Thanks ... I believe it does help ... it's basically the same as I already have thru a single switch I use to my aux lights ... I think I "get it". Only difference would be I don't put an "in-line" switch in the cig-lighter line (which I use to turn on or off the lights when I choose) ... I can probably just use the existing relay (which is, I believe, a Bosch 30 amp) and re-route the wires accordingly.
-
I realize a relay is not needed; however, the switch box is wired directly to the battery (according to the instructions) which means the power is live all the time... I'd rather hook it into switched power somehow...with or without a relay. I suppose I could rig a relay up at the fuse block I put under the seat so that power only goes to the switch box when the key is on...just not sure exactly how to wire it so that there is the full 30 amps as per the installation instructions.
-
I've been contemplating buying this product; however, when I look at the installation instructions, I can't "fathom" how to connect it up using a relay either for the switch as a whole or separate relays for each accessory connected. Does anyone have suggestions...wiring diagram c/w relay, etc?

I watched a video on the Honda Insight... I noticed no running lights. What's happened to that rule that all (new) cars must have running lights? I see more and more now without them...even cop cars...did they do away with that?

Interesting idea. I'm wondering tho if that only works when sent by an individual whereas if it's a company such as Baron's, customs would catch onto that..??

Still waiting to receive them from UPS; however, I had emailed Barons about my displeasure in that they shipped UPS rather than USPS and here's the email I got back... ____________________________________________________ Hello Rick, Sorry for the error we made in shipping your order to you. I was as surprised as you were to see your package shipped via UPS. As you can see on the invoice it was scheduled to ship via USPS. International small box items are supposed to ship via the Postal service. Unfortunately it looks as though the shipping department simply made the error of using the wrong service. I'm guessing they compared the rates and seeing UPS was much less expensive they shipped it that way not realizing the amount of UPS brokerage fees that would be tacked on. We are revising our web site to be able to provide an accurate shipping quote to International customers within 24 hours of ordering to eliminate the confusion that can arise depending on the part ordered. Large dimension boxes are actually less expensive via UPS even with the brokerage fees. Long story short we are not unsympathetic to what happened in your situation. We cannot issue you a refund for the fees as they were not charged by us. But I can offer to put the $41.16 you were charged on account for you to use if you can find something else for your Venture that may interest you. Once again we apologize for the mistake. Fortunately for us I can't remember another case like yours. Unfortunately we decided to pick on you for this one. Please let me know if you see something of interest and I will make sure we get it right. ____________________________________________________ Now, if that ain't good customer service, I don't know what. :thumbsup2: to Baron Custom Accessories !

Dropped my Helmet, need reccomendations on replacement
SilvrT replied to Sunman's topic in Watering Hole
Those "full-face" flip up helmets are very interesting but I'm conerned about the weight of them. I have problems in my neck and it doesn't take much helmet weight to screw my neck up. Anyone know of a weight comparison chart for various helmets? -
oh c'mon... the government has been controlling the weather for years (why do you think it's so screwed up)... you don't still believe in "Mother Nature" do ya? :rotf:

I'm keeping mine.. you can't have it! good idea tho.

I don't think this thread will "go political" per se` ... I think we can comment about GM and Chry without getting into a heated political debate. We all know better. BTW, did you hear there's a new, simplified tax form coming out next year? Only ONE question.... HOW MUCH DID YOU MAKE? __________ SEND IT IN! :rotf:

StuD put me onto a place just south of the border that US orders can be delivered to and since it's so close, I can drive down there and pick them up...saves a ton of shipping costs. I'll be doing that in the future. Meanwhile, I had received my LED lightbar as well as my trunk rack via USPS and neither of those items cost anywhere near what UPS charged for my risers. A few month's ago I purchased (thru the US) a new firewall for our network at work ... what a royal PITA that was getting it....again, UPS shipped. I bought it from the manufacturer directly (Sonicwall) because they gave me a deal so good, nobody in Can could even come close.... I saved over $2000 over a 3 year support contract so, the PITA getting it was worth it.

The way I see it is sales are way down and inventories are high. They cut profit margins to sell them, offer zero % APR financing, pay your gas for a year, and on and on just to move the product and cut their losses... but with all that, they still can't get out of the hole so what do ya do?... cut production...and in so doing, they close outlets because there ain't no product to sell. I don't profess to know a lot about how a dealership is run but I think it's a whole lot more complicated than a guy paying franchise fees...I think the GM or Chry corporations have a huge hand in the various dealerships...I'd guess they own the buildings and property in a lot of cases. The government takes over because GM (for example) has exhausted it's credit lines every where else and to completely shut down is a huge economic impact that reaches far beyond the average person's understanding. Our governments aren't gong to let that happen to us so they do what they have to to lessen the blow. Unfortunately, it's our taxes that support that but that's why we pays 'em. (just my inflated and CAN/US exchange $0.07)

Nina & I were seriously looking at the '09 Ultra last Oct/Nov. Test rode it 3 times and really liked it. The '09 is smooth, has lots of power, comfortable, and is very nimble. Unfortunately we just couldn't afford it so we bought the '06 Midnight Venture. We're very happy with the Venture but to be honest, if I had the bucks, I'd be riding that '09 Ultra. As other's have said, it ain't what you ride that matters as long as you're out there with the wind in your face. Having said that, it's still ok to poke fun as long as it's in jest and not outright bashing.

I ordered my bar risers from Baron's. Their on-line price seemed to be the best deal and they told me they ship via USPS. Today, when I got home, there was a "sticker" from UPS that they'd attempted to deliver but couldn't (because I wasn't here). UPS wants an additional $41.16 for Brokerage & customs duties. What a bunch of CRAP! Further, UPS doesn't deliver to my home in the evenings or weekend so, I had to go thru a royal runaround to get them to deliver it to my work address. After spending what seemed like a half an hour wasting time trying to get that address re-routed, the last thing they asked is...what's your postal code at the delivery address... well, I didn't know it so the agent said "sorry, without a postal code, we can't deliver it"... imagine!!! so I say "with all your technology you can't figgure out what the postal code is?" ... "nope" she says..."sorry but we don't have that ability" so then I have to go looking up the danged postal code for my work which ain't always an easy process because Canada Post has somehow screwed up their postal code lookup web... geeeeeeeeeeesh what a royal PITA this has been, not to mention that my risers, in total with the Can-US exchange rate, now cost me almost $150. USPS costs are peanuts in comparison.

ok, ok ... it's an optical illusion... probably only seen by my eyes ... it looks like a large lizzard or something...maybe like a chameleon...but it's really just another part of the dead tree...more pronounced under lower light conditions such as just before dusk or just after dawn. I was looking at it last evening and at first, I really thought it was something...but when it didn't move after a while I then realized my eyes were playing tricks on me so.... thought I'd see if anyone else could see what I was seeing (had to find out if anyone else was as crazy as me) :rotf:
