  4. I came across this ... thought it a good idea to pass along... http://www.sync-blog.com/sync/2008/08/breaking-news-f.html
  5. no "thinking" about it... it's a "given"! friggin docs will prescribe a pill to fix the side-effects of another pill that was prescribed because a previous pill's dosage screwed ya up and that was prescribed by a different doc that this one says should never have happened! people become "pill-addicts" because of this....and they gotta take more pills to get off the addictions. I only take one pill (when I want to) ..... :D
  6. hmmmmmmmmmm...... I wonder if this would work on......... (a particular "old gal" I know) :rotf:
  7. that is hilarious!!!!!!!!!!! good thing he survived to tell the story; how frightening! So much so, he did not notice the pecker; now that's a rare bird in itself...a guy not noticing a pecker between his legs....haha
  8. ummmm... eyesight in left eye (ie, blindness) ?? left/right brain issue? :scratchchin:
  9. I would guess that, if words are put to the wave, it could have different variations depending on the person, but all having the same "meaning" so to speak. I've also noticed a decline in "wavers" ... myself included .... there are so many bikes on the road nowadays it's sometimes hard to wave at all of them. I generally don't wave at the "tough-guy Harley types" (and you can usually spot them) simply because they never wave anyway (probably coz their hands are "frozen" to the grips ).
  10. hmmmmmmm.... that brings up an interesting point .... what exactly do the waves mean? Frankly, I've never put specific words to them... other than "hi" or something like that ...
  11. must be somehing different with my scoot...I've had her leaned so far over I'm sure I could kiss the ground....never scraped anything. I wonder how we could scrape the pegs on a 1st gen when the crash bars stick out further than they do?? I've never scraped the pegs but I have felt my (ahem...size 9) boot scraping the ground. I test rode an RSTD about 3 years ago and that was the one thing I didn't like... it was so easy to scrape the floorboards.

    Mission B.C

I don't know a lot about Mission although I've been thru there numerous times. One thing for sure is the speedway if you're into drag racing or motorcycle racing. It's a big thing around here... NHRA, etc... gawd, I'm so out of touch with all that stuff but the speedway has been there for as long as I remember. Check this out... http://www.mission.ca/site3.aspx
  13. When I bought the Mobil 1 yesterday I was looking at the Rotella but they only had one litre and I couldn't remember if it was the one folks here use. That was at Crappy Tire (Canadian Tire for you non-Canucks ). I'll check again this morning...might end up in a "wild goose chase" LOL
  14. Incidentally, I have a Barnett clutch in my scoot... I wonder if certain oils that works fine in stock clutches may cause slippage in the Barnett. If I can find it today, I'm going to try the Shell Rotella T 15w40 diesel oil.
  15. SuperSyn MX4T 10w40 motorcycle oil
  16. I changed my oil yesterday and used Mobil 1 SuperSyn 10w40 (MX4T) motorcycle oil. Went for a day ride and around mid-point of the ride, clutch started slipping. By the time we were close to home on return, I couldn't crank it in either 4th or 5th as the clutch would slip real bad. Dropping that oil today and gonna try the Rotella T 15W40 diesel (if I can find it)
  17. I changed my oil yesterday to Mobil 1 synthetic ... went for a day ride and noticed slippage under hard accel in 4th & 5th. It was fine before so dropping that oil and putting regular back in.
  18. to what....confirm or deny your math skills???
  19. If it's a V6 i sympathize with ya... I had to do one on a '93 Taurus once... what a PITA that was! Gimme the good 'ole 283 V8 ... put the cable kit on 'er
  20. btw... thanks a bunch for providing this document.
  21. A "tip" for filling in the form.... when you open it in Word, go to the Tools menu and choose Protect Document and then choose Forms. This forces the cursor to only go into the various Boxes (fields). check boxes can be marked using the spacebar when they are the active control. The cursor will move from one field to the other when you hit Enter or Tab. In the larger boxes (ie Allergies to medications) you can use Ctrl+Enter to start a new line.
  22. Hey Brian.... dang... I really am disappointed that we're not going to make it. I know I don't need to explain why but..... a few weeks ago (or was it months? LOL) we had a "mini-holiday" and wound up over-spending (or was that "getting over-served"? lol) which kinda diminished our holiday fund we'd been reserving for the Los Osos get together. Before that, we had some additional expenses associated to our truck being stolen (not a lot but with one thing and the other, by the end of it all, it adds up) So we reluctantly cut that short and decided to only go as far as Florence, Oregon and spend some time at the dunes and a few other places along the way...then go over to Vancouver Island for a bit. Well, now that's been cut (Florence) too coz our computer (7 yrs old) finally packed it in and we had to go out and use more of our holiday funds to replace it. geeeeeesshhhhhh if it isn't one thing, it's another eh? So, now we're down to Vancouver Island and Okanagan areas only coz we both have relatives in those areas so accommodations won't cost us anything LOL Oh well... such is life eh! NEXT YEAR is just around the corner! Then again, the lotto is up to 36 million for Sat night so all of this might well change dramatically!!!
  23. Never maxed this scoot ( '87 ) ... had her up to 190km (118mph) but it's a wee bit unstable over 170 (105mph). My '85 was extremely stable and I buried the needle on it a few times (whatever that was) ... I'm guessing around 220 or better (136mph).
  24. Years ago, had a bear run out in front of me... he came onto the highway at about a 45 degree angle heading away from me...he was on the run... scared me at first....hit the brakes...then, once the initial shock left, I got MAD and started chasing him with my horn blasting and me hollerin....WOW can those black bears run!!!
