Since the demise of the $2 and $1 bill here in Canada, cashiers seem to have adopted this idea that change should be handed back based on what they were, rather than what they are. I'm referring to the Loonie and Twonie .... Coin is coin. Coin has always been handed back separate from bills so why now are they handing the twonie and loonie back with the bills, yet all other coin is handed separately? Do they not realize the difficulty it creates. The person receiving it has to then separate those coins from the bills and put them with the rest of his/her coins wherever that person keeps them. Me ... I put all coins in my pocket and bills go into my wallet. What's worse is when the cashier holds the bills in their hand with ALL coins stacked on top ... any slip of the balance and the coins spill off. Who is teaching these people about this? To me it makes no sense whatsoever. Hand me all the coins first and then the bills and don't mix them together PUHLEEZE!!

The guy on the bicycle wasn't planning to turn right ... there was a car in front of me turning left and nobody coming from the opposite direction and I think the biker was fixated on the car so figured it was clear to blast through ... and then he saw me! Cyclists around here, in general, have no regard for the rules of the road whatsoever. Bicycle couriers are the worst offenders. Blasting down the sidewalk, going the wrong direction on a one-way street, ... geeesh... don't get me started! LOL

You've been talking to our Mayor, haven't you!!! In the years our current Mayor has been in office there have been more bike lanes added to our city streets than affordable housing has been built And now they've added a huge "bike share" operation called Mobi with bike share stations all over the place, in most cases eliminating several vehicle (or motorcycle) parking spots. https://www.mobibikes.ca/ No mention of how the city is planning on improving the flow of traffic through the city and across the Lion's Gate bridge to the north shore though Sorry, guess I'm bordering on political rant eh?

Yup ... one more reason I ride in the right track when traffic approaching and I'll admit, I do not move back to the left track until they have passed. My reasoning is that with all the distracted drivers out there as well as all the foreigners who've recently received the right to drive here in Canada and especially in the lower mainland of BC, one never knows when one of them will wander across the yellow line into my lane so staying in the right track gives them (or me) a much larger "buffer zone". While these things I practice are my own opinion, to me they are based on simple logic and for me it works. It may not be the theory of the masses but frankly, I don't always agree with the masses. Just because that's the way it's always been done does not mean it's right or there isn't a better or different way. While I don't ride with high beam on in the daytime, I do ensure that the lighting on my bike is gonna be seen. I always install very bright auxiliary driving lamps on my bikes and from the time I had my Wing I've run HID headlight as well. Now with the Roady I'm installing a Daymaker LED. That, along with the Kuryakyn passing lamps should be more than adequate to ensure my visibility to oncoming drivers.

I do wonder if some of this is theory or fact. Has there been surveys of drivers that support this or is it just opinion. Not that I disagree ... I'm just one of those "prove it to me" kinda guys. Personally, as a driver seeing an on coming motorcycle, I have never thought any of those thoughts. "when a line of traffic is coming toward you, that next to the center line is a bad place, but too far over also blends you into the landscape" ... I do agree with that; however, if one has decent lighting it's pretty hard to blend into the landscape. There is the "groove" between the centre of the lane and the edge (either right or left). It's the track where the cage wheels roll. That is where I ride ... either in the right one or the left one ... sometimes in the middle. Regardless, I have always and will always in the future stick to my "method" as it has never failed me .... so far (good banter!)

For the most part you're correct however... Guess I should have clarified my post .... You're all alone and multiple vehicles approaching. Drivers anywhere behind the front vehicle ... generally those wanting to pass someone. If you're in the left side of your lane their line of sight is either blocked or reduced. They have to come to their left and sometimes even cross the centre line before they will see you. If you're in the right of the lane, they will see you much sooner. Here you can see that V-2's vision of MC-1 is blocked whereas V-2 can clearly see MC-2 For my own protection, this is the rule I follow for obvious reason's. Have you ever been driving at night, behind another vehicle, perhaps a van of some sort, and wanted to pass so you squeezed over to the left a bit and saw the way was (or seemed) clear.... so you gunned it and crossed the centre line only to discover an on-coming vehicle with it's RIGHT headlight burnt out? You didn't see it because it's left light was blocked by the vehicle in front of you.

There I was, my green light, I'm half way through the intersection and out of the corner of my right eye I see this guy blasting along on his bike, about ready to go right through HIS RED light. Luckily he saw me at the same time and we both nailed our brakes. He got stopped in time and I carried on, shaking my head as I passed by in front of him. Lucky for him as his bicycle wouldn't stand a chance against my motorcycle .. I did learn though that it's pretty easy to lock up the back wheel on this Road Star!

Speaking of riding position.... When I ride on a 2 lane highway, if there is no one in front of me but traffic approaching, I always ride to the right of the lane. That puts me into oncoming driver's vision sooner and also gives a larger "buffer zone" if someone approaching crosses the line. Conversely, if I am following someone, I will ride in the left of the lane. An oncoming driver that is planning to pass will see me and not an "open hole". This also allows me to see better as to what's coming towards me. On those 4 laners I tend to ride wherever I feel safest at the time.

Sorry to hear of your displeasure of Win10. Did you run ccleaner prior to upgrading? If not, download it and run it and clean up unnecessary files and optimize your registry. You may need to look for a driver for your sound card that is Win10 compatible. Use either FireFox or Maxthon to browse the Web. IE and that other piece of crap that comes with Win10 are useless IMO. Considering the specs of your computer, it should not be running slow and freezing. Can you specify what exactly is running slow/freezing? Is it certain apps?

We're allowed here in BC. They call them "HOV" lanes (aka High Occupancy Vehicle).

Things like this get to us at our age more so than when younger. I'm considerably more "docile" now than I used to be although I do get the occasional bout of "rebel rouser" ... like just a few minutes ago I was walking beck to my work when a young guy came out of the bank, turned in my direction and immediately became engrossed in his cell phone and almost walked right into me. I side-stepped slightly and nailed him with my elbow as he passed ... he had no idea I was there. Sooner or later that kind of thing is going to erupt into a battle with someone.... not sure if I can still handle that.

When I'm planning to type a lengthy body of text into an internet form, I'll do it in Word first ... then copy/paste it to the form when I'm ready.

Glad to hear you're up and running again however, I'm puzzled. If your other two computers were connecting to the router and accessing the internet, why was it necessary to replace the router just so your computer could connect? Simply doesn't make sense to me so would appreciate some enlightenment ... being a 30 year IT guy I'm always looking to learn something new.

BTW, it's actually called Realtek so it's easy to find drivers, just do a google search. What operating system are you on? Win7? 8? 10?

You mean bypassed the wireless and hard wired the network card to the router? Drivers for network cards are generally on a CD that comes with your computer or within a folder on the C: drive. You should delete the Realties PCle GBE family controller, reboot your computer and let Windows find it and install the appropriate driver. If it can't find the driver on the hard drive, then have it locate it on the CD if you have one. If not, use one of your other computers to find the drivers on the internet and download them to a USB stick and transfer them to your PC and try again.

Yes Try direct wire connection ... if you can get to internet that way then something amuss with your wireless device on the PC.

Check your IP addresses on each computer ... maybe a conflict? Turn off your Windows firewall and see if anything changes (although it shouldn't cause this) Which NIC do you normally use ... wireless? Disable the ones you don't use and see what happens. If it's the wireless, is it trying to connect to a different router other than yours? Do you use a USB wireless dongle? If so, unplug it and plug it back in. Mine started losing connections and I'd have to do that... I went and bought a new one. Have you changed the location of your PC? Maybe something within your home is interrupting the signal?

Yup Clive, it sure is ... but there is no way I will ever have another RSV even though I do like many things about them. The poor balance, geometry, and weight distribution is terrible compared to pretty much every other bike I've ridden including 1st gens and folks, that's an undisputable fact I don't care who you are LOL.
