Maybe they'll only sell it north of the 49th coz heat ain't much of an issue up here
-
Interested... Yes. Would I buy one ... nope, my new bike purchasing days are over. Wife is retiring and that's a major hit to the bank account.
-
WOW, that's a bit over a week away ... can we wait that long?

My Victory also emitted a lot of heat under the right passenger's foot. Removing the CATs, adding a Power Commander and having it dyno-tuned helped a lot but you could still feel the heat simply because both exhaust headers collect there and the fact that the engine is mostly air cooled. The Indian is the same and I figure most V-twins with the same exhaust configuration would be much the same. My Road Star emits heat in the same area albeit not quite as much. Even the Kaw Voyager which is liquid cooled emits a lot of heat. My feeling is, unless you ride in extreme heat most of the time, it's a tolerable item on an otherwise exceptional motorcycle. Many Folks with an RSV that have the infamous clutch basket whine seemingly tolerate that. Other make bike riders tend to have some "issue" yet tolerate it due to they love their bike otherwise. It all boils down to what a person is willing to tolerate to ride what they want.

The Red Baron sulking - StarFan bought another bike

There's a HUGE Vespa club here on the Wet Coast ... saw a group of them heading south of the border yesterday. Daughter's b/f has one but it's not running. He used to use it for commuting to/from University. Was a funny sight to see him (6' 7" and 240 lbs) riding that little thing LOL Will be watching for your progress reports! -
he's more than that ...

Thanks for causing me to improve my vocabulary .... I'm sure I'll remember and use those terms long into the future....

"quick" as it was before the change had the box visible so you could "quickly" type and send a response. Having it so you need to click to open the "quick reply" box does seem pointless ... might as well just open the "advanced" window by default instead.

I also just now see a "Send PM" icon which I've not seen before ... has it been there for a while?

As for my comments to Freebird, I simply felt he jumped the gun and was overreacting and to be straight up about it, it pi$$ed me off some.
-
I'm sorry if anyone felt my tone was arrogant as I was not meaning to "rub their nose in it" ... I was simply stating how it is here but looking back I can see how it could have been taken out of context. My bad.

@venturesome my reference to "assumption" was rickardracing stating "obviously you never read or watch the news". That was his assumption. I was only correcting him.
-
The discussion here had nothing to do with why folks carry a gun or why they don't or the laws associated to them ... it had to do with why they needed to protect themselves while making craigslist transactions. Rickardracing said "Obviously you never read or watch the news. There are a lot of individuals using craigslist to rob people." My responses had to do with correcting his "assumption", pointing out that this problem is not as prevalent here, and stating I felt sorry for those who felt the need to have to pack a firearm. How you all twisted that into it being a debate over gun laws and the for/against argument is beyond me. Mention packing a gun and folks go off "half-cocked" (PUN intended). Like I said, for those who live in areas where they feel the need to "carry", I feel sorry for you as you obviously live in fear for your life. I don't. Would I if I were in your shoes.... probably.
-
What could be and what is are two different things and the only "argument" happening is the one where you're arguing about what might happen. It hasn't happened so stop interfering. I get it that you run the show but you need to stop parenting and allow us some latitude. Give us the benefit of the doubt. Allow us to "police" ourselves just a bit. I apologize for being blunt but sometimes someone has to say what needs to be said. That's all I have to say. Over and out.
-
There's been no mention of gun control laws or debate of same whatsoever. When there is, feel free to jump in and exercise your right.
-
Who's arguing ??? It's just a discussion as far as I'm concerned. Besides, what's a "Watering Hole" forum for if folks can't discuss (or argue for that matter) such topics. The "no-no's" are Politics and Religion as I recall and I don't see either of that here.

ya, I did know 'dis ;-) I live in Surrey, BC ... one of Canada's most notorious areas for drug wars, drive-by shootings, murders, theft of property, etc. Some of it happening just 5 blocks away. No idea how this compares to that area.
-
If you have to carry to keep someone from imposing their will onto you then you are in fear of that happening, plain and simple. Yes, I read the newspaper every day and watch the news at 6PM daily ... around here those things either don't happen or are so infrequent it never makes the news. I have bought and sold a number of things over the years either on craigslist or kijiji and never have I felt I had to protect myself or meet in a public place the prospective buyer or seller. You folks that live in those USA states seem to have no idea what it's like to live in a world where packing a firearm for your own protection is simply not heard of (unless you're a drug dealer). I feel sorry for those that do.

or forging your credit card # and racking it up...

How fortunate many of us are that we don't have to live our lives in such fear....

. A father buys a lie detector robot that slaps people when they lie. He decides to test it out at dinner one night. The father asks his son what he did that day. The son says, "I did some schoolwork." The robot slaps the son. The son says, "Ok, Ok. I was at a friend's house watching movies." Dad asks, "What movie did you watch?" Son says, "Toy Story." The robot slaps the son. Son says, "Ok, Ok we were watching porn." Dad says, "What? At your age I didn't even know what porn was!" The robot slaps the father. Mom laughs and says, "Well, he certainly is your son!" The robot slaps the mother. P.S. ROBOT for Sale

Gimme back the old days when they counted your change back to you starting with the lowest denomination ... you always knew what you got and you always got the coins first. The way they do it today, it's so easy for a clerk to short change a customer.
