  1. I bought my '06 RSMV a year ago Nov... it was used with only 1300 kilometers on it. Paid $12,900 and the insurance co valued it at $16,000 ... but... that's here in CanNuhDuh...eh.
  2. I would never re-use an oil seal. YES
  3. I got a little stick-on digital from Canadian Tire for about $4 and stuck it to the dash beside the right speaker.
  4. I have been impressed with Subaru since 1977 when I had 2 of them on my car rental fleet. We had GM, Chrysler, & Ford products as well and the only ones that never caused any problems were the Subies.
  5. They are called "collars" and have the same part number so they should be the same.
  6. not required... unless you can't "get it up" high enuf...
  7. Piece of cake... undo and remove the brake calipers (the mounting bolts, not the "slider" bolts) hang them off to the side a bit undo the axle and slide it out, holding the wheel as you do drop the wheel oh yeah.... jack the scoot up first LOL
  8. Exactly! ... and if it's on the Right, the dealer (or somebody) had no idea what it was or where to install it.
  9. Here's some info and pics of where I installed mine... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=41530&highlight=stebel
  10. One would think so but then how can you accurately determine that unless you could live life over again and not be a motorcycle rider ... (forget it! ain't gonna happen! couldn't imagine life without a scoot!) All kidding aside tho, there's no doubt in my mind that riding a motorcycle has made me a far more defensive driver than anyone I know who doesn't ride a scoot.
  11. Another of Harley's aggressive promos/advertising no doubt. Riding the RSV, I bet most Best Western managers/counter staff wouldn't know the difference between it and a Harley LOL
  12. I've just replaced my plugs with the Iridium ones. I have about the same mileage as you and the original plugs were still in good condition. Other things you should do at this stage (besides changing oil and filter)... Remove the rear wheel and grease those splines real good. Remove the 5-pin "damper" and clean it up and lube it real good (there's a circlip that holds it in). Swap the inner and outer rear brake pads. Pull the pumpkin and lube the splines on the driveshaft (both ends). Lube all pivot points on the rear shock. Check steering head bearing load (adjustment). Check the carb sync if you have the tool. There are writeups on all of the above somewhere on the site.
  13. Same for me but thanks for this great idea albeit a "tad" late for me LOL
  14. Everything about me is "my normal" ... anyone who is different... well, they just aren't!
  15. Now don't be tellin that to your wife... :rotf:
  16. So what you're really saying is, if you want to get some yard work done, hire an athlete...
  17. hmmmmm... guess I missed it ... well I'm still envious
  18. Took ya long enuf to reveal this info... I think we were all waiting impatiently! Very nice I might add... I'm envious big time!
  19. Torque refers to the force required to move an object..eg. the more torque, the heavier the object that can be moved. Horsepower refers to the ability to move something along once it gets going. I guess that would be "my" interpretation I guess from your post you already know that... so I have no idea why I posted this ...
  20. E3's are sold at Canadian Tire and Lordco here in BC, Can ... and they are $8.99 each at Can Tire.
  21. You're welcome ... glad to help and that you got things straightened out.
  22. I dunno... seems so many of y'all have more vehicles than ya know what to do with. I've had a lot of vehicles during my life but not more than 3 at any one time ... nowadays we rarely drive the 4 wheeled one anywhere and surely no need for multiples of those. 1996 Dodge Dakota SLT extended cab V8 2wd ... 302,000 kms and purrs like a kitten. In 2 years since we got it we've only put on appx 10,000 kms and other than the scoot, that's the only vehicle we have. Public transit gets us back and forth to work and the scoot takes us on whatever trips we do.
  23. Here's a link to a post showing how I mounted my Sirius ... might work for a GPS ...? http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showpost.php?p=393065&postcount=5
  24. I rarely check my gas mileage and for the most part, don't really care unless it's so bad that I'm stopping for gas before I need a smoke I was getting around 46 mpg on the '87 and I know I can go farther on the '06 before needing gas than on the '87 so I'm happy with that. (yes, I know the tank is bigger)
