I agree and I wish folks would take the naysayers with a grain of salt as there will always be differences of opinion and that shouldn't be grounds for folks to go so far as to "move on".

LOL how true! Gonna try and find a decent 14' or 16' aluminum fishing boat with maybe a 25-40 hp motor next spring. Hoping to find one with mid-span steering and a 4 or 5 hp kicker. That's what Nina wanted me to buy in the first place but they are very hard to come by and don't go cheap

Was an avid buidler for several years when I was young ... then I got too involved in motorcycles, working, partying .... and didn't do anything with models for many years until the last 3 months of our trip in the 5th wheel ... That Kaw was a great bike for a really good price considering what they are selling for around here. I was gonna check out an '03 Road Star and the price was real inviting ... $2750 CAD .. pics showed a really clean bike and normally they run around $4000 here ... but that was her money this time LOL As for what I sold the boat for... we lost a bit on it but we only had it a couple months and spent about a grand on a custom snap on cover and a fish finder ... basically no more than what we'd have spent renting a boat for the number of times we had it out on the water ... next spring I'll try and find a 14 or 16 aluminum fishing boat coz river fishing here is great and a boat launch is only a couple minutes from our new place.

Sold the B.O.A.T. today .... wanted to replace it with a bike but the warden said "NO" ... she wants the cash for upgrades she wants to do in our new to us house that we bought and take possession on Sep 1. (I just can't understand her reasoning at all)

Me neither ... all I know is he went to Calif ... and what's happening there with the forest fires is really concerning. That said, we have a lot of fires here in BC but folks can still travel pretty much anywhere ... just have to put up with a lot of smoke. Here's a shot out our back yard ... the mountain side across the river can hardly be seen yet it isn't that far away.

A group of male lawyers lived and died for their Saturday morning round of golf. One transferred to another city. It wasn't the same without him.. A new woman lawyer joined their law firm. She overheard the guys talking about their golf round. She said, "You know, I used to play on my golf team in college and I was pretty good Would you mind if I joined you next week?" The three guys looked at each other. Not one of them wanted to say 'yes', but she had them on the spot. Finally, one man said it would be okay, but they would be starting early -- at 6:30 am. It's probably on "spiritual ground" .... isn't every part of BC ??? I mean, seems they can declare any place here "spiritual ground" whenever they decide it's appropriate.... OK, mouth and fingers are now zipped....

My personal opinion.... I went "double-dark" on my '03 Wing and just dark on my '13 Victory CCT. - Less expensive by leaps and bounds when you factor in the initial tire price and the extended mileage you get out of it. - as good or better handling especially on slippery surfaces - smoother ride - more weight capacity - as good or better cornering especially on slippery surfaces such as tar snakes, wet pavement, etc - and... I know this is a bit of a debatable point but there are tests that show "some" C/T tires have more tread on the ground in a corner than an M/C tire. the ONLY downside I and many others find is it doesn't track as well on those ridges in the highway ... tends to want to run off the high point ... that said, you very quickly get used to it and don't even notice the difference after a while. "some" say going into and out of a lean is an issue but with the right C/T, (one that has a slightly rounded outer edge), you really don't notice anything. For me, a C/T is the ticket on a big tourer. (and I know there are many nay-sayers out there ... that is their choice ... I'm not trying to sway them, only stating my personal experience and feelings and you can be sure I did a LOT of research on the subject before I pulled the trigger)

Now this is a controversial subject I try to keep my lip zipped about coz it really irks me.

We've had zero significant rain for about 3 months here and for several weeks now the temps have been in the mid to upper 30's celcius with a few days hitting 40+. Fires are everywhere but thankfully nothing close but the smoke is about as bad as it can get. While our situation is bad, I don't think it even compares to what's happening in California.

Exactly! ... the whine, at least on my '06, was most noticeable between appx 2800 and 3100 rpm ... the "workaround" was to either drop down a gear and run at a higher rpm or go up a gear and be at a lower rpm. It would always seem that, at lower than highway speeds, one would be in that "whine range" of the rpm.
