  1. If you cut the stock windshield down in order to see over it (like 4.5 inches as mentioned here)... what affect does that have on wind against your body, helmet, passenger, etc? Is there more? Does it hit you differently?... what?
  2. heh ... that's my son's '03 Anniversary Edition, Screamin Eagle Sporty 1200 .... he'd kill me if I ever harmed his BABY ! I had his scoot and my '87 in the garage and one of them had to go outside under a tarp to make room for the new RSMV ... guess which one lost? LOL
  3. heh... 2 beauties .... now, I'm not sure which "girl" I'm in love with most! sshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....
  4. We left Vancouver Friday around 1PM, trailer in tow and drove thru the night arriving in Calgary around 9AM... we stopped several times to snooze and shared the driving. Got our new baby loaded up and then we hit the road for home around 2PM Saturday. Stopped over for the night in Cranbrook...hit the road around 4AM this morning ...got home roughly 5PM. I off-loaded the bike appx 100 km short of home and rode the rest of the way (rain mostly) but I didn't care... I LOVE THIS new scoot!!!
  5. I've been using pledge for years...and I pledge to continue...
  6. heh... considering what's been said to the negatives so far about S100 ... it's like drugs... "may cause this...may cause that.. don't take with this or that... must be taken with food" and so on... sheeesh, why bother LOL
  7. How many miles (or kilometers) should one expect to get out of the stock tires on a RSV?
  8. I had the same problem so I just highlited the text with the mouse... inverts the colors and makes it easy to read.
  9. I've never tried it (nor even heard of it before now). I've used numerous products over the years that never really stood up to their claims (at least not to my high expectations). Think I'll stick to what I know works... water and wash mitt...maybe a bit of dishwash soap and for those really greasy, road muck areas, some good old Fantastic and elbow grease. Chamois off and go crazy with the Lemon Pledge!
  10. :rotf: proof positive that things have a way of coming back to the surface eventually! I bet he knew in the back of his mind that his sneaky little trick would eventually be discovered... haha...kids huh? He probably feels a bit of a weight off his shoulders now that the truth is out in the open! too funny!
  11. I'll be waiting for those pics... good luck!
  12. Since I'm in IT and work inside with servers and workstations and networks, etc... I guess I'm a white collar... however, I like to think I'm a red-necked White Collar!
  13. S100?? what is that...an Amway product?
  14. Randya... I think you left our a few details... like, what color the wash rag is, how tight the water hose connection is at the tap, etc.... Seriously tho, that's a good process. I find using a towel to do the dry-off leaves streaks and/or towel fluff and afterwards, I gotta get out the pledge.
  15. I didn't see no "pond monsters" ....???? wait a minute..... oh... there they are.....
  16. Just thought I'd say a few words about this process...but not saying that what you (or anyone else) is doing is wrong... I've been in the "auto cleaning" business professionally numerous times in my life. I have never seen yet a time when any such method (high pressure wash) does anything more than taking off "heavy buildup". The dirt "film" can ONLY be removed using direct contact with something such as a wash mitt or, in this case, the chamois or microfibre towel. Having said that, if there is no "heavy buildup" of anything, why not just wipe it down with a wet cloth or, as many have said, lemon pledge and a lint-free cloth? Or, just plain old water and a wet rag, hose off, chamois the water off afterwards. Thinking back, I've washed my bike(s) with various "spray on, hose off" products...I've yet to see one that really lives up to that claim... I've always had to "hand-wipe" in some fashion or another to finish the process and it's in that "hand-wipe" process that the film is actually being taken off the surface. I rarely ever wash the bike with soap and water, high-pressure spray, or anything of the like unless I've been riding on really dirty roads that have caused a real buildup of muck. I then hose what I can off with a garden hose...then wash using a wash mitt or rag which of course takes off everything including the road film. I have seen tho times when using a high pressure machine takes more than the heavy buildup off... (I'm talkin paint here). I guess my whole point is.... why go to the trouble of pre-soak, high-pressure wash, rinse, etc, etc when what is actually doing the cleaning is the wipe-down with the chamois? Have you noticed how dirty your chamois is? It's really designed to take the remaining "clear" water off, leaving a streak and spot-free finish. (just my $0.05 cents)
  17. That pic is exactly what mine loked like before I painted it!
  18. I'll be remembering this one when I go to trailer home my new-to-me '06 RSMV this weekend... There's something ugly about a NEW bike on a trailer.
  19. WOW... nice! Reminds me of a Valkyrie.
  20. well, since this is '08 it would depend on what the original delivery date was if there is any warranty left....
  21. We were seriously looking at an HD Ultra '09 model also... worked the numbers... a "wee bit" out of our budget so we went shopping for an RSV... didn't like the grey color of the '08 but we could have gotten a demo for $15,900. We got lucky and found an '06 Midnight for a great price and it only has 1300km's on it. Don't have it our posession yet... going to get it this weekend...can hardly wait!!!
  22. Maybe hard to tell from pics but I can tell ya, I LOVE mine. I used a metallic black Chrysler color ..code is PX8 (I think) I "de-emblemed" it and highlighted it with chrome edging.
  23. According to the fella I'm buying the bike from, here's what he found on Yamaha's web site... Section B Subsequent Owner The warranty provided for in Section A may be transferred to any subsequent owner provided that the period of warranty has not expired and that the CUSTOMER has complied with all terms and conditions of this warranty. The subsequent owner has the responsibility for ensuring that a change of registration is sent to YAMAHA at the time of transfer of ownership. This transfer must be done by contacting the DEALER who will forward the following information to YAMAHA: a) the complete model and serial number as shown on the original warranty document; b) the name of the previous owner; c) the original delivery date of the MOTORCYCLE; d) the complete name and address of the subsequent owner; e) the indication that the subsequent owner has received and read the owner's manual and this warranty policy.
  24. If ya got Canadian beer in the fridge, there shouldn't be any need to choose... btw, what brand is it?
  25. So, I called a different dealer and got a straight answer... basically, whenever I feel like it, take the registration to the dealer and he'll look after it. In the meantime, if anything goes wrong...it really doesn't matter...they'll swap it over at that time. Essentially, the warranty is for the bike, not the person who owns it (so he says).
