  1. Agreed! However, I should have mentioned ... it's a rare occasion that I am out riding solo. Nina is almost always with me and I've never heard any complaints about heat from her. DITTO!
  2. I have lived in the Vancouver area for 15 years and during that time have had 6 different bikes … an 85 VR, and 87 VR, an 06 RSMV, an 03 Wing, an 05 Road Star, and a 13 Victory CCT. I can tell you from my experience being in those traffic jams many times that the air cooled Vic and the air cooled Roady felt minimally hotter than the other liquid cooled bikes. Minimally meaning not enough to be an issue.
  3. We bought and paid for our last bike (a 2013 Victory CCT) by 2015, We also bought and paid for our home between 2014 and 2017. On top of tha we bought and paid for our 5th wheel trailer so that when we both retired at age 70 we could do a 9 month tour of Canada and the USA. These were all things we set out to do and did. We sold the bike and the home and now we're looking to buy another home in a different area. That's where our money is now going .. another motorcycle just isn't in that plan. However, plans do change LOL
  4. @YamahaParExcellence...you do realize I'm just yankin yer chain eh? As I said, I'm super envious .. wish I had the finances to get a new Venture but now that I'm retired, it's just not within my reach ... unless of course I wins the Lotto!
  5. Your posts are starting to make me wonder if you're some kind of a "promoter" hired by Yamaha to infiltrate these forums and do everything possible to get the die-hards and nay-sayers to change their tune ..... Frankly though, it might appear you're worth your money coz even though I'm not "one of those", you sure as h3LL got me fired up LOL Can't wait to read your commentary after you've received your "baby" and have put a few sMiles on her. am I envious? YOU BETCHA BOB!
  6. Not cheaper than in the US, just cheaper than regular gas up here.
  7. YUP it's friggin crazy expensive up here but what's puzzling is diesel is cheaper here whereas in the US, it's more than gas
  8. Good point ... if they ask you a question such as "have you ever used marijuana" or any similar question ... say NO ... even if you have.
  9. The title of this thread made me think about it... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?135890-Eyes-open-wide-today-s-visit-to-my-friendly-HD-dealer-(Bring-Money-) What does Harley and BC, Canada have in common? . . . . BC = Bring Cash ! :mo money:
  10. The position of the CATs on the Victory CCT also caused excessive heat for both the rider's and passenger's right foot / leg. I removed them on my Vic and it made a huge improvement.
  11. Following @cowpuc 's post I'm wondering if that sales person a) knew his product and/or b) showed you a standard RG (if there is such an animal) ... (not an Ultra)?
  12. Great to hear! Now where are those pics coz as you know.....
  13. So ... are ya gonna tell us what you paid for it? (surely the dealership took it into inventory for less than $1,000 ???)
  14. Stopped in at the local Honda / Yamaha / Kawasaki dealer today in hopes of seeing a new Venture.... And I lucked out ... not only did I see the new Eluder, they also had 4 new Goldwings (2 with SOLD signs on them) There wasn't any new Venture, just one Eluder. Those Honda's are, IMO, one sweet machine. They appear to be much smaller than the previous generation. On the other hand, the Eluder appears much bigger. I so wanted to straddle them but they don't allow ya to do that.
  15. Well yanno, at 71 I seem to be starting to forget things …
  16. Look at it this way .... you can now use that speech over and over for anyone else and you won't have to waste an hour writing it ... (there's always a silvr lining )
  17. Not a chance in h3LL that will ever happen ( unless I want to be single again)
  18. But you wouldn't miss ME??? I’m devastated! That’s it buddy, no more free lunches for you!
  19. ya, guess I'll just have to cut back on my alcohol consumption !
  20. Thought I had an amicable separation after 28 years ... the amicable part lasted 10 years ... then she came after me for $50,000 in spousal support arrears ... all after we had agreed to end that. FWIW, she didn't get the 50 but it still cost me almost 10 grand in lawyers and court fees. Hope your separation doesn't end up like mine. Hope you made it legal. All the best!
  21. Well I couldn't do it ... I'm friggin addicted to y'all so I paid my dues!
  22. Actually, if I had stayed with the F350, it would have cost us more as I can sell this diesel for almost what I paid for it.
  23. Y'all ... I'll not be renewing my membership here. It's a simple matter of econmics although some might think the few extra $$$ is nothing but frankly, the CAD/US exchange rate right now is ridiculously high and now that we're retired, corners have to be shaved everywhere. Our 6 & 1/2 month "adventure" in the USA with our 5th wheel blew the budget. We're not broke but that trip left us with wayyyy less savings than we ever anticipated all because of the exchange rate. Y'all can still communicate with us on facebook or my personal email which is rickyerex at gmail dot com
