  1. neither was birch bark... LOL
  2. Two things I found on my GL1800 that is a real PITA ... changing the air filter and changing headlight bulbs. I guess they had to make something difficult to offset the simplicity of removing the rear tire LOL.
  3. @Tooch I was able to right side up your bike with the help of some friends (Microsoft Picture Viewer lol) ... that's a pretty large mount for that space me thinks. I've been looking closely at the iPad mini which might be more suited for this kind of setup.
  4. Just talked to a coworker who's into Mac & iPads and apparently you can connect a bluetooth keyboard and mouse to them.
  5. Well I sure hope you two get through this with minimal expense and inconvenience. BTW congrats to your son!
  6. ya, I went there and looked and saw that too. I have used it from Linux to PC but the thing I don't quite get is how do you manipulate the keyboard and mouse on the PC end when running from an iPad?
  7. OMG, if it isn't one thing with these Venture riders, it's another ... something to do with the month of MAY it seems! Sorry to hear you're "all wet" Kev .... insurance on this?? Now please don't tell us this will cancel your trip to Yreka ...
  8. Would you mind posting a pic of this setup?
  9. Well said and feel the same!
  10. I've been tossing around the idea of getting an iPad for a while. My biggest concern is if I can connect to my work network with it using either VPN or some other software and then be able to control remotely my work PC. Anyone have first hand experience with this? Currently I connect using a program called Team Viewer which works pretty good in the Windows world.
  11. Did all my "prepping" this past Sunday. Upgraded the front speakers, took the bags off, washed the bike and gave the back wheel a good cleaning, checked tire pressures ... no change since 2 months ago. Oil was changed 3 weeks ago. Put the bags back on, waxed the bike, and went for a ride. Nothin more to do except wait for June 23rd...
  12. India? Me thinks more than the front wheel is off by 3/4 turn
  13. Tooch, glad to hear you're OK but I thought I said on the thread about Yammer that it was time to stop this... and now you! And I'm heading to Venture West June 23rd.... all of this is really starting to freak me out and I'm thinking maybe I've pushed my luck too far and it's time to hang up the guns! .. Geeesh .... NO MORE you guys! Be safe out there ... we don't want to be reading any more of this!
  14. OK, took me a minute to get that ... but hey, I just woke up ...
  15. hoping for a speedy and full recovery! What the heck is going on? Seems so many here have crashed recently. Let this be the end of it!
  16. Wicked !!
  17. Now that's FUNNY !
  18. Gosh yamagrl, you must have had a bad experience with a jigsaw...? I've cut down several shields using a jigsaw with no problems at all. I'd think using a router on high speed would cause melting, not to mention the difficulty you referred to about following a marked line.
  19. Crap ... so now I've been wrong twice!!
  20. I'm pretty sure those rails are designed for the 1st gen MKII ('86-'93) ... but they do appear to fit ok on the 2nd gen ... but then I could be wrong ... was once b'for ....
  21. Never tried the darkside on my Venture although I did go with a 130 front as well as the leveling links. Huge improvement but still wasn't enough for me. Went dark on my Wing and now darkside on my Vic. Will never go back to a MT on the rear. Only downside of a CT is it wants to ride off the high spots on the road so you get a bit of a swish-sway feeling but it's minimal and you get used to it. The pluses far outweigh that IMO.
  22. and nobody is gonna rust neither!
