Curious to know what you guys paid for a new V* 1300 ?? Dealers here have them listed at $11,999 for the "Tour" model.

heh... you explained it a little clearer than I did but that's EXACTLY what I meant and how we do it. I shoulda mentioned... it would take one heck of a woman, especially one over 60 yrs old, to swing her leg overtop the trunk! LOL

When I take her shopping, I blow off ... steam that is ... coz she comes out with enuf groceries to fill a truck !!
-
Gordie... we'll be lookin for a full report on that wing eh ... as well as your trip including pics! Hope you guys have a great and safe time!
-
I get on... the bike that is. I bring the bike up off the sidestand and steady it. She gets on from the left side...puts her left foot on the footboard, grabs onto the backrest, centres her body over the bike and swings her right leg up and over the seat... sits down. Reverse that to dismount.

Stratoliner??? isn't that a V-star 1300??

Vulcan whine too? we are not alone?
SilvrT replied to GOINtoHELL's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Evidently you aren't experiencing what some of us are hearing. I can tell ya, loud pipes, loud tunes, and a woman scremin in yer ear "GO FASTER!!!" will NOT mask the whine/chirp of these engines sufficiently. In fact, all of that is like gettin kicked in the shin to fix a toothache... whine diminished but everything else is now annoyin ya. -
looks like a smokin deal ... guy up here has identical bike and was askin $13,500 ... just for the bike!..that was last year...dunno if he sold it or what.

From what I've heard, that, besides color changes, is one of the new features for 2010

2010 msrp (Canada) ... $23,899 http://www.yamaha-motor.ca/products/index.php?group=M I just don't understand why, when our dollar is almost on par and even has been a tad above, that your prices are so different.

Sorry you got treated so badly. Things are a lot different this side of the border, especially when it comes to what a guy pays for these scoots. None of the Harley dealers I've been to are "pr_ _ _s" ... they have all been vey courteous and helpful and all their staff is like that. Their stores here, at least in my experience, are but one of the few retail outlets of any kind that show good customer service. I can't say the same for most of the non-Harley bike dealers....some are close tho. As for the prices, one of the Yammy shops here is still trying to flog a new 2008 "S" model RSV and they've now dropped it down to an unbelieveable $16,995!!!! Better JUMP on that one guys... I'm sure it won't last long!! http://www.buysell.com/root/detail/BC/Motorcycles_1001_1500cc/4810/74488983/2008_YAMAHA_ROYAL_STAR_VENTURE_S_1300cc.aspx?gok=Motorcycles+1001++1500cc

Nope... you are looking at USA locations/prices ... I am referencing Canadian suppliers here in the Vancouver, BC area.
-
An Electraglide with ABS here can be had for 24,500. New RSV is around 22k and a new Kaw Voyager the same... Wings are around 28k... I'd say that's pretty competitive.

According to MSN ... http://autos.ca.msn.com/motorsports/gallery.aspx?cp-documentid=24077186 hmmmmm... not one Yamaha made the list!
-
Interesting... thanks. I knew they stopped production in 1993 but didn't realize what was left over up here got sold as 1994 models. That would then make a 1994 a bit of a rarity one might think...?
-
Is this a mistake?? http://www.autotrader.ca/used_cars_Motorcycle_details/Prince+George_British%2bColumbia_1994_YAMAHA_VENTURE%2bROYALE_1292559.html?srcID=5&frnID=7516762&ms=motorcycles_atvs&cofid=CT2005315103339706&prv=British+Columbia&r=9

I dunno about that... I think many of them are fully aware of it but just don't give a damn ... in too much of a hurry so they push the limit...gotta make it thru coz stopping would mean having to wait another 2 minutes and due to the light change sequence, might also cause them to have to stop at the next light...
-
yep, it's pretty pathetic the lack of grease, etc on these bikes. Sure makes a guy wonder about quality huh? And then there's the issue of the various screws coming loose... saddlebag hinges, chrome trim on the front fender, etc, etc.... pretty pathetic. Thankfully they are warranteed up the ying-yang!

Venture 1999 to 2010 differences
SilvrT replied to a topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
how??? by the looks of it, you and Condor have all of them... :rotf: -
I totally agree that driver training should be mandatory for new drivers or drivers who maybe immigrated here from another country. I also feel that training should be mandatory for anyone who want to get a motorcycle licence. I also feel that additional / specific training should be mandatory c/w an endorsement on the licence for folks who want to drive motorhomes and/or pull camper or other such trailers. Further, such training (which currently exists but is not mandatory) should be revamped to include motorcycle awareness in the basic course.

ya, potatoes might be better coz you wouldn't get them mixed up with other, egg-sized warm things.... :rotf:

Got a really nice "thank you" letter from the insurance co for the info I provided them. I'd sure love to know the full outcome of the settlement ... was anyone charged?... who'd they deem to be at fault?... etc, etc

Better stop when it's green too... just to make sure there's no "red light runners" crossing your path...
