  1. I agree ... y'all are getting old and crotchety! LOL Also agree with DragonRider ... "no problem" respone is better than no response. Now here's mine ... 2 of them. Walking behind someone and going into/out of a building ... they open the door but neglect to consider there's someone behind them. Again, going into/out of a building ... I open the door for me and the person on the other side barges through... as if I was opening it for them. Same thing exiting an elevator or a transit vehicle ... people barge in before you have a chance to exit. Common courtesy has gone the way of common sense!
  2. heyyyyyyyyyy Ed!! good to see you back here and thanks for letting us know your whereabouts and what's going on with you. Speaking for myself, although I'm sure many others have been thinking the same, been wondering where you got to, how you are doing, etc etc. All the best buddy!
  3. I'd guess I see this commercial every day ... probably one of the best yet and one of the few commercials I actually enjoy watching every time.
  4. SAWWWWWWEEEEET! :clap2:
  5. only if you're "friends" with them on f/b and only if they (and you) are active. I have "friended" several and then either un-friended them or turned off seeing their posts due to ridiculously high activity of useless crap. I do monitor f/b regularly and post occasionally ... one of my daughters who is well educated sometimes posts something about a controversial subject ... those are interesting, sometimes get a bit "heated" and lengthy ... and those I do partake in.
  6. workin on that constantly LOL
  7. Bang ON! That said though, maybe I shoulda been .. eh
  8. Totally!! Myself, I have no siblings and left home when I was 15. My mom and step-dad had separated at that time. My aunts, uncles, and cousins were my "family" and I spent a great deal of time with them over the years. As time passed and we all grew older and had our own lives and lived sometimes many hours apart, the frequency of connecting with them became less and less. Social media didn't exist in those days and even when email started becoming more widely used, many of those relatives never had computers. While many folks don't like facebook, I do see it as a means to stay in touch with people although there's still some who don't use f/b or email for that matter. The "recluse" I mentioned above is one of them. Perhaps that description isn't exactly appropriate but it's the best word I can think of to describe him. I can somewhat understand ex-wife's family not staying in touch to a degree but when I'm still close with one or more of them .... I guess I just expect they will keep me informed especially when those who passed were such a big part of my life for so many years.
  9. @BigLenny ... thanks ... things you said do make sense and I'm feeling better about it because of that!
  10. I just don't understand this.... Over the past several years I have come to learn, by chance, and long after the fact that relatives (cousins, aunts, uncles, etc) have passed on. For some reason nobody in my extended family lets me know about these things. A few years back I went to visit some of my cousins in the town where I was born, where they lived, only to find out that 5 of them had passed away since the last time I was there some 3 years earlier. Three years ago my ex-brother in law passed away. I found out via facebook several months later yet I his son and I are still very close. Just today I found out, again via facebook, that my ex-sister in law passed away last February. Granted I haven't been a part of that family for almost 16 years but I was for 30 years of my life and again, her son and I are close yet we don't see much of each other very often nor is there much communication between us. (I think he's a bit of a recluse). I'm really disappointed and even a bit disturbed about this and I'm beginning to wonder if it's something about me that is the reason I'm not kept in the loop about such things. Have I been shunned by my extended family (cousins, etc) and my ex-family? Am I expecting more than I should? I have communicated to them my desire to be kept informed yet it doesn't happen. I'm just not sure what to make of this.
  11. I did a short demo ride on one a few years back. Some city riding and some highway. Didn't like it at all. Steering seemed too "touchy" so it seemed hard to maintain a straight line ... bumps in the road also affected that. Didn't like how it took corners in the city. Didn't pay much attention to much else... was just anxious to get back and get off it LOL
  12. Never heard of that but many folks have replaced the cassette deck with gauges including myself. There's lot's of info about "how to" here on the site for that.
  13. Ya, one really has to look into that. For the most part though, we'll probably spend a good deal of time "boondocking". Further to the comment "you can write off the interest paid on the loan as a second home", our plan would be that the M/H would serve as our "primary" home and there would be no second home (at least for a couple years).
  14. @divey so Doug, do we have an update? Did you sell it or?
  15. We're doing much the same. That's good info, I'll look into that for sure although I'm not planning to take out a loan.
  16. Just wondering what the price difference is between reg gas and diesel in various parts of the USA. We're going to buy a motor home possibly as soon as next summer and I'm weighing the pros/cons of gas (Ford V10) versus Diesel (probably cummins). I know that repairs/maintenance of a diesel can be considerably more so fuel efficiency and cost are a factor in my decision. Thanks for the feedback.
  17. To answer the question, I pulled a Leesur-Lite tent trailer fully loaded with my '06 RSMV without any issues. You would have no problem with the kind of trailer you're looking at as a loaded Leesur-Lite would be heavier.
  18. You want to keep in mind that your braking distance will increase. It's a good idea to do some practice "panic braking" in an empty parking lot with the trailer loaded behind you. You'll want to slow it down a bit in the twisties (that's assuming you're an aggressive rider and love dragging the boards lol)
  19. Although I have been in business, I have nothing to add except to say the above words are MOST IMPORTANT. A friend is only a friend as long as they want to be and they can turn on you as quick as a tomcat. Best of luck in your future endeavor.
  20. DITTO I used to use a program called Fix-It Utilities... started using that way back with Windows 95. Used it right up until maybe 5 or 6 years ago when I found ccleaner. Being in the IT biz and supporting many clients with varying numbers of computers and configurations, those programs saved my bacon and made me look good many times over. There are other, similar programs available but ccleaner seems to do the job quite well.
  21. FWIW, and I have mentioned this many times in the past, I use Maxthon browser instead of IE or Firefox. Maxthon will save and store your passwords within it's own database, not in cookies so in my case, I never have to worry about this.
  22. You can either uncheck the check box for cookies in Internet Explorer (or Firefox if you have it) -OR- Go to Settings | Cookies and move the cookies you want to keep over to the right side (Cookies to keep) You'll also see a check box for Saved passwords on the left on the main screen ... make sure that is not checked. As an added tip, when you clean the registry, do it multiple time until it no longer shows anything in the list. You will find though that certain running programs such as a virus scanner will immediately re-create files that ccleaner will pick up so you can't get rid of those. hope that helps
  23. While gggGary 's method is probably a more "professional" approach, I simply mounted a buffing wheel on my electric drill, stuck it in the vise (it's case is designed for that), locked it in full speed and used Solval Autosol. I took each piece off the engine, cleaned off the clear coating, and went at it with the buffing wheel using liberal amounts of the Autosol, taking care not to "burn" the stuff. After a good "buffing" with that I'd change to a clean buffing wheel and polish off any Autosol film left. My engine covers came out like chrome. That was my procedure in a "nutshell"; however, this takes some practice and I've had lots before I tackled my '85. Buffing Wheel
  24. hmmmmmmm... I haven't been to a dentist for 47 years ..... my teeth are like the stars ... they come out at night ! I do recall though how much I hated going to the dentist. It was almost always to get a tooth pulled. My teeth back then weren't so good. When I had 'em all yanked was the only time I didn't mind it. I remember waking up in the chair and telling him he missed part of one LOL
  25. I sent you a PM with my PayPal account info so you know where to send it.....
