or marriage. Here is my list of reasons: Once you have one you don't want anyone else to touch or ride it. Some guys only get new ones that have never been ridden while other guys prefer used models. You see a bike that you instantly love and decide to get, then after a little while you can't stand it and it costs you a fortune to get out of it. Some guys like Japanese, some American and some European. Personally I think the Italians are the sexiest but they have very high maintenance costs. When you are 16 you want to ride all the time, a couple of times a day, when you are older you are happy if you get to ride once a week. Some guys like dirty bikes. Some guys put on protection before they ride, others just hope right on. I know that sometimes my bike won't start very well, I have to warm her up for a while. Some guys like a hard seat, other prefer more cushy. As soon as some guys get a new bike they want to start test riding others. Some guys like to go for short rides and others prefer longer rides. If you are far away from home, some guys like to just rent one and go for a quick ride. There is nothing wrong with looking at another guys bike. The exhaust on my bike is too loud. I don't know about you but my bike cost me a fortune. Some guys don't like bikes, they only ride cars. Even after you get rid of one, it can still come back and bite you in the ass.
  10. Like djh3 points out, the Victory Cross Country Tour is as close to your Venture and a Harley in styling as you can get. Thing is, they are so easy to handle and way more dependable than a Harley PLUS, simple oil changes ... frankly you can't go wrong IMHO. Try one or two before you commit, you will be pleasantly surprised.
  11. Dang! As it turns out I may not make it today either. Took my truck in for service (2016 RAM 3500 diesel) on Monday ... oil change, filters (including fuel), serpentine belt, rotate tires, brakes front and rear, water pump recall, 2 new batteries, injector service ... and after they finished the injector service, they couldn't get it started. Was supposed to be done last night ... thing is still in the shop this morning and I have no idea when it will be ready ... might have to stay here another night!
  12. This is why I'm camped in Arizona ... Yuma to be specific ... heading for Quartzsite Wednesday for 2 weeks. Warm sunny weather with low humidity!
  13. and here I am, all alone and basking in the west Texas sun and warmth while my wife, who flew hom to greet our new granddaughter, is donning snowshoes to get around in Vancouver ..... ohhhh I feel so bad for y'all .... NOT!
  14. That's what I had on my Victory ... simple install and made a huge difference ... rather good looking also ... (the foot pegs, not me )
  15. Not that one ... the one who was doing an iron butt report for some magazine.
  16. Forgot who was doing it so can't seem to find anything.
  17. I can't even count the number of times I've mentioned this here over the years ... try Maxthon ... I've been using it forever (at least since it was first released as MyIE). I tend to stay away from Microsoft web browsers of any kind ... too many problems ... same with Firefox. Chrome is generally OK but doesn't have many of the built-in features of Maxthon.
  18. Have you considered a pool exercise program? My wife does aquatic yoga and loves it because the water takes all the weight off the body and you still get a good workout.
  19. Try a different web browser (if that's possible). If not, do a roll-back on the Windows update.
  20. I can vouch for that ... my wife is a master at making delicious meals out of leftovers!
  21. To lose weight, you need to create an energy deficit by eating fewer calories or increasing the number of calories you burn through physical activity or both.
  22. That being the case, I'm surprised more 1st and 2nd genners aren't jumping ship to a air-cooled twin
  23. Well puc, I honestly believe that I disagree with what you honestly believe, believe me! LOL
  24. Harley, Indian, Victory, and now Yamaha all share a common complaint ... cooked legs. One would think by now the manufacturers of all these bikes would have come up with a REAL solution to this as it has been an issue for years. When I demo rode the Indian I couldn't wait to get off it coz my inner right thigh was getting so hot I could almost smell skin burning. My Victory toasted my lower right leg and Nina's foot. Luckily I was able to cure that by removing the CATs, changing the mufflers to a freer flow performance product, and installing a power commander. Is this what owners of the new Yamma are going to have to do? These types of mods should not be necessary to rectify a design FLAW IMHO.
  25. Dang ... a bit far for us to drive and Nina is flying home on feb 20th coz Cassidy's baby is due (our first grand daughter)! So glad we're no where near Alberta LOL. Currently we're about 45 min inland from South Padre Island, TX. Leaving for Quartzsite, AZ on Mar 1st. Nina returns Mar 13.
