Interesting name for what he's doing "Eytalis" ... lol Not necessarilly something that a person can do on car mirrors but on every truck or van that I've owned I always put those small convex mirrors on. Makes a world of difference once you get the hang of using them.

yup ... kinda looks like the trailer is taller than what I've seen most. Wonder how that would pull? Location is about 3 hr drive so viewing it may be a problem.

A preventative maintenance thing many folks don't know about is to drain/flush your water heater regularly ... like once a year maybe. These things will build up sludge and shale in the bottom and eventually reduce the performance and cause them to fail.

In the following ad, the scoot has caliper mounted lights. http://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/mcy/1653768301.html So, the question that has always puzzled me about such a mounting is.... wouldn't the bouncing of the wheel cause the lights to appear as though they were also bouncing, not to mention the vibration factor on the mounting bracketry. I'm sure many have seen an on-coming semi or other vehicle with their driving or fog lamps on and the things are obviously jiggling like crazy just from the roughness of the ride and the flexing of the mounting. Thoughts/comments on this?

OK.. I'll admit that once in a while I don't mind a straight road where I can see my destination 6 hrs from now. It is actually enjoyable to set the cruise @ 140km and just kick back and gawk around, flailing both arms into the wind .... oh, speaking of wind .... those flatlands sure like to beat a guy up with the wind and if it's raining at the same time, man that rain on those prairies is like 1000 needles hittin yer face. Whooops, better grab onto the bars and let's see... how long riding at a 20 degree angle will it be before I get to a corner that will alter the wind direction and I can straighten up....??

Did a lot of repairing on my '87 (see one of the pics in my profile). Used the plastic welding method with a soldering gun and a flat tip. Followed that with ABS 2-part epoxy. Worked very well.

Got a "tip" from an Insurance agent to check out Megson Fitzpatrick Insurance in Victoria, BC. They are a broker who specializes in M/C insurance and I found I can save an additional $109 bucks a year (so that's now $827 savings over ICBC rates). Hot Dang!! This is crazy that my savings for a year is more than many of you guys pay for a year LOL

So, we got out for a ride Saturday ... put on appx 250km or so ... the adjusted tire pressures with the new gauge made a world of difference so apparently I have been running on less than optimum air pressure ever since I got the scoot but never really realized it until I put on the smaller front tire (and tested with a different gauge).

Hard to argue with a prairie boy.... Here's a tip for enjoying the scenery in the mountains....SLOW DOWN ... LOL Thing is, out my way the scenery changes at each corner (of which there are many) .... out your way, the scenery is pretty much the same no matter where you are or how long of a ride you're on... (flat or slightly rolling fields of wheat, etc) Nope... I'll take the mountains any day.

In this area there's not too many ride variations a person can do in a 5 hr timeline but the one we do most often is ... Start from home in Burnaby Make our way over to hwy 7 thru Maple Ridge and out to Mission...stop there for coffee. Then on to Agassiz, across the river to Rosedale and follow the back route to Chilliwack From Chilliwack, we work our way over to Yarrow, then hook up with the freeway to Watcom road...stop for coffee and donut. From there it's over to Vye road and straight past the Abbotsford airport, little jog over to 16th and back down to 8th and over to White Rock. Cruise the strip at White Rock and maybe stop for fish & chips or some appy's and take in the "strip-cruisers" (those who know White Rock will know what I mean) From there it's back home to Burnaby. This is probably not the safest thing to do but has worked for me for many, many years and several helmets ... I sew velcro into the chin strap .... then I just feed the strap thru the D ring once and hook the strap together with the velcro. Simple, quick, and easy.
