  10. Just had this emailed to me .... You may enjoy watching this video. For those from Alberta, you gotta love this song, don’t ya think? Anyway, you’ll likely notice Hollywood legend and proud Canadian Leslie Nielsen in the video. Nielson’s father was a Mountie and one of Leslie’s two brothers, the eldest, was in fact the Deputy Prime Minister of Canada from ‘84 – ‘86. And, I bet you didn’t know that Nielsen was legally deaf, having to wear hearing aids most of his life. Nielson was always an ardent supporter of the Mounties, right up until his 2010 death in Florida, from pneumonia of all things. I’ve always wondered how one catches pneumonia in Florida?? Nielsen had the words, “Let ‘er rip” inscribed as his epitaph. Quite the fellow. Enjoy www.youtube.com/embed/Wu4krJJkkIs?feature=player_detailpage

My old 1979 Honda Civic woulda got you in there ... best danged vehicle in deep snow I ever had LOL but I never had a beetle either.
  16. Eventually, one or more of those pins on the side cover that push into the rubber grommet to hold the cover on will BREAK. I figgure somewhere there is another thread about this but, here's mine... Using a dremel tool (or whatever else works), file down any protruding pieces from the broken pin so that the base is flat. Get yourself one of these "Ball Studs" ... I finally found some at a local automotive parts retailer (Lordco). http://gl1800riders.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=73456&d=1355002687&thumb=1 Grind down one edge of the ball similar to what you see in the pic here and test that it fits into the rubber grommet on the bike. You may need a bit of lube for that hole *snikker*. It should be a snug fit (oh yeah!!). Drill a hole into the the flattened base the same size as the threads on the Ball Stud (or a shade smaller but not bigger). Be careful to not drill through to the outside. Test the Ball Stud for fit into the hole and ream the hole out a bit if necessary. What you want is a snug fit, so that you have to "thread" the Ball Stud into the hole. Then, cut the Ball Stud (thread side) down so that it can be threaded all the way in to the base. Mix up some 2-part ABS epoxy (I used the 5 minute kind) and smear some onto the threads and into the hole. Screw the Ball Stud in to where it is flush. Fill up the open slot area with some more epoxy. http://gl1800riders.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=73457&d=1355002700&thumb=1http://gl1800riders.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=73458&d=1355002712&thumb=1http://gl1800riders.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=73459&d=1355002723&thumb=1http://gl1800riders.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=73460&d=1355002736&thumb=1
  17. Find a Ball Stud ... they can generally be found at automotive parts places. Weld it into the base where the original stud was. I have some documentation for this at home and can post it tonight.
  18. The low lines are HP and the high lines are Torque. Blue is before, Red is after tune. Yes, at the wheel. They had to disconnect the nitrous coz they didn't want to blow up the dyno machine.
  19. 16 celcius yesterday ... same or warmer today. :dancefool:
  20. I took my Vic to a shop yesterday and had it dyno tuned. Quite happy with the results. Max HP = 89.02 Max Torque = 107.48
  21. The weather this year has been really f&^%ed up, even here. Pretty much everywhere east of the rockies is getting tons of snow and cold temps, much more so than normal. Here on the west coast we've had record high temps on a regular basis and hardly any snow. Where I live, we had snow one day back in November which amounted to maybe 5 cm (appx 2 inches). Higher up in the mountains it snowed much more but it's practically all gone now. That shouldn't happen till late May or early June. Local Ski hills have been closed for weeks due to lack of snow yet normally there's tons of it right thru to early May. If this keeps up we are going to have major water shortages and a bad year for forest fires.
