I tried MotorKote in my '06 ... didn't cause any slippage of the clutch and had no adverse effect but didn't do much to reduce the whine. As for "1/2 the problem" ... unfortunately changing the primary gear on the crank would be a major job I'd guess but even with that, to try and get the two of them (primary gear and clutch basket) to mate properly is as much of a crap shoot as trying to mate just the basket with the existing primary. You can't get them as a matching set as far as I know. It is those two gears that cause the whine/chirp.
-
so, have you installed the "I" basket yet? not much you can do in the way of different oil to reduce that whine/chirp ... at least for me it didn't and even going to the "I" basket ... while it wasn't as bad, it was still annoying.

I can relate to that!

Let's hope you'll NOT be checking out for a long time (assuming that means meeting your maker)

I had a '55 not long after I sold the '58 ... but everyone had a '55. I enjoy having vehicles that not everyone has. 'nuther car I had for a short while is a 1961 Imperial ... cool car but try and find one today....

When I was 17 I was enrolled in an auto mechanics pre-apprentice course and one of the cars we worked on was a 1958 Chev Impala. Later on when I was 22 I worked in a garage and the owner's son had one. It was a US model with a 348 engine, convertibel, with a continental kit. It was for sale and I bought it ... for a measly $350. There was basically nothing wrong with it. A while after I had it the transmission gave out (it had the "truck" tranny). I had the shop convert it to a 2 speed powerglide. While we were on our trip recently and camped a Lake Havasu we came across a local custom car show and one of the cars was a 1958 Impala. This is the one in the show... This is a shot of mine back in 1970 I would love to have this car again.

Really Impressed

You can be sure of that for me! -
There are more accidents with men driving vs women. When a man and a woman hop into a vehicle to go some where, it's predominately the man who drives even though the woman is a capable driver. When accidents happen, guess who's driving?

Everything appears "normal" to me. I use Maxthon .. been using it since it was MyIE ... have never had issues accessing any web site ... and it has a built in Ad Blocker. http://www.maxthon.com/

I think I'll sit on the fence on that decision .... It does surprise me that his ... errr, I mean her rates are that high in Alberta ... I could believe it if he/she was in BC.

We're now living in Castlegar. We sold the 5th wheel and truck and bought a house here. We've been living here in a rented basement suite since May 1st. The deal on the house closes Aug 31st and we take possession Sep 1. As for Surrey, we sold our place there and left there a year ago and travelled across Canada and spent the winter in the USA in our 5th wheel. So glad to be the hell out of the lower mainland. Absolutely love it here in the Kootenays. In case you haven't heard, I'm going to host another Kruis'n the Kootenays rally here next summer. Hope you'll be able to make it.

You're at least in an area where those stores exist albeit I'd rather be here than there. We have Walmart, Crappy Tire, & Home Hardware ... no Home Depot, no Lowes, no Rona ....

There's plenty fires happening here in BC as well but thankfully nothing even close to as bad as what we had last year and nothing close to where we're living .... touch wood!
-
Hope they aren't anywhere near the fires!

He did mention that ... (You might notice the Labour is 100 off (109.95x10 = 1099.50 not 1199.50)) Maybe you need better glasses Jack!

Recent times? Seems so long ago to me that I can't even remember when that was ... but at my age, there's a lot of things I can't remember ... like, was I going up the stairs or coming down... LOL

I first smoked it in the mid 60's. Didn't have anything to do with it again until the mid 80's. Smoked a bit here and there when I was around someone who had it. This continued up to around 2002. That was probably the first time I ever bought any. From then to now I went through stages of using it as a "weekend good time party" instead of alcohol. As of today I still have a small amount of it that I bought a year ago and maybe had 2 joints out of. For me it was always a situation of who I was associating with at the time. Funny thing is, my son came into my life in 2002 and Nina came into my life in 2005 and I've smoked more weed since then than I ever have LMAO. My son was a heavy pot user as well as a grower. He was also into the hard drugs for a while. While he no longer is a user and has really straightened out his life since about 5 or 6 years ago, those earlier years were, IMO and probably his too, nothing but wasted time (pun intended). Up until 5 or 6 years ago, he had absolutely nothing. So, my take on us (Canada) legalizing pot .... it should have been done back in the 60's coz IMHO, we would have a much more responsible community of weed smokers and a whole lot less (if any at all) associated crime. Frankly .... Canada ... IT'S ABOUT TIME! As for things like impaired driving, etc ... I have no doubt some form of testing will be produced. Will it lead to more young people becoming "pot heads" .... I doubt it! They can get all they want now and once it's legalized, those dispensaries and other retail outlets won't be able to sell it to under aged kids anyway... just like cigarettes and booze. So, the "kids" will continue to get it just like they always do now.

First of all, CONGRATS on getting your new ride ... I am super envious. Secondly, I can relate to the above statement as I too have been developing custom business apps for going on 30 years and being able to produce an intuitive front end can sometimes be a real challenge. I does help a lot though to be both a developer as well as an end-user. Cheers and enjoy!

Good plan puc, but what's going to stop HD parts from cluttering the roads behind you ..... You gotta admit, you walked right into that zinger LOL

Hey y'all ... We’re pondering the idea of holding another Kruis’n rally summer 2019 … just throwin this out there to get an idea of how many might be interested.

Some or most of y'all know that Nina and I sold our house in the Vancouver area last year, bought a truck and 5th wheel trailer and travelled across Canada, down into the USA stopping in various states including Tennessee, Florida, Texas, Arizona, California. We arrived back in BC mid April after almost 9 months on the road. What a great experience that was! We've now relocated to Castlegar, BC, sold our 5th wheel trailer, sold the truck (that was a task!), bought a boat, and as of yesterday put an offer in on a house that has been accepted! We move in Sept 1st. Oh, and now we're selling the boat LOL Maybe next year a motorcycle ...... ????? Gawd but life is exciting! :dancefool: hmmmm shoulda said RETIREMENT is exciting!
