    I don't think there's any guarantee that a vmax basket would get rid of the whine. It's something a person would just have to try and see. Just like the I-basket... it's not a sure-fire cure because it all depends on how the gears of the basket mesh with the primary drive gear.

    That's what had me wondering coz mine self-cancel regardless of what the speed seems to be when I turn them on. Unless, of course, that speed that you refer to is very low...like almost stopped. I'll have to experiment with this coz now I'm curious.

    When I want her to turn right, I tug on her right arm... for left, tug on her left arm...

    Here in my part of the world, it would seem that the rule is... when turning or lane changing, it is necessary that your signal light flashes at least once ... doesn't matter if it's before the turn/lane change, during, or after it. If it doesn't flash at least once, no biggie coz by the time you would have flashed it, you've already made the turn/lane change and everyone behind you now knows what you're doing/did anyway.

    Even though I have them, I'm just in the habit of cancelling them myself after completing a turn. The odd occasion that I don't, I notice they tend to stay on longer than I'd like (after completing the turn). As for them cancelling themselves before I make the turn, that never seems to bother me. I check them anyway and re-activate them if needed.

    Welcome Bill ... Those grommets can be had at many auto supply places...they're fairly standard. Just take and old one to compare for size. That's what I did. You'll probably find that what you get might be a bit tighter but hey, tighter is better, isn't it? .... just shave some of the edge off the plastic pin and add a dab of lubricant and they'll slide right into the hole.

    I agree with others who know this country, as I do... any of the mountain passes, especially in early May, are very unpredictable and the chances of running into a snow storm are much greater than not. One route, although a lot out of your way, would be to come up into Canada from Spokane via Oroville/Osoyoos, head straight north to Kamloops and then west to Cache Creek and then south to Hope via the Fraser Canyon. From there, it's pretty safe route to Vancouver Island. The reason I suggest that route is that you don't cross over any high mountain pass and it's the only route I know of that you don't unless you travel way down south. The chances of running into a snow storm on this route in late April, early May are minimal and generally speaking, you won't even see snow anywhere except up at the top of the mountains.     man, ya lern sumpin new every day... I use the numeric keypad often and have taught keyboarding a few times .... never clued into the "3" difference between the keys that are above/below each other. Cool!

    "need" ... ????? c'mon... nobody "needs" it that bad that they "need" to talk on a phone while driving. We didn't "need" it years ago so why now? .... It's not a "need", ... it's a "convenience" and nothing else IMHO.

    DITTO Not sure where you're getting your conversion from but according to my calculations... 3.8 litres = 4.05 US quarts = 3.34 Imp quarts

    How do you figure 60 days? The warranty should be good until sometime in 2011. ???

    I believe 4 quarts... what I do is put 3.5 quarts in and then run it until good and warm.... then shut off and let it sit for about 1/2 hr... then check the sight glass and top up to no more than 1/2 way. Having said that tho, we use Litres up here and that's probably a tad less than a US quart.

    Moe... it's probably the clutch basket issue that many of these have. Do a search for either clutch basket or I basket. Basically those with the "whine" have the basket replaced with an I Basket .... either that or ride solo.....

    Hiya winston66! Glad you've discovered what many of us have been doing for years ... this is how ya can lay back in the saddle and steer with yer toes.. Anyhoo, your scoot is a bit different than these RSV's I believe and these sukkahs are a BEAR when it comes to low speed handling and twisties IMHO. The 130 tire (or the levelling links) are a HUGE improvement. My scoot now feels a lot closer to having the handling characteristics of my 2 first gen's.

    I've also switched to a 130 and doubt I will go back. The bike is a lot "nimbler" at slow speeds and I don't have to muscle it thru the twisties anymore. The only downsides are that it feels a bit more "squirrely" when it's windy and on "groovy" roads (where the trucks have made tire grooves, etc).

    Well, seeing as it's not mine and won't be there forever..... She did say that I needed a "project" when I got the trailer tho... (I wonder if she's tryin to tell me sumpin? LOL)
