  1. hahaha .... we'll be buying another tent trailer when we retire for our cross-Canada / USA trip. But that's no major expense needing financing. Other than that, I don't think Nina will allow any more big purchases ... I've about worn out all my "forgivenesses" LOL
  2. With respect to the term "mental disorder", I refuse to answer on the grounds it might incriminate me.....
  3. Don't drive in Finland... http://www.torontosun.com/2015/04/27/finnish-millionaire-hit-with-71000-speeding-ticket
  4. That could be interesting; however, candy colors are generally applied over silver or gold base. They are probably the most difficult to apply as it requires several "thin" and very even coats to obtain a decent end result.
  5. ya, I was clipping my toenails last night and found a couple hairs...

  11. There's been many times in my life I've been out of work and had payments on this and that to deal with. Went bankrupt in 2003 and swore I'd never let that happen again. Been very fortunate since 2006 to be able to purchase 3 different bikes, a truck, a tent trailer, a boat, and pay off my ex. If all things remain as they are, our mortgage will be paid off in 2 years and we'll be able to retire with a few dollars extra. I learned from my mistakes the hard way ... just wish I'd learned this lesson 40 years ago! hope you find work soon bro
  12. The loan on our Victory was originally due May 2016. Being an oldster, I'd forgotten that I'd paid extra from time to time since we bought it in May 2013. Well, I hadn't completely forgotten ... just forgot how much. Checked my loan balance last night and I only had 4 payments left and a balance of $2076 owing so I just paid the sukka out today!! :mo money: Aside from our mortgage, we are now completely free of debt!!! What a great feeling! :dancefool: :dancefool: :fatsmiley:
  13. Prednizone .... isn't that a brand of anti-freeze???

  16. Went for a ride yesterday (Sunday) and wound up at another Harley dealer where demo days were happenin. Got to ride the Ultra Limited "Low". .. the GREEN one!! Really like that green LOL Seat is less padded and frame is dropped 1.5 inches. As well, the handle bars are slightly different in that they're curved inwards a bit. Very different feel compared to the regular Ultra because of that. Felt like I was sitting too far forward and by the end of the demo ride I could tell that my back would get sore before too long. Maybe a backrest would help. Compared to my Vic, the floorboards on both Harleys felt very cramped and leg position was uncomfortable. I kept having difficulty getting on the foot brake. Lot more wind against the knees, bottom of my arms and shoulders compared to the Vic. Plus side, the Ultra is very smooth and nimble. Not as powerful as my Vic but still ample get up and go for anyone's needs. For me, the Vic wins hands down in power, rider comfort / ergonomics. Handling is about equal but different. Harley wins on paint quality. FWIW, I noticed zero engine heat on the Harley.
  17. Well this past weekend I got my "Harley Fix". It was demo days at 2 different dealers Sat & Sun so I rode the Ultra Limited Saturday and the Ultra Limited "Low" Sunday. Posted that here ----> http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?102413-Having-Fun-at-Harley-Demo-Days
  18. A Little 10-year-old girl was walking home, alone, from school one day, when a big man on a black motorcycle pulls up beside her. After following along for a while, turns to her and asks, "Hey there little girl, do you want to go for a ride?" "NO!" says the little girl as she keeps on walking. The motorcyclist again pulls up beside her and asks, "Hey little girl, I will give you $10 if you hop on the back." "NO!" says the little girl again as she hurries down the street. The motorcyclist pulls up beside the little girl again and says, "Okay kid, my last offer! I'll give you 20 Bucks "and" a Big Bag of Candy if you will just hop on the back of my bike and we will go for a ride." Finally, the little girl stops and turns towards him and Screams Out... "Look Dad" "You're the one who bought the Honda instead of the Harley ...YOU RIDE IT!!
  19. Couple more ... https://youtu.be/SZN0MmiBmw4 https://youtu.be/KzatyaNJB3I
  20. Nina & I went for a ride on a new Ultra Limited. Still like these bikes and still would like to own one. (can anyone actually afford to OWN one? LOL) Couple pros & cons I noticed comparing to my Vic ... Limited space for positioning my feet ... about twice as much movement area on my Vic. More wind on my knees with the Harley. Definitely doesn't have the power my Vic has although the Harley is more torquey at lower rpm. The Harley is a smooth, comfortable ride and Nina really like the rear seat area. They now have a "Low" version which is a tad lower seating ... didn't get to ride that one but did sit on it and it seemed the ergonomics for the driver were better. It was also Victory Demo Days (which is basically across the street). We took a Vision out for a ride ... wasn't overly impressed ... just not my cuppa tea. A few vids for you to enjoy... or not LOL https://youtu.be/FkJpTuvxvIU https://youtu.be/Y_iUCWo0wtI
  21. I first came to this site in 2006 looking for technical info. Asked a question and immediately got an answer from a few members here. Then I started poking around, reading threads, etc and finding more valuable info. The more questions I asked, the more folks here would respond with helpful info. I got to know many of the members and then we attended a Venture West rally in Los Osos. I've been hooked on this site and everyone here ever since. It's like an addiction. I can barely get through a day without coming here to interact with my friends. So tell me ... where is there an addiction treatment center for this addiction when the drug is no longer available? ... There isn't one so that simply means this drug must never stop!
  22. I googled that and shore enuf, my symptoms are a match! I'll be doing just that in about 1.5 hours (a VicFix! like it!). Will also be getting a Harley fix cos today is Harley demo days and I always go to them if for nothing else but the entertainment.
  23. Just to clarify, that was not my words but rather, one of the members on the Vic forum.
  24. You're right Puc... I'm a "diseased person" LOL! For all who read what I've posted here, while I'd say I'm somewhat biased, my intent is purely for good reading material and information. Not tryin to sway anyone away from their fav scoot.
