  1. 6 celcius (42 F) today... a bit sunny...wife & I bundled up and rode for about 5 hrs. We were a bit chilled by the time we got home but nothing too serious. Was a great ride! In less than 2 weeks I've put on more km's than the original owner put on in 2 years!
  2. heh... if we were all 7' 3" we'd probably have the same feelings! fyi, I prefer it when my feet are pointing UPwards! oh, but that's not related to motorcycles..... (but it could be!) so there!
  3. You mean there are folks out there who don't do this already??? They're certainly not a part of this group! btw, there is a movie about this...it's very good I think.
  4. I never had my own device for balancing carbs so, I would get them checked at a shop only when the bike appeard to need it... some 2 or 3 year intervals. Now that I own a 2nd gen, I will be ordering the Morgan Carb-tune as it appears these 2nd gen's require it more often than 1st gen's.... :witch_brew:
  5. heh... we just finished the soup we made from the carcass from our turkey coz our thanksgiving was.... weeks ago? .... Maybe I'll be ready for more turkey come xmas but right now, I just want STEAK!
  6. took me a second or so to get the jist of what you meant LOL ... so just to confirm, you're positioning your heel in preparation for the upshift in such a way that your brain knows that your shifter is right behind your heel.... heh .. good plan .... only one problem .... my heel is usually on the ground with the rest of my foot .... then when I take off, I place my feet on the floorboards and then I sometimes have to "hunt around" with my heel to find the shifter... haha... guess it's like finding your nose with your index finger when your eyes are closed... sometimes you get it right on, other times you're a little off... the more you do it , the more consistently accurate you are.
  7. My new scoot is the first one I've ever had with either floorboards or heel-toe shifter. Took a bit getting used to them...still haven't fully trained my right brain where the heel shift is but it's getting there LOL. Gotta say...I do like both and the position of my legs/feet are far more comfortable.
  8. I'm curious to know what brand / part number of fuel filter you guys used to replace (and relocate) the stock one. Is there any write-up / pics anywhere for this?
  9. heh... mustof had a woman passenger huh? ( I think I'll run and hide now..)
  10. heh... yep... but this is British Columbia... the province of Government run everything LOL we have a dictatorship here. I used to live in Alberta (several years ago so things may have changed). At that time I had two vehicles and a motorcycle. I moved to BC but before I did, I sold one vehicle and the motorcycle. My insurance for one vehicle in BC was at the very least double what I paid for all 3 in Alberta.
  11. heyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!! speak for yourself !!! signed (a guy from Canada) :rotf: :rasberry:
  12. I put storage insurance on mine and if a day is nice enough to go for a ride, I get a one day permit which only cost's $25. Since that doesn't happen too often, it's a lot cheaper than full insurance all year long. My new scoot costs considerably more than my '87 due to the value. My '87 insurance was $91 a month for 6 months. The new scoot is $158/month . Neither included collision... just a million third party and full comprehensive with $300 deductable.

  14. heh ... ok.. now I'm getting my right and my left mixed up... was I going UP the stairs or was I going DOWN? LOL This must be another one of those things like the chrome heat shield on top of the rear cam/valve cover... some are on the right and some are on the left..some are upside down... My aux DC outlet is on the clutch lever side of the cowling... go figgure!
  15. Is that when sitting facing forward or when sitting facing rearward?? :rotf:
  16. When I'm sitting on the bike, mine is on the left side.
  17. oh... DUHHHH .... (me slaps forehead) ... LOL
  18. In case anyone's looking for the "how to" on above, here's the link... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=3905
  19. Ah yes... I seem to recall a thread about how to do this. Thanks guys...mucho appreciated!
  20. In the owner's manual, it lists an Aux DC jack and Aux DC terminal. Is the jack the same on as that used for the audio headset? How do you use the Aux DC terminal? Could someone pls elaborate...thanks
  21. Interesting...verrrrrryyyy interesting... do U happen to have a web link for that?
  22. you mean the seat belt for strapping down those "rib jabbers" that sits behind you? :rotf:
  23. I rarely wear t-shirts but I'll buy some cotton ones for my scoot anyway!
  24. good idea which I will do sometime over the winter; however, the whine I'm referring to does not come from the driveline but rather, the engine. It IS the infamous "chirp" ya'll talk about. I do notice tho that the stock tires do produce a bit of a "howl"... no biggie tho..when the time comes I'll be mounting Avon's most likely.
  25. Won't accept Canadian addresses... anyone have a link for the same thing on the Canadian site? I did some looking but couldn't find anything.
