  1. Rick, I think you've been coming to Canada too much... I noticed you're starting to talk with an " eh " ...
  2. that's good Rick.... real good ! ... eh (phsycology 101 ... )
  3. I'll sell mine after I'm done with it .... heck, I'll even give it to you (but I'm not so sure you'd want to admit to anyone that you actually have it in your posession) ... :rotf: (I'll post a pic once I'm in the progress of putting the clutch back together this weekend)
  4. I'd think you could use it to trigger the relay but as the main power source for the lights you should have a heavier, fused line. As Sarges46 says "Check out the tech section on wiring passing lamps"
  5. I have just been informed by my dealer that he has received my " I " basket and I can come get it. Here is his previous email to me... "hi Rick let me start by apologizing I messed-up with Yamaha's info. I had ordered the wrong part number and confused the heck out of Toronto and that is why it has been taking so long. I have since resolved the problem and will expect the part in within a few days. again I am so sorry for all of this.I will let you know as soon as I get it in. " This guy is, IMHO, great!

    Why?

WHY is the sky blue? WHY do men have nipples? WHY do cats purr? WHY is there a dead pakistani on my couch? WHY did the chicken cross the road? WHY can't I own a Canadian? WHY do dogs eat ...... grass? WHY did Michael Jackson shop at Walmart? WHY am I bothering to type this message?
  7. Thanks for posting this... it was a great read ... the kid really has a flair for describing many feelings I've had while out on the road by myself.
  8. here we go again... are they passing lamps or are they driving lamps.... the debate continues.... Who gives a crap? ... they are AUXILLIARY LIGHTS...period! let's move on
  9. a CD player for music nowadays is almost a thing of the past. I use Sirius XM on the scoot and digital satellite music thru the TV/stereo in the home. Hardly ever crank up my ancient CD player on the stereo system. Don't have an MP3 player but eventually I will get one.
  10. heh ... proof that I am capable of responding with an answer other than a joke LOL YVW
  11. More things are chrome ... like the front forks, brake & clutch lever mounting hardware, etc...
  12. without passing lamps, you are not allowed to pass anyone ....
  13. huh? what'd ye say? (as I fumble around for my hearing aid volume control)
  14. Speaking of onions...and not meaning to hijack this thread but ... for years and years I suffered from gastric pains ... could not figgure it out ... sometimes the pain was quite severe. Found out thru a friend a few years back (who was allergic to onions) that it was the onion. Onion is in just about everything at a restaurant in one way or another. Mainly in soups or sauces. We use them at home when we cook as well .... slice 'em up on this or that. I like onions but.... since I stopped eating anything that had onion in it, or anything that's a part of the onion family, no more gastric pains ... just an FYI.
  15. It didn't reduce the whine at all ... but now I hear 2 distinct sounds... the whine, and the bark of the mufflers ... sometimes the mufflers overpower the whine so, I guess the answer is ... the louder the mufflers, the less chance of hearing the whine ... does that make any sense? hmmmmm... straight pipes anyone?
  16. SNOW???? ... ICE???? what's that??? :rasberry: Well let me answer your Q .... Firstly, you know where I live. Secondly, over the coming months (December, January, February, and March) while your scoot is stored away for the WINTER because you have FRIGID TEMPS, SNOW, and ICE ... guess what I will be doing... RIDING MY SCOOT :rasberry: (I knew my turn would come) All kidding aside tho ... you've been pretty lucky to get in as much riding as you did up to last Thursday. I doubt I will ride much over those month's coz we get very few nice enuf days on the weekend to ride but... for the most part ... it's generally SNOW & ICE FREE and the temps are almost always ABOVE ZERO.
  17. here's another thread for an idea... [ame=http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=41530]Stebel Nautilus Horn Install - VentureRider.Org[/ame]
  18. I would just like to add that it isn't just Freebird or the moderators that make this a great site... it's ALL the great folks here ... we all make it what it is and that says an awful lot about each and every one here.
  19. Now that reminds me of a joke that was posted here recently about the blond ... guy told her he needed his porch painted ...gave her a bucket of paint and a brush ... she thought he said Porsche ... :rotf:
  20. actually, that's what I was looking for when I came across the house one ... as it turns out tho, wife wants the bedroom painted and we've been mulling over colors, etc for a couple months and still can't decide... this thing will surely help a lot.
  21. do you have a headset plugged in? I think that volume control only works when the headset is connected.
  22. This is way cool .... click here
  23. One thing that hasn't been mentioned but I believe is something that makes it easier and easier for drivers to a) not see you and b) not hear you (consider those comments from ambulance and police car drivers). The automotive manufacturing industry is making vehicles virtually sound proof, they are adding advanced, surround sound stereo systems, GPS navigation systems, TV's and so on .... with all these "distractions" readilly available that makes the cockpit of a vehicle more like a person's personal "media room", how easy does that make it for drivers to be distracted from their NUMBER ONE responsibility when behind the wheel. Heck, even in my 1996 Dakota, with the windows up and the heater or A/C going full blast it is sometimes hard to hear an emergency vehicle siren until it is quite close. Look at some of these luxury cars nowadays ... 12 speaker stereo's, in-dash GPS and integrated TV..you name it... sheeeesh ... I gotta stop now... I'm making myself angry...
  24. ya'll are talkin about deep-fryin a turkey (or maybe even a Chicken) ... jus' wondering how many have had Drunken Chicken or Turkey ???
  25. awrite .... you opened the door ... time to let the cat out (share the info) ... SilvrT ... who's gonna bug ya until ya give it up!
