I'm wondering if those shiny covers found on the RSTD and/or the RSV would fit a 1st gen 1300 engine. I'm referring to things like the clutch cover, water pump, etc and how about those "fake fins" ... would they fit on a 1st gen? anyone know?

have you checked out this site or anything similar... http://kb.mozillazine.org/Lost_bookmarks

I quite often have a "herd of Harleys" following me... they're usually trying to keep up .... yep, it's a hoot alright! (my son and his 2 buddies are the "herd")

Personally, I wouldn't accept such reasoning. If it's sealed, it's sealed and nothing should leak. If it's leaking and it shouldn't be leaking, it's not sealed properly. I think someone screwed up. Let common sense prevail.

yea... but the longest road is only 2 miles in length.... :witch_brew:

yep... it sure has a nice metallic flake to it...really shimmers in the sunlight. I remember years ago when I had my autobody shop...I'd go to the paint supplier and have them mix paint...I'd always ask them to put in "extra course" aluminum for the metallic colors. This color has that already.

Al who????

Parking the scoot in late Oct and not riding again until late April is "normal procedure" .... don't really know nuthin else.

Killex...roundup...24D ... ain't you guys aware that those things are contributing to the degradation of the environment.... In fact, they've pretty much banned the use of the stuff around here. Now lookie here.... me... an environmental activist...

Basically I'm just fixin a few "errors" from the last time I painted it and then a complete re-clear coat. (did I say I made errors...OMG!) The color is metallic black...first out on a 1977 Dodge product... paint code is PX8 if anyone's interested. I finally broke down and bought a compressor so using professional equipment and automotive clear produces a nicer job than what I used a year ago. ooops... did I just expose the 2009 RSV hoax? Can hardly wait to get her all back together and start ridin!
-
Here it is folks, the 2009 RSV as seen during the build process.... most of it is covered up soas to not allow too much of a preview before the actual release date of May 1st, 2008.

102F = 38.9 celcius = wayyyy too hot! 77F = 25 celcius = PERFECT riding temp ... not too hot, and never feel cold.
-
April 18/19 ... Vancouver BC, Canada ... highs plus 5 Celcius ... snowed in the evening and overnight... Totally uncommon for this area... should be around plus 15...GAWD what's happening???

My mistake... I thought he'd just installed Firefox and couldn't find the IE favorites. Don't ask me how I came to that conclusion ?????? DUH on me LOL

After all these years...and I even took courses on Tax preparation... I never knew this... If I was single and my wife was single and we weren't living common law....we'd be getting a refund of just over $4000 between the 2 of us on our 2007 taxes. Since we're married (or even if we were living common law), we're getting a refund of appx $390. The reason is...as I sadly discovered...is because when the federal and provincial tax credits are calculated, it takes into account the spouse's NET income and since both of our net incomes are considerably more than the tax credit amounts, we both get NOTHING for a tax credit. In short, we are being penalized two-fold because we are married. What a freakin rip off!!! And I would bet that the Canada pension will penalize us accordingly. Time to get a DIVORCE!

Might it be that one fork is higher up in the triple tree than the other... wouldn't take much at all to cause the front tire to be at a bit of an angle... one wouldn't think this possible because the axle itself should keep the tire in alignment but maybe not. well, it's a thought.... -
It would seem to me that your tires are in line but is there a twist in your forks at the triple trees? This would cause your handlebars to be slightly "off centre"... in other words, when tires are straight, handlebars aren't at exactly 90 degrees. I had this on my '87.. had to loosen everything and do a bit of twisting...wasn't out much but enuf that it seemed it was "pointed" wrong.

hmmmmm... now if only I had known this when I had it all apart.... I'll check that next time tho...if I take it apart again before I sell it.

ya, that's what I do too. I used to live in Alberta from 1984-1992. I had 3 vehicles there including a scoot (Goldwing at the time). Had them all insured thru one private ins co coz they gave discounts for multiple vehicles...it was real cheap at the time. Then I moved back to BC.... I'd sold the Goldwing and one of the other vehicles so only had one when I got to BC ... that one vehicle cost almost twice what all 3 cost in Alberta...what a rip off...and they're still doing it....and we can't do a thing about it.
