Look at the back side of the basket... you will clearly see an " I " stamped on it. Here is a pic of mine showing a " G " ... [ATTACH]42644[/ATTACH] This is the basket the dealer installed...was supposed to be an " I " but they just stuck this G basket in. Then I checked it and made them bring a proper I basket in. They said that somehow the part numbers got fouled up. yeahsureright! The G basket never made any difference but once I got the I basket, the whine is almost gone... at least to the point that it is hardly noticeable and it no longer is bothersome.

If you go to a Yamaha (or Kawasaki or Suzuki, etc) dealer and the majority of product on display revolves around off-road bikes, crotch rockets, ATV's and/or PWC's .... that's a good indication they won't know much about an RSV .. LOL

great advice ... but what about an alternate suggestion to a "furriner"? Actually I've ridden thru there and really didn't seem bothered by the traffic and that was during the days when I lived in smaller cities ... before I moved here to Vancouver which has some of the worst traffic I've ever seen..partly due to the stupid drivers who immigrated here and partly due to the crappy infrastructure. I've also ridden in Southern California... if one can call SLO and points north as "southern".

Now this is odd ... Google maps says I should turn off I-84 and take US-26 E to Gooding and then take ID-46 to Wendell ... DUH?? why not stay on I-84 ... makes no sense to me LOL

On both my '85 and '87 I got over 40 mpg consistently. Not sure what I get on the '06 but it is close. Dunno how far a guy should expect to go on a tank of gas .... I never gauge it that way ... I always get gas or start looking for it when the tank shows about 3/8 .

I will admit that if I had had the bucks a year ago last November when I bought the RSV, I would be riding an '09 Ultra today. I will also admit that if I came into a lot of extra money today or anytime in the future, I will be riding an Ultra. I'm not saying I don't like the RSV, nor am I saying I'm regretting buying it. It's an awesome bike and if I had the bucks for an Ultra plus the RSV, I wouldn't let go of the RSV. So yes, for me it was about the money. I flat out LOVE the Harley Ultra ... I do not care to be part of the Harley Rider's "group/lifestyle". I am and always will be a semi non-joiner ... meaning that I prefer going my own way, and not being a part of a "group". I enjoy a once-in-a-while get-together with friends who ride bikes, regardless of what they ride but for the most part, I am a bit of a loner.

I just flipped 20k kilometers and haven't done the fuel filter yet. Dunno...maybe it's time? -
Just a reminder to inspect the basket yourself to ensure it is, in fact, an I basket so ya don't wind up in the situation I did.

Personally speaking, I would never take my scoot to a STealer for anything unless it's for a warranty repair. If a guy must take it to a shop, find a non-dealer bike shop that has a guy who knows these bikes. Best to either do it yourself if you can or buddy up with some of the members here and pay them. I'd be happy to help out anyone who doesn't have the where-with-all to do their own work.

I sync'd my carbs for the first time about a month ago using a Morgan Carbtune... took me all of 15 minutes. The time it takes is one thing... the time they want to charge a guy for is another. Do it yourself or get a member close to you to do it that has the carb sync tool. It's a piece of cake job. As for curing the vibration.... I really couldn't say. btw, it's not a warranty thing as far as I know. -
Nov/Dec 2008 the '09 Ultra with ABS was selling here in Vancouver, Bc, Canada for $24,795. Current inventory is $26,779 with ABS and Security system.

If a person's legitimacy to secure a janitorial position is dependant on their credit score, then how does one explain how all these immigrants working as janitors who haven't been in the country more than a week and can't speak a word of english? While they don't have a BAD credit score... they have NO credit score so how can anyone trust them more than someone with a so-so or bad credit? Sounds like somebody is getting a pay-off...?
