Working in downtown Vancouver, BC I get approached at least once every day. I think I've heard every story there is, including the one's BlueSky stated ... several times by different people. On top of that, the same one's come around regularly and sometimes have a different story, sometimes in the very same day. My response is simply: What part of NO don't you understand.

They didn't have any of those in '06

Responses to my own threads not appearing when I click "New Posts" ???

No need for the RV section for that ... ya never know... my "down scaled" replacement bike might just be an older Royal Star. Not giving up riding completely, just scaling back a lot and doing something else instead. -

Of course not... who would want it ... but thanks for the compliment ! Kidding aside, your RG looks pretty nice but I've always leaned to the EG ... Lone Eagle's is amazing! -

ahhhhhhhhh that's right re: the links to ads ( I forgot about that ) .... but other threads of mine with new responses (aka new posts) should show up, shouldn't they? Maybe I'm just losing my cookies and missing them somehow .... (cookies meaning my mind) -
Get Maxthon .. I've been using it since it first came out back in the early 2000's as MyIE2 ... never have issues. Has built-in Ad Blocker too. http://www.maxthon.com/

We're sorry for hijacking the thread Don but don't you think maybe this open discussion might lead to the resolve you're after?

I've hosted, co-hosted, and assisted 3 Kruisn the Kootenays in Nelson, BC. There is no better area west of Ontario IMHO. Perhaps I'll consider volunteering myself but like others have stated and personal experience, it very much is a big job especially when doing it from afar. Unfortunately the biggest issue I see with holding a rally of this nature in that area is .... a lack of USA attendees

It's called "International" ... so maybe it's time it was held in CANADA ... eh? c'mon fellow Canucks!! (No, I'm not volunteering) Keep in mind your US dollar buys a lot more up here these days.

A few years back I picked up a damaged Lil Donk trailer that was flipped after the driver of one of those Stallions lost control and crashed. Guy I got the trailer from also had the damaged Stallion.

2016 VentureRider International Rally Discussion

This would now become the "International" rally ... LOL -
I have a Chev Silverado 1500 c/w factory trailer towing pkg. Owner's manual states it's good to pull up to 7,000 lb GVW trailer. Most of the trailers I've been looking at are well below that ... usually around 4,500 lb. Not sure of the pin weights, have yet to investigate that. So far have only been looking on-line. We're heading out this weekend to view some of them. All of them have the extended pin, some have slide-out. Speaking of "pin" .... We aren't going to hastily "pull the pin" ... mostly just gathering info, looking at different models, layouts, etc to get "educated" and a clear idea of what will work best for us. As for the Tent Trailer idea ... considered that, not really keen on the idea of another "tenting experience" LOL (the last time was a disaster with our Leesur-Lite)

Great info guys!!! Definitely some things I've not thought of. Thanks a ton!

So we're thinking about buying a travel trailer. Probably something older and under 6 grand (which there seems to be a lot of) around the 22 - 26 ft size. Interested in hearing comments for/against 5th wheel versus bumper tow. We're leaning towards 5th wheel. Also what to watch out for that might not be obvious. Slide-out or no slide? Issues one might come across with a slide?

Venture West Sweep in Accident

Wishing you a full and speedy recovery Melanie! -
That's funny! My brother-in-law has been visiting us for a few days. Yesterday Nina and I could hear this high-pitched, varying whine. We looked all over for it and eventually tracked it to bro-in-law's ear. It was his hearing aid ... yet he couldn't hear it ....

I was just reading in the paper today that people who drive are generally most tired between 3 and 5 AM and 2 and 4 PM. While I've rarely ridden that early, I do know that I'm generally a bit dozy in that 2-4 PM slot. I call it "post-lunch syndrome".

How true these words are! Myself and those like me who have been riding for many, many years have developed habits and skills that have been finely tuned over the years. It's these skills that I'm sure, have saved my bacon many times over. The problem now is, as I'm so close to 70 that I can almost taste it, is that while the skills and such are still in my brain, it's taking longer to transmit those "commands" to the necessary body parts to carry out. Additionally, my eyes are not as good as they were 20 years ago so that adds to the delay because it's your eyes that trigger the brain to send the appropriate commands to your body. Those of us who are older need to be aware of this and realize that although we THINK we are as good as we once were, we're NOT! The phrase "Ride Your Own Ride" and "Ride Within Your Limits" do change over time and it's important to reassess them before it's too late. Without going into details, my recent trip to Yreka woke me up to this ... almost to the point of ending my riding days.

We're considering buyng a 5th wheel also. What's the length and weight of your unit? What size of truck are you towing it with there in the pic? (heavy half, 3/4, ... engine size, etc) I'm driving a Silverado 1500 Ext cab with the 4.8 Litre V8 engine ... has full factory trailer towing pkg. Not sure at this time what max towing capacity is.
