  1. You can also remove the Victory CCT bags in less than a minute. Hooking them back up might take a smidgon longer....
  2. Sure don't need any distractions ... that could be as bad as texting while driving!
  3. I've had both as our prev bike was an '03 Wing. I much prefer the top load as long as the lid is easy to operate and swings sufficiently out of the way. Having had many bikes with side bags, I have to say I do like the one's on the Victory CCT the best. While the bags on the Wing were adequate for space, I did occasionally find it a problem when I needed to stuff them to capacity. Not so with the Victory bags .... they hold a TON of stuff! not to mention they are very easy to take off and put back on.
  4. So, I'm reading this thread and curiosity got the better of me on this one. Why would you make that assumption? Is it because nobody on the island has a basement (frankly, I wouldn't know that being I'm on the mainland) or is it because anywhere near the coast (such as the island) receives too much rain to have a basement (I'm sure I've been in houses with basements around here)?
  5. I second the suggestion of shifting without the clutch. As for those "real slow parking lot maneuvers" ... just don't do them LOL Now, in my case, it's the thumb and index finger on my throttle hand that get's real sore. I wonder if I could get Nina to reach over my shoulder and work the throttle for me.....
  6. This is too late for me... we had Thanksgiving a while back..... guess I could use it for next year (have to change some of the wording tho....)
  7. Well, I do prefer the Nelson location but maybe change the date to later in July? I need to discuss this with Nina as she had mentioned a desire to go to Nova Scotia to visit her brother with stop over in the Toronto area to visit other family members next year.
  8. Perhaps it's time to see if there's interest in another Kruis'n Kootenays? I think we'll probably stick to things north of the border at least until the exchange rate improves. My trip to Yreka cost 27 cents extra for every dollar I spent and it's at 35 cents now.
  9. Let me correct this if I may.... That statement is not true. While the last year's attendance was down somewhat, it had nothing to do with it not happening in years after that. Nina and I did not want to be the host again, Brian was too far away and nobody else stepped up to the plate.
  10. Sounds to me like it wasn't fixed in the past LOL
  11. Well, I doubt it will happen but I'd sure like to see this take place somewhere around my area. There are all kinds of locations around here to hold this event and tons of great riding. On top of that, those from south of the border will experience great value with their US currency exchange. I would gladly co-host the event up here and I'm pretty sure there's a few of us around here that would chip in.
  12. I can relate ... if a person is the only IT guy in a company, they can't be expected to know everything and the company needs to be receptive to bringing in "specialists". I've been quite fortunate in that my company has only had to bring a specialist in once in the 10 years I've been there. Everything else I've been able to figure out by "hands on learning". Plus my 28 years experience might have had something to do with it LOL. BTW, that hands on learning has involved a lot of "experts" so to speak. Having the resources of the internet at one's fingertips is a real savior.
  13. ya but the company needs to set up a dummy email account in the mail server using "aaaaaaa" as the account name. For example, we have one called aaaaa@mycompanyname.com
  14. First of all, hosting an email server requires some pretty high-level security as they are more open to being hacked. A trick from the old days was to create a dummy account using aaaaaaaa@ .... whatever the domain is. Also create a dummy contact in your own list using similar as well as one with 0000000@ (zeros)

  16. If you (or your IT guy) creates the rule on the server end, those emails won't come to you. That "rule" can flag them as spam and cause them to be deleted.
  17. to assume the servers are not being hacked is not a good ASS-U-ME tion LOL any email addy can be spoofed from practically any server if you know how. To resolve this it is first important to know if your company has it's own email server or uses a 3rd party. Your IT guy should be able to resolve this and posting it here suggests a lack of confidence in his ability LOL (is he a junior?)
  18. here's a vid on what to do with those leaves (and yes, it's viewable by minors....) http://www.theweathernetwork.com/videos/Gallery/all/video_gallery/one-weird-trick-to-raking-your-leaves--dont-do-it/sharevideo/4603417943001
  19. 68 here and still saying I'll retire in 2 years ... been saying that for the past 3 years LOL ... guess I'll retire when I'm darn good and ready ... maybe in 2 years!
  20. ahhhh yes... I inadvertently failed to mention that important point.....
  21. you're wasting your time cleaning up the leaves in the fall. On top of that, you're removing valuable nutrients from getting into the ground, exposing your lawn to winter damage, and myriad of other things. Spring is the time to cleanup the leaves. Haven't ya ever heerd of the term "spring cleaning"?
  22. I didn't know you knew me then ....
  23. Thanks for mentioning that. There's a lot of "tinkerers" out there that like to play "Tim the Toolman". Also notable is that folks seem to think they can properly charge them from a standard USB port ... my instructions state to ONLY use the supplied charger. Some quotes from things I've read.... “He was using most likely a mechanical mod. Which is more like, pretty much you’re using the battery that pushes voltage straight through the battery right to the tank,” said Vinny Kaman. That type of vaping is called dripping. “You do it yourself, you get more control out of it. at the same time, you can rep it with too low of resistance and that can a circuit, or something along those lines, with the battery,” said Trevor Sollitto. Laura Kaman said dripping is different from using an e-cigarette, “the majority of our business is all protected safe, eco style, e-cig batteries.” If you prefer dripping, Kaman says make sure you properly know how to do it and have your battery in a protective case. If your battery is damaged, replace it and properly dispose of it. http://www.motherjones.com/environment/2014/04/e-cigarettes-explode-fda-timeline
  24. I'm at 6mg ... started at 12 As a follow up to my orig post, I continued with the Vap once I got home.
