  1. I'm sorry for you lack of understanding. Unfortunately though, this is not something I can explain in such a way that you might understand. However, I do invite you to come up here at this time of year to experience it. That is the only way you will fully understand what I'm speaking of. Meanwhile, or if you choose not to take me up on my offer, you will just have to go through life lacking this experience and understanding ..... :stickpoke:
  2. ya ... with candy LOL Although I smoke, and Nina used to smoke, we never smoke in the house or the truck. That said, since the ashtray is full (of something), then it's time to trade in LOL
  3. Turns out a special service bulletin was issued on this problem in April, 2011. My truck is a 2005 (which qualifies); however, the coverage is only good for 10 years from date of first in-service date. I'll have to find out when my truck was first registered (I'm the 2nd owner) but I might be SOL and have to pay the piper. Here's what it says... "the interface between the electrical terminals of the relay resistor module and the wiring connector that powers the module may be incapable of conducting higher current levels for sustained periods of blower motor operation. . In addition, moisture and other contaminants may enter the fresh air intake plenum and contact the internal circuit of the module or corrode the terminals. Either of the above may cause the relay resistor module or wiring connector to overheat, resulting in one or more of the following symptoms: - The HVAC blower may not function on certain or all blower speed settings - A burning plastic smell or smoke may be present in the vehicle - The HVAC blower may run continually with the ignition in the OFF position In very rare events, if the above symptoms are ignored, a fire could occur." This is exactly what happened this morning. I'll be contacting the dealer soon as they open.
  4. Started the truck this morning, turned on the heater / defrosters to full blast (windows were iced up) and went in the house. Came back out a few minutes later and the cab was full of smoke!!! Holy crap!! Shut the truck off and opened the doors and started investigating. No fire to be seen but definitely electrical burn smell. Started it up again after the smoke cleared and watched for where it was coming from ... seems the fan controller was over heating while on the max speed. Any lower speed was fine. Eventually the max speed just stopped working. Kinda freaked me out!! Guess it's time for a new truck!!! (now if only my money tree hadn't died!)

    Dead Relay

A few years back, when I had my Wing, I was hooking up some aux lighting and needed a relay so I bought two... guess what? They were both duds. Never again will I buy cheap ones LOL
  7. That's me!

    Dead Relay

Thanks for mentioning ... I did that but since the relay was "upside down" I suspect some moisture weeped inside somehow. While the terminals showed corrosion, there was still power across one terminal, just not the second one where it should have been.
  9. Not long after I got my XCT, I installed a switched power block inside the fairing to run power to things like my GPS, Sirius XM, Aux running lights, and so on. I used a good quality relay for the project. A couple weeks ago I fired up the bike for the first time since last fall only to discover that none of these items worked any more. I dug into it this past weekend to discover that the relay was corroded and had failed. No worries, I just put a new one in. So why did it get corroded I asked myself? I had mounted it inside the fairing up against the metal fairing bracket with the wiring tabs facing UP! Of course ... any water that got inside there settled on it and slowly caused the connections to corrode and probably short out. Solution.... mount it with the connections facing DOWN. Possibly just a little "TIP" for others. 2013 RED XCT Live to Love - Love to Ride Life's a Venture on my Victory Driving a car is like watching a movie, riding a motorcycle is like starring in one! ---------------------------- Lloydz Air Filter Lloydz Timing Wheel Power Commander V Autotune CATs removed Stage 1 flash HD Trunk Rack FIAAM Air Horn PIAA 1100x Lamps D&D Performance Mufflers HID High & Low Victory Mini-Apes Michelin Primacy Alpin PA3 ZP 195/55-16 102HP, 107Tq
  10. I tried that many years ago. Dr put some kind of pin in my ear... told me to press it whenever I got the urge for a smoke... I pressed it so many times I got an infection. LOL Wife did laser therapy twice. She's been smoke free for 5 years now. That said, she still had to mentally prevent herself from lighting up for a while.
  11. Great ... now everyone knows....
  12. Tried that ... didn't work, made me sick. The way to quit (I believe) is simply a mind over matter thing. The difficulty is keeping one's mind in the right place.
  13. One thing I like about GoDaddy is you can call their support and talk to someone without much waiting. They've always been extremely helpful. And you don't get someone in Pakistan that you can't understand.
  14. GoDaddy is a great hosting co. Been using them for several years to host various websites, email, etc for my work. At work I've had experience with several hosting companies and have moved from one to another multiple times. GoDaddy has been the best so far. https://www.godaddy.com/ That really sux that they did that. They said they notified you? ... For such a drastic action, you should have received several notifications!
  15. Unfortunately I'm back on the smokes... again! Just before xMas I was at work and my e-cig battery died first thing after I got there. I made it to about 3:30PM and just had to have something so I went and bought a cigarello (mini cigar) and smoked it. hmmmmm that was good. Next day I bought a pack ... stayed on those over the holidays and then started buying these "thin" cigs ... been smoking them since. 20 to a pak ... lasts me 2 days. I'll probably dump them eventually in favour of the e-cig ... just not decided at this time.
  16. Youse guyz crack me up .... Dontcha know ... Life's a Venture on a Victory ....
  17. The best way to end a disagreement is to agree to disagree .... so in that light, I agree with everything anyone disagrees with.... uhhhhhhh.... I'm not sure what I really said there....
  18. An oldie but still funny. Version I knew was racial ... this one's better.

  22. My Aunt (RIP) had the same thing but only her pinky was affected. She was like that for as long as I can remember. Hoping it all goes well for you with a speedy recovery!
  23. I refer you back to my post #6 which is where this part of the convo began.
  24. I once received a cheque for $100 made out to me, delivered to my address, from someone I didn't know. I contacted the person and asked what it was for. Apparently I had provided roadside assistance to them somewhere near Seattle when their vehicle was broken down. OK I said .... meanwhile, I'd never been near Seattle at that time. Guess it was meant for someone else with my name. They did say that they looked up my address coz I never gave it to them at the time. I said thanks and cashed the cheque LOL
