I've been coming to this site for close to 2 years. I have tried many times to stir up trouble, put down others, create situations causing others to start bashing each other, raise political and religious controversial issues so I could sit back and watch you all fighting.... came close a couple times.... but DANG!!! you all just won't bite at anything...will ya? OK, to heck with it then, I give up....

I'm wondering if he's become a "chataholic" .... he's got the "chatroom syndrome"

Glad to see you didn't sell that beast... lookin forward to hooking up with you and the others again this coming spring for another meet 'n eat. Oh, and StuD... if ya read this, I still owe ya for that front brake wiring!

Go to Start, then Run ... type in msconfig and press Enter Go to the Startup tab in the dialog that comes up and choose Disable All. Click Apply and then click OK. Restart your computer... you will get a message (I forget what it says)... just OK it. Go to the C: drive in Explorer and find the folder where mIRC is installed. Delete that folder using Shift + Delete (bypasses recycle bin) Get an antivirus program like AVG Free. Install it and do the updates and then have it scan your computer and clean any viruses. Get Spybot Search & Destroy. Install it, do the updates, and scan your PC. Clean anything it finds. Get ccleaner ... install it & do the updates... run the cleaner on the Windows Registry only and clean all that it finds. (above programs are all free off the net) Go back into msconfig and enable all, click OK and reboot your PC.

Finally you "fessed up"... I was wondering who that was that was doing all that reading!

Easy enuf for me to say.... let me tell ya, it's not easy. You have to constantly be "checking" yourself. You get an urge to light one up... you have to mentally say to yourself "NO"... you gotta slap your own hand... keep telling yourself that you WILL NOT SMOKE AGAIN... talk to others... folks on this site have been a great help to me... get the Champix pills if you feel you need to....they are working GREAT for me. Oh yes, and alter your habitual ways....for example, I used to get up in the morning, grab a coffee and go sit and have it and a couple smokes before I even thought about anything else.... now, I get up, jump into the shower....grab a coffee and get dressed.... a small change in routine....makes a big difference.

simple solution for ya... quit working!! Seriously tho.... don't just "THINK" about quitting.... make the decision to do it...make a committment to yourself that you will not have another cigarette....then focus on that and never waiver. It's mind over matter....set your mind to it and just DO IT.... others have....I have...YOU CAN TOO.

Well, if you're feeling left out, I'll be happy to oblige!! Just ribbin ya of course. Yes, this is a great place to "hang out". I'm somewhat "addicted" to say the least. Everyone here is great.....even at times when I'm not

That's exactly how I feel and that's why I keep taking those pills. I know if I go off them, my mind will be messing me up. Right now I have hardly no craving nor do I even think about a smoke...I know it's the pills that are working on my brain.....the rest is my willpower and that's one thing that takes concentration and determination. I plan on continuing with the meds for the full 3 months and if, when I go off them, I find the cravings coming back, I will go back on them for a while. We're always going to be one cigarette away from being a smoker again so we gotta do whatever it takes to NOT have that ONE cig.

PICS... you must post pics!!!
-
Everyone says I'm good .................. but they can't seem to figgure out what for!
-
Stay on the meds.... they are the reason you have few desires to smoke and the physical withdrawal is minimal. The recommended time is 3 months. Stay strong and smoke free! ^5

Years ago....way before internet and computers, when the power went out.... seems to me I recall the birth rate going up some 9 months after that.... Now it's the INTERNET!!
-
Sounds kinda crazy... they ship it with 0 psi and say that's the standard setting (meaning ya can ride it that way), they don't link the 2 together in 1 valve ... why even bother with air .... just put progressive springs in to begin with...

Exhaust System Noise
SilvrT replied to skooter's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
yvw I had this problem on my '85 .... I used to love going thru the underpass, under the Fraser river here.....speed up on the approach then back right off the throttle ... BOOM! Scare the crap outta the drivers around me! When I removed the collector I had 2 nice sized cracks (holes) in the top. I bought a new one plus all the gaskets....wow... $450 later ..... On this bike (my '87) I had the "collector rattle" syndrome LOL... took her out, cut her open, removed the baffles, etc and had it welded back up... $45 for the welding, about $80 or so for gaskets, and about $5 for the exhaust cement.... now no leaks and no rattles....nice and quiet. -
OK, dumb question here ..... why is there separate air valves for each shock if ya don't want to have them uneven? Wouldn't it make sense to have a single air valve feeding both? Or am I understanding the info wrongly?

Exhaust System Noise

Just curious...do you get any backfiring in the exhaust when you're decelerating? If you do, it's possible that the collector has some cracks or holes in it. They generally appear on the top, near the mounting flanges. -

If you remove all of the exhaust, including the headers and collector (except the rear headers), you will need at the very least the gaskets going into the collector for the headers as well as possibly the gaskets for the front headers going into the head. The gaskets between the collector and the muffler quite often can be re-used and on my bike, I used some exhaust "cement" available at places like Canadian Tire or other similar stores. I used the cement at the gasket between the muffler and collector. -
Hey... it will be 5 weeks this coming Sunday since I butted out!! wwooooooooooo hhhhhoooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, let me tell ya what it feels like.... my nose isn't as clogged as it usually is .... I am starting to taste and smell things like never before .... my legs don't get so tired out when I'm walking .... I am more alert .... what else? .... ummmm the word "stamina" comes to mind and another thing that starts with "s" goes along with that. My wife quit the same time. Now, she has allergies and smoking wasn't good for that for her...she was always clogged up, sneezing a lot, often times had to clear her throat while speaking otherwise her voice would fade and crack up... WOW.. what a difference 5 weeks has made for her! Now I want to comment on what Dray said above.... yes, non-smokers get cancer and so do smokers and in fact, a lot of the cancers we get are not lung cancer and are not smoking related and personally, I sometimes wonder if all the "hype" about smoking and cancer is just that ... HYPE ... I mean, they can't seem to find a cure so they will blame it on the obvious ... but I tell you what .... cancer or no cancer, smoking does "stunt your growth" (as mom used to say) ... it will drag you down. I'm 60 ... been smoking for 46 years and frankly, I'm in better health than most my age and can run circles around many younger guys.... now just imagine if I'd never smoked! I am looking forward to the coming years ... smoke free years .... and better health, more energy, and the list goes on. Those who continue to smoke.... I have no issues with that... it's your choice.
