  1. 1. I'm sure you'll get a lot of tips on this... one would probably be changing the rear end to a Vmax. 2. Somewhere in here I came across a link to a company that makes "training" type wheels for Wings. You know like training wheels on a bicycle. They raise or lower by a flip of a switch...there was a video of them.... thought those to be really cool.
  2. DITTO Swifty... Those are stats from 2004 and even then, the homicide rate was up by 12%. I'd like to know what the stats are for today or at least for 2006. An area near here (Surrey) was Canada's highest area for auto theft I think in 2004-2005...not sure if that carried into 2006. "EDIT"... I found some info ... "For 2005, Statistics Canada reported that the overall violent crime rate was unchanged, while noting increases in crimes such as homicide, attempted murder, serious assaults and robbery. The homicide rate increased 4% to the highest level in almost a decade. (Statistics Canada, The Daily, July 20, 2006)" "from Crime Statistics in Canada, 2001 states, "The violent crime rate is 6% less than a decade ago, but 52% higher than 20 years ago." Above are quotes from http://www.fradical.com/Violent_crime_statistics_Canada.htm

    BRA?

So, were you borrowing them in the past? Did the ladies that you borrowed them from look at you with a "twisted" eye? or did you just sneak them?
  4. and all this time I thought you were the "HUSBAND" ....
  5. In total opposite, mine is getting paid and doing nothing!
  6. Guns are everywhere and here in Canada there's a lot of illegal firearms...more so now than ever. Your laws are much more relaxed than ours but it sure seems that the way things are going around here, we should be able to do what you do for our own protection! Now here's a funny...in response to you saying "I hit where I aim". A few years back, before I was married or even knew my wife, I was living with someone. Thru her, I got involved in the rod & gun club and was doing a lot of target practise in their indoor range. One day she came there and did some practise also. She always claimed she was a very good shot! There are 6 targets. She was at #4 and I was viewing her target thru binoculars. Round 1 ... nothing, round2 ... nothing... no hit after 5 rounds anywhere on the target ... giggle giggle to myself... then I took the binoculars away from my eyes and realized I was looking at target #5 where nobody was shooting LOL :sign20: Oh yeah... when I did view her target, she was definately a good shot .... we continued practising and at the end of the day, her scores were much better than mine.... I never did tell her about the binoculars thing LOL.

    Stabil

In all the years I've owned a bike, I've never put anything in the gas to stabilize it over the winter and I've lived in a variety of climates here in Canada...all of them requiring the bike sitting for a minimum of 5 months. In many cases, my bike was not in a heated storage and in a couple cases, it sat outside under a tarp covered in snow. I have never had a problem with "bad gas" because of this.
  8. Here in Vancouver, we seem to be in the middle of "gang wars". There's a lot of big time crime going on around here...a lot of drugs being produced and distributed, a lot of big time illegal crap going on. Every week we hear about people being killed that are involved in criminal activities. Restaurant shoot-em-ups, drive-by shootings, people being killed in their vehicles at stop lights, and the list goes on. It's getting so bad that the police have formed a special task force to combat it. What's really ironic is that there are more illegal firearms coming into Canada from the USA and other places than any other time in history. The irony here is that a few years ago, one of our federal government ministers brought in this "Law" to make everyone in Canada who owns a firearm either register it or turn it in for disposal...all supposedly to curb and combat crime and illegal firearms. HA! a lot of good that did and what's even more ironic... actually funny... is this same minister visited our city the other day and as he was driving down the street he came across a crime scene that had just taken place...with an illegal gun of course! LOL... when interviewed by the TV newsperson, the guy didn't have a lot to say coz he was too busy swallowing his tongue! Apparently he is no longer in government.
  9. What's that old song??... "all I want for christmas is my two front teeth..." ... well in my case, I need 'em ALL because my current ones (store bought) are worn out a don't fit worth a dang anymore.
  10. ... I'm one of those kinda people that can't lie to save my face... unfortunately, that makes me look pretty stupid at times LOL ... oh, and I rarely get away with anything... coz I can't lie and make it believable...
  11. awrite...c'mon...what is it?
  12. ummmmmmmmmmmmmm... who is the "lord"? and where does he/she fit in here?
  13. A lot of very interesting comments about this topic...wow! One of them that really sticks out is the wages for servers in the USA. We here in Canada have a minimum wage (and I know you all in the US do also and it varies a lot). A server here makes at the very least $8 an hour. Now in comparison, one might think that's a lot but around here it really isn't. The thing is though, there are a lot of people working a variety of "service" related jobs who make exactly the same wage, work just as hard, deal with people all day long (and many of you know what that's like), put up with all kinds of crap from their employers (a lot of it against the labour relations act) .... and get no tips at all. It's just not fair.
  14. Interesting that with the exception of Lawn Mowers, Air Conditioners, and Kitchen toys, everything else is made in CHINA!
  15. I'd think $750,000 would be more appropriate. So, hit 'em with that and possibly they'll settle a wee bit higher... Anyone here been in the car sales game? One thing a salesman should never do is put themselves downstream coz it's harder to swim against the current than with it. So, come back at them with a much higher request and see what happens...don't be afraid to not accept their first offer...or even their second.
  16. It's a whole different ball game when you live in a small town and everyone knows everyone (so to speak). I've lived in small places too and can relate to what you're saying. One tends to be more generous in those situations. But, I've also noticed that even if you don't tip a lot, those people who know you will still give you good service (unless of course they don't like you LOL). Seems smaller towns tend to be more "service oriented" and friendly than big citys like here.
  17. I'm with you... I'm ok with 10%...maybe even 15% and doing it in cash but again, I will only tip if the service is good and frankly, that's not hard to determine these days because in general, good service more often than not, doesn't exist. I'm also a believer of paying these folks better wages and doing away with this tipping thing simply because too many expect to be tipped. Tipping as it is now is not the same as it was 30 or more years ago. What we had then was a whole lot cheaper so 20% wasn't such a big deal. For example, 30 yrs ago, 4 people could go out for dinner for $25 total. A tip of $5 would have been a good tip. Today, ya can hardly have dinner by yourself for $25 so is it reasonable to give the server $5 on top of that? And where do ya stop? Today it wouldn't be uncommon to go out for dinner and drinks at let's say a fancy Japanese Steak house with 3 other people and rack up a tab of $200-$300. So, is a tip of $60 (20% of $300) reasonable??? Not in my book...so where does one draw the line? I draw it at generally 10% to a maximum of $10 coz I don't think anyone deserves $20, $30 or more as a tip for serving me and my 3 guests $300 worth of food and drinks, especially when I'm paying more because it's a "fancy" joint.
  18. Came across this and since it's something that gets "under my skin" from time to time, thought I'd bring it up just to see what others do and think about it. http://travel.sympatico.msn.ca/Travelling+Heres+when+to+tip++and+how+much/TravelFeatures/ContentPosting.aspx?isfa=1&newsitemid=237015&feedname=TRANS-HOMEMAKERS&show=False&number=0&showbyline=True&subtitle=&detect=&abc=abc Personally, I believe in tipping when I get good service. I don't believe that I should tip "just because". People get hired to do a job at a specific rate of pay. "Just because" they work in a restaurant does not mean that they are entitled to a tip irregardless of how they go about serving me. At least around here, their rate of pay is about the same as people in other businesses...do they get a tip?... not...yet they may well still be in a service-related industry!
  19. You're speaking for yourself of course??
  20. Do kids actually play "cars & trucks" anymore? Gawd, that's about all I ever played when I was a kid.
  21. I saw an article on the news last night about a local school teacher who, a few years ago, wanted to get all the kids to bring their "war" and "fighting" type toys to school to have a "mass burn" of such things in honour of remembrance day. Of course, they couldn't burn them coz of the possible chemicals that would emit into the air so this year, he came up with the idea of taking all those toys, painting them, and making art out of them such as glueing those small "army men" onto a large frame in the shape of intertwined peace symbols. I thought that was a great idea. I also think that, as a society, we need to force toymakers to STOP producing toys for kids that promote such things as killing and injury, we need to STOP the production of electronic games that depict those things. To START, we should STOP purchasing such things for our kids. Do you, as a parent, not realize that such toys are brainwashing our children into thinking that violence is OK? Think about it. Sorry for venting here but I just had to. No rebuttals necessary coz this is obviously a very controversial topic and I'm not looking to debate the issue...just venting.
  22. So, what are you going to teach them with the pellet gun?
  23. Interesting comments about the rubber stopper. I put Jardine's on my '85 without any of these issues. It had the same setup I believe.
