  1. 110% agree with that !!!
  2. Thanks for that link ... I had no idea those were available.
  3. That's what I was suggesting in my first post.
  4. I scooped this from another post .... best advice I ever read!
  5. Having read all the posts so far, it seems many are content to leave the site as is. I have to say that I don't wholly agree with that because: Unless Yamaha comes out with a new "Venture" model, owners of these bikes will eventually go to other models or brands and that is evident already as several here are doing it or have done it. That means either a drop in membership and/or less discussion about the "one" bike this forum is currently about. The primary concern expressed is the declining membership. How can anyone increase the membership if you don't cater to what folks ride? You want to increase membership?... include more variety. I guess that's now my 10 cents.
  6. I'm with Larry1963 on a number of points but specifically, to include all Yamaha "touring" bikes. While they no longer produce a "Venture", they do have at least a couple other models that fall into that category. I wouldn't suggest a name change for the site but something to promote it to those who ride those other bikes would be in order. I've been here since 2006 and up until I sold my '06 RSMV, this site has been a wealth of technical information that has assisted me in fixing various problems as well as adding "bling" to 3 different "Ventures". On top of that, it has put me in contact with many great and new friends whom I would never have met otherwise. Now that I've moved on (away from the Yamaha product), my only purpose for being here is to stay in contact with the great people here and keep up with what's going on with them. Recently though, I did buy a Yamaha Road Star with the intent on selling the Victory but now I'm having second thoughts about that so to some degree, I'm still a Yamaha rider. I did notice a thread about an issue with a Road Star and I was on that right away although it wasn't pertinent to me so, adding more Road Star riders to the forum would generate more interaction about those bikes. I believe there are others here who also have Roadies so more interaction would generate more involvement from them also. Being a Canadian, that is my 5 cents!
  7. Have a look at this one (I have it and it's pretty good) https://www.mobius-actioncam.com/
  8. I also love my wife but sometimes she makes me crazy ... apparently I do the same to her
  9. Smart man ... except you should know we don't get free health care! I pay medical insurance to two different companies every month ... one is a requirement to the government, the other is thru employment extended health. The government medical is limited ... everything beyond that you pay out of pocket for. I suppose if I was on a limited income or unemployed / no income .... but as soon as I had a job, they want my money.
  10. Looks pretty good ...
  11. First bike I owned was a 1968 Yamaha 125cc twin street with oil injection. That was in 1968. I was 21 at the time. Rode various others before that. Wanted a Triumph Bonneville but the bank wouldn't give me that much (I seem to recall it was around $1200 at the time but the Yammie was much less). Seized the motor on that thing twice but had a lot of fun on it.
  12. The best thing you can buy for your Vic is a Lloydz Advance Timing Wheel ... cost around $160 and vastly improves low end performance. https://www.lloydz.com/store/item_view.asp?estore_itemid=1000125
  13. If you have any questions about your Vic, don't hesitate to ask. Here's a great site for info... http://www.victoryforums.com
  14. Welcome to the Victory world! Hope you enjoy it as much as I do mine! Let's see those pics now!
  15. and yer just gonna leave us "dangling" in suspense ... forever wondering what the solution was??? yer a mean, mean man!
  16. ya, I heard the more times you do it .....
  17. Try this (from a Dell fix) -Unplug the computer and disconnect all devices. -Press and hold power button for 10 seconds to drain the capacitor to prevent electrical shock. -Open computer case and locate the 3 pin jumper block (located next to the 4 SATA harddrive connection points on the motherboard). The jumper is blue and will be connected to two of the three pins on the motherboard. -Remove the jumper block for a second (apparently this clears the memory?) then reconnect it back to it's original postion. -Close it up and that should do it! The Dell tech guy said the memory was corrupted or looped and this procedure cleared it out.

  19. OK, I'm confused (doesn't take much these days) ... your original and successive posts suggest you're using an iPad yet now you mention Windows 7. Does not an iPad use iOS (apple) operating system? or is this keyboard connected to a PC using a Windows OS?
  20. As the old saying goes... "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" and it sounds to me like it ain't broke enuf ...
  21. Try a different keyboard ... process of elimination.
  22. Another delusional American! Where do y'all get this idea that our health care is FREE???
  23. And everyone knows that B.C. means BRING CASH !!
  24. Don's comments about the heat are much the same on my Victory. For me, it has to be pretty darned hot out and a lot of stop and go before it really becomes bothersome. This past summer down in Yreka where the temps were over 100 I did not encounter any time when I was really bothered by the engine heat. "Bothered" meaning it was so hot it was burning my leg and I had t get off or something. I guess it's all a matter of what a person can tolerate.
